There's a lot to like, so I'll organize it in bullet points: • In regards to location, it's only five minutes on foot to the closest airport bus stop, and a minute and a half on foot to the nearest Ikebukuro Station entrance. • Check-in/check-out is smooth and simple. • Kind, helpful, and adaptable staff were always eager to explain how the hotel's services and amenities worked. • Washer/dryer, safe, microwave, and other facilities functioned perfectly. Especially the WiFi, considering my room averaged 400 Mbps at all times. • Soundproofing was great - I haven't had sleep that peaceful in months. • No smoke smell, unlike what I've read from other reviewers. In fact, they even provided an antibacterial room and linen spray. • Bedding was super clean, and going over it with a UV light revealed no dust or bacteria. • Food was quite nice, so I always looked forward to using my daily meal ticket on a couple of croque monsieurs and granola. • I requested for "if possible, a room with a nice view", believing it was a silly request, but they fulfilled it - they gave me a room with a very expansive view of west Ikebukuro.

This may be exclusive to the Residential Double Room, but the lack of floor space meant I couldn't lie my suitcase flat without stuffing half of it underneath the bed. Speaking of which, it's the one place they don't clean - there was lots of dust and debris under the bed frame. Lastly, because there were no drying racks or dishcloths, I had to use a (clean) bathroom towel to dry my plates and utensils.

Great room with space enough for the suit-case and table big enough to sit with the computer. Good bed. Air conditioning worked well. Good location, close to Ikekuburo station. Beware that at most they have limited housekeeping, which means that they change towels and empty trashcan. I find this a great feature, but other people may think differently.

No real breakfast. You can pick stuff from a fridge and bring them to your room to warm in your micro; a far cry from a real breakfast buffet. On the flip side, there is a nice Excelsior Coffee close by.

Small room with a bathroom, washing machine, fridge and microwave - perfect! The place was nice and clean and we were happy that we could do our washing easily without looking for a dry cleaners etc. It was pretty dark because we were on the side of another building so we could never tell the weather until we left the building (it was always nice). We enjoyed trying food from TOBU market or combini stores so it's nice that we could easily store and heat it in the comfort of our own space. The staff was very helpful with Takkyubin and other queries.

Just unlucky to be on a side without sun, because it was very dark. I'm sure the front rooms were brighter.

The room was quite spacious by Japanese standards and had a washing machine and microwave. It was about 10 mins walk from the station - you can go up an underground passage from the station and take an elevator when you have luggage and the rest of the time it’s nicer to walk on the street (weather permitting).

The bed was too firm for my liking. I had trouble sleeping. The floor was also hard, possibly concrete, so it was very hard on the feet in the thin slippers provided. View was of a wall. The room rate was very expensive for what the room was but I booked last minute and it was the start of Golden Week so couldn’t be helped.

Room came with washer which is a plus. Room aren't big which is normal for Tokyo.

WiFi speed is really bad. Getting around 6mbps and lots of no loading.

Cleanliness, the refurbished meeting corner and library was really nice. Coffee served is a great idea - the quality is good and it is comforting to be able to come back to the hotel to drink a cuppa especially during winter. I like that the library is frequently refreshed with books that appeal to travellers. The picture books on places to visit in Tokyo are lovely. Thank you for looking into these thoughtful details.

Room size was smaller than expected. Difficult to retrieve items from luggage if there is more than one person in the room.

The location is great, lots of shops and restaurants around the area. The room has a small kitchen which is a plus, and there is a big bed. The bathroom is also comfortable for Tokyo standards.

We did not know that the breakfast would be served as frozen food and that we needed to heat it up in the room. That was a little bit disappointing but the size of the room makes up for it.

Very kind staff, large room for Tokyo standards. The washer-dryer machine in the room was fantastic! Clean, great wifi, comfortable bed, and the aircon/heater worked perfectly. The location of the hotel was also great. Even though heavy construction was going on during my stay, I didn't experience any building noises inside my room. The building crew was also exceptionally kind and made sure the lobby was safe when passing through.

Due to the renovation that's currently happening, going through the lobby and using the elevators is a bit chaotic (weekdays between roughly 9-18). As said, the building and hotel staff are extremely kind but it is not ideal if paying full-price (I got a black friday deal, not sure if this discount actually related to construction)

Tokyu Stay offers extremely well-equipped rooms, including a washer/dryer, which is great for minimalist travellers. In the lobby, you have access to all kinds of amenities including toothbrushes, combs, body sponges, cotton tips, and razors, plus an assortment of tea bags (which you can take to make tea in your room). If you take the C1 exit at Ikebukuro Station, it's only a one-minute walk to the hotel. There's a convenience store in the same street. The room is compact but fits a lot in, including a small refrigerator, a desk, space to hang clothes, a safe, and a bathtub.

Unfortunately, the toilet seat was not clean on my arrival but I'm sure this was an oversight rather than the norm.

Room was clean and spacious. Tokyu Stay has always been my choice as their room comes with a washing machine which is so convenient. I can travel light. The staff are also so friendly and helpful.

Although it’s very near exit C1 of Ikebukuro Station, it’s still a bit of a walk to get to exit C. Thankfully there are escalators/lifts. No need to lug your oversized luggage up the stairs
