The Fryingpan is a friendly, well-run, comfortable family-style pension fifty meters from the Annupuri ski field. One can walk there and ski home. The staff took care of me so well. There was a good breakfast and well-prepared food and drink for dinner, so I never had to look for food after a tiring sportive day on the slopes. I slept very long and well because the guests were considerate and never indulged in drunken behavior. My car was valet-parked and the small lot was always well-plowed.

There were only two small bathtubs for eight rooms and the water was sometimes not hot enough for me. There is an onsen-hotel nearby which accepts non-residents for bathing but it is advisable to have a car to get there in winter.

Super close to the ski lift. The main area to hang out with other travellers. Very friendly and welcoming. Beds comfy. Lots of toilets. Everything very clean.

Shower area was a bit chilly. Would have been good to have a few more facilities to make own food/store food for more of that hostel vibe. A bit hard to make decision about whether you were going to want dinner there at night in the morning.

The staff were wonderful, always friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent, literally 2 minutes from the Annupuri ski gondola. There were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.

Unfortunately the Pension Fryingpan only took cash payments for food, drink and other services. This became a slight issue as there are no ATMs in Annupuri.

the location was beyond convenient. we couldn’t have been happier. it was a 2-minute walk to the gondola, and upon bus arrival, the host Ken picked us up in his personal car. the facilities were very clean and well taken care of. we stayed for a week and we’re given new linens. the host Ryo and her husband Ken don’t speak lots of English, but with a little help from Google translate, they are delightful. getting to know them and their daughter was one of our favorite parts. they are kind, courteous, and want you to feel taken care of. they also cook breakfast and dinner with such care, and it’s delicious!! you will not feel hungry. we can’t say enough about how happy we were.

NOTHING. it’s very cozy (in a good way), without feeling like you are being crammed in a hostel, and there’s a pleasant quiet work space in the front lobby area.

family run charm super close to the slopes, on the way, theres a gentemstick boutique to wow you. absolutely lovely, definetely better deal then the annapuri ski in out hotel nearby in which i also stayed. charming bang for your buck

Super nice owners and staff. They really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The location couldn't be better. The food is delicious.

Shared baths, even though they are super clean, are not ideal for us. The kerosene heaters may look cosy, but they smell bad. They seem to be standard for the region though.

Great value for money and incredibly close to the ski lifts. Breakfast was delicious every day and good value.

Shared toilet and bathroom facilities is a little annoying, especially at the end of a ski day when everyone wants to shower at the same time, but given the price of the accomodation that's an acceptable compromise.

It was a bit cold on the coridors, the room was a small and the heater made the air very dry during the night

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and warm, and so well situated to the Annupuri slopes. The food on offer was good value for money in the area and quite tasty.

The facilities are fairly old and seemed cluttered.
