Break Out in Otaru: A Total Nightmare I stayed with "Break Out" in Otaru, booking the "GIFT" room, and I'm awarding them a dismal one-star rating for an utterly nightmarish experience. Following their instructions, I received a room number and code to unlock the lock box, supposedly containing the key. Within ten minutes, it became evident that their code was incorrect. I messaged them, and their brilliant response? A YouTube link on how to open a lock box! I'm not an idiot; the code was just flat-out wrong. Wrestling with that useless box, I ended up hurting my hand. After pleading for a proper response, Break Out finally admitted they gave me the wrong room number! Then, filled with disappointment, I finally entered the room. I complained via chat, and Break Out's response? A simple sorry for mistyping. WTF. Unbelievable! Imagine spending 30 minutes trying to break into someone else's room. Not a funny holiday story. If I were in that room, the police would have been called, turning my supposed holiday into a police station nightmare. Aside from this colossal screw-up, everything else was mediocre at best – the room and location were acceptable, but the management was abysmal, earning my lowest rating. Save yourself the agony and find a place that isn't run by incompetents like Break Out.
