This place has a wonderful, homey aesthetic, with lots of space devoted to common areas with beautiful views of Moiwa Ski Resort. If you want to ski and talk to other visiting skiers the is the place for it. (It’s worth noting that *every* guest we met was from Europe, Australia or North America.) The lodge is in every way built to host ski/snowboarders, with entrance with gear storage and drying areas. There is a reasonably priced rental gear delivery service as well. Altogether this was some of the simplest renting and riding I’ve ever done. The breakfast is *very* good—a standard American breakfast with all the eggs and toast and coffee you could want. They have an *adorable* bar built into the second floor which gets pretty lively and you might want to visit even if you don’t stay there. The location is amazing in terms of access to the Moiwa ski resort. Access to the various Niseko United ski bases is via a free daily van to Annupuri base which the lodge provides. They also do free pickup/drop off to bus stops and arrange cars to restaurants.

There is no “town” or shopping around the lodge so you are limited to eat at the lodge or one of the 2-3 restaurants nearby.

Just down the moiwa slopes. The incredible good welcoming as usual, the good breakfast (essential for a long ride) and the possibility to reach the moiwa lodge by G8 (and even lower) from annupuri. I will come back (already my 3rd time)

The behavior of the roommates, some woke me up at 4am and another time at 3am, bit this is the issue of all hostel... especially with foreigners (who are not japanese).

Had a wonderful stay at Moiwa lodge, we stayed for 2 weeks and cant wait to get back again. The staff were great, they always have time for there guests and seem to genuinely enjoy there jobs. Facilities were fantastic, bear in mind this is not a 5 star hotel, if thats what your after perhaps you will not like it here. If your looking for a comfortable place to stay while enjoying the mountains this is for you. There is a fantastic information package available on there website that tells you everything you need to know. What set Moiwa Lodge apart from the rest is the social environment it promotes, you can rock up here as a solo traveller and make buddies to go riding very easily, everyone is chatty and friendly and i think the lodge is a big part of that. Aspects like the big bench tables in the breakfast area, the free shuttle buses in the mornings and the cute little bar in the middle of the lodge really help travellers meet each other, on top of that the lodge facilitates day trips to surrounding ski resorts.

The room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 3 kids, with ample space for our 5 pieces of luggage. The large toilet was a nice touch. However, we found some bugs in the room, both dead and alive. Additionally, our room was close to the reception, so at night, we could hear people talking and coming in and out from the lodge main door, making it difficult to sleep. The soundproofing of the room door could be improved. On the positive side, the location is very convenient, being very close to the ski resort with a kind of ski-in ski-out, within walking distance.

Staff were great, did their best to accommodate us and provided an info pack after booking that was really helpful in organising our trip in Niseko. Can organise ski gear hire delivered straight to lodge at reasonable prices. Comfy, cosy and clean!

The lodge is about 10 minutes drive from Niseko main town. Can be a bit of a hassle getting a taxi but the staff do their best to help you get sorted

Our family enjoyed living in this place. Dirk was very helpful with pick up & drop off service. My son liked the Aussie style during his Japan trip. We moved from family room to 2 double rooms on the last say, packing luggage was a pain, but staff helped a lot. This place is very close to the skii area, only takes a maximum of 5 minutes of walk. Breakfast was included. It's Western style, simple but very convenient. Dry room in the basement was very good, which could fast dry laundry and wet gears.

The lodge was amazing, super close to Moiwa ski resort and was super comfortable. The staff were amazing and the bests were the cosiest I’ve ever slept in! The breakfasts and dinners were fantastic.

The location was fairly isolated and the shuttle busses were intermittent so it was hard to get into the town for dinners/lunch/snacks and there were verrry limited options in a walkable distance. The showers at the lodge never got hot, but there were nice onsens in some of the nearby hotels.

location is awesome. Info pack was very handy and helpful. Shuttle service (e.g. for Sapporo transfers, Hirafu and Annipuri) was excellent. Breakfast was well stocked and tasty.

Would be great to have personal lockable storage in the rooms. eg for passports and electronic valuables. Would be good to have a big cube shelf in the mens showers change are for putting your clothes etc.

We travelled together with my teenage son and we definitely enjoyed our stay. The lodge is great and owners and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.

The location seemed a bit far away from the main rides and sometimes it took us about 2 hours to get back to the lodge, especially when we did night riding. I think 1 more pick-up shuttle bus closer to night time would have solved this problem.

Perfect location, right on the slopes! Great atmosphere in the lodge and nice bar area to meet other travellers. Very helpful staff who help arrange restaurant bookings, transfers etc. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, a good way to fuel up before a day of skiing! The rooms were very spacious and the beds were clean and comfortable.

Would have been great to have private showers but the shared showers are decent.
