Dormy hotel Oita had a great location outside Oita station. We experienced the onsen on the top floor - it was great. Hotel also had a lot of free perks such as noodles in the night, yakult in the morning and ice cream. No issues with the service staff.

Room was small, there were 3 of us - 2 adults and a child and I don't think the room was suitable - we ended up feeling very cramped. Probably only for 2 people maximum. Room was also smelling quite damp, carpets also felt damp. Think hotel needs to air the rooms a little.

The public bath on the last floor is valuable with, for the men (it might be similar in the women public bath) 2 indoor pools, an outdoor one with a silky bath on it's side. There is also a sauna. Washing machines and dryers can be used there. In the same floor, you have access to a manga library and you can borrow some books in your bedroom for reading, and during a few hours, ice creams are proposed for free. In the dinning room, you can have a ramen for free in the evening, in case you didn't had time to eat in the city. The breakfast is a buffet where several kind of food is proposed. It's very nice. Concerning the bedroom, more space for the luggage would have been better, but it's clean and the bed cuffin and pillows are good. The bathroom is still good enough, even though you can have a better time enjoying the public bath. The hotel is just in front of the train station and the market hall.

The hotel has a car park but you have to paid 1500¥ per night in the hotel to have a place for your car. As the hotel is in the city center, there id no other way to park. More space for the luggage in the bedroom could be found by reagencing the room.

Coin laundry was located inside of the onsen, there were separated washing machines for man and woman. It was inconvenient to wash clothes as couple or family. The hotel allows guests to go to the breakfast area and other shared spaces in sleepwear and slippers. So to be honest it’s quite unpleasant to see unknown people dressed like this in breakfast area and other shared areas. The elevator was always occupied as onsen was on the top floor and a lot of people were using it.

The onsen on the rooftop is nice.

The hotel does what they can to educate people on how Onsen works in japan. There is signage and everyone gets an explanation leaflet at checkin. Yet, I saw people bathing with clothes on and being very loud. I don't know what else the hotel can do to mitigate that, but that was something that tarnished my stay a little bit and that I didn't see anywhere else during my trip. This is very minor, but the vending machines still don't take new 1000jpy bills.

Location is excellent, just opposite to Oita Station. There are many restaurants, cafe and shops around that area. Ice cream and ice pops are provided after onsen. Free Noodles are served after 9:30pm. Breakfast is nice that meet dormy inn standard.

The parking charge is a bit high but its good that it allowed us to drive in and out during our stay.

This place is ballin', yo. Facilities great like you never seen. I stepped into the onsen and relaxation room and was like, "Woah, you serious, Dormy?!" Nice people working here, too. I was like, "Please, you top level service anyways." Also, the location is great, just steps away from Oita Station and the Amu Plaza mall as well a fee minutes walk from the nearby shopping street. Oh, and the breakfast buffet was great as well.

The location is perfect. It's just a stone throw away from the Oita station. The breakfast is also great.

The room is rather small, and the bed too. Not ideal if the occupants are bigger in size. More for single occupancy. However, this is rather typical for most Japanese hotels and motels.

1-Breakfast is good for the price. Good starting hour 2-Onsen is small but clean and quiet. The hours are very good for those who wake up early 3-Only 4 minutes walk from the north exit, no problem with check-in luggage 4-Near to convenient store, restaurants, shopping.

Convenient to the station. 1-2 minute walk. Free laundry wash including soap. 100 yen dry for 20 minutes. Clean.

Room was hot when we arrived. Could open windows but couldn’t find thermostat. Finally found the ac remote and cooled off fine
