Overall: The hotel combines a lively, well-connected neighborhood with comfortable rooms, high-standard service, and friendly staff. For a comfortable stay in Tokyo, this is the place to be. Connection: Just a 3-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, which serves several major rail lines, including the Yamanote Line, the hotel offers convenient access to key Tokyo attractions. The proximity is especially beneficial for elderly companions. Arriving via Shinkansen, we opted for a taxi due to our luggage, and taxi drivers easily recognized the hotel by even its English name. Check-In/Out: English-speaking receptionists assist with a smooth check-in and check-out process. Bell staff handle luggage upon arrival. Early check-in is possible if the room is ready. Check-out is simple, either handing in keycards or using the express box for no outstanding payments. Rooms: The rooms are spacious, avoiding the cramped feel of some Tokyo hotels. The A/C goes as low as 18°C, perfect for Tokyo's summer heat. While standard, the rooms ensure a comfortable sleep. Service: Room service, including housekeeping and laundry, is efficient and satisfactory.

Breakfast: The breakfast offers generous options, ensuring you won't leave hungry. However, more variety would be appreciated. Aging Rooms: The rooms, though comfortable, seriously need refurbishment. Our room had a leaking A/C, dusty bathroom exhaust vents, chipped closet doors, and worn carpets that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while.

This is a very good location. 1st is the limousine bus from narita airport stops in front of the hotel. it took only 1.5 hours to reach the hotel. 2nd, beside the hotel is a mall (TOBU mall which has a lot of local stores and local restaurants) with access to train station. Ikebukuro is 1 train away to shinjuku. After visiting other crowded parts of tokyo, its very nice to go back to this hotel because the neighborhood is more quiet. 7 eleven, lawson are also near the hotel. Restaurants around the hotel are yoshinoya, mos burger, a small ramen restaurant that serves delicious ramen, and a restaurant that serves gyudon, curry etc, that is i think 24 hours open. A small shuttle bus stops at the hotel that only cost 100 yen to bring you to sunshine city, that has an amazing aquarium! The staff are very helpful, friendly and accomodating! highly recommended staffs

no microwave inside rooms.

The location is optimal as it meets our needs to be near a train station (Ikebukuro), airport shuttle bus stop as well as near shopping & eating establishments m.

It feels dated, like it needs a renovation. Smells a tad musky and shows much wear and tear.

The breakfast buffet spread was good and the hotel is a stone throw away from Tobu Shopping Mall and train station. Very well connected and convenient. The plus point is seeing Mt Fuji from Hotel window!

Location, view from our room, bed comfort, the staff's courteous manners. The airport limousine bus stop is just in front of the hotel.

It would have been nice if they had a hot bath facility. The convenience store inside the hotel also closes early. But there's a 24h one outside of the hotel, not far.

This well situated large hotel was still able to provide personalised service. The staff are excellent and are always striving to accommodate your needs. Most speak good English too. This was our second stay during our holiday and the room was better this time- higher up and larger. Was very quiet eventhough it's such a big hotel. Would return. Great location in Ikebukuro near all facilities

Only one observation and it's not limited to this hotel- there is no sealant between the bath/shower and the tiled wall- water runs between this area and with time, mould growth is inevitable. Also, many hotels, including this chain, provide all-in- one washing/ drying machines that are inefficient- taking hours to dry even a small load.

The staff, the location, the rooms, I loved it all. The room was incredibly comfortable, had all the amenities inc a kettle and coffee (the most important), fresh water in fridge every day, pyjamas etc. It was a nice and quiet room and there was a view of Fuji san on one of the mornings. There is a bus to the hotel directly from Narita airport. The hotel staff will happily assist you in forwarding your luggage to your next destination. There is a konbini in the building, gashapon, restaurants, gym. Everything Location is just fantastic, like a hop skip and a jump to one of the best connected stations in Tokyo. I find Ikebukuro to be a perfect spot. Lots going on, lots to see, easy to get to other areas in Tokyo by train. You can chill on the West side of the station where the hotel is with lots of great food around and local performances, arcades etc and then cross the station to the busier shopping area. Sunshine Dori, Sunshine city. My highlight was exploring and becoming familiar with Ikebukuro station. It's kind of like a world of its own. With both Seibu and Tobu department stores on each side of the station you could spend days exploring.

Wish I had more time at Hotel Metropolitan so I could have tried the hotel restaurants and bar before I left.

I have stayed at this hotel before. The hotel overall was very clean and comfortable. Located very close to the major JR and Subway lines. The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice. There are a lot of department stores around with a lot of eateries to choose from as well as konbinis. The room while looking a little small provided adequate room to move around even with 2 big suitcases and a carryon bag. The bed was a queen sized bed which is more than big enough.

There was nothing bad with the hotel
