The staff especially Elizabeth, were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very good with 2 large beds for myself and my daughter. We were allowed to book in early as our flight arrived early in the morning. We were able to stay until our early evening flight. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. We had some evening meals there and they were excellent. The bar area provided a lovely view of evening sunsets. It’s not far from the Impala Sanctuary - we walked there. The taxi driver, Gideon, who picked us up when we arrived, was helpful and took us to various places on other days.

Sadly the swimming pool was not available.

The service: all the staff were attentive to our needs and requests. Special shout out to Roseline from housekeeping. The hotel is generally beautifully designed. The bathroom is spacious, with a huge shower with hot water. There is also a large bathroom mirror, a toilet and a bidet. Shower gel, soaps, comfy room slippers are provided. The room is huge the bed was comfortable. They provide a desk where one can work from, a make up table and mirror, and a sitting area with 2 comfy seats where you can snuggle as you watch the tv or read a book. You can make your tea/coffee in the room as a kettle is provided. A mini fridge An ironing board and an iron are provided. They also provide laundry services. Restaurant: Loved the ambience They make fresh juice when you place the order Out dinner of tilapia, ugali and local vegetables was delish😋 Breakfast had varied food items. Loved it!

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

The staff were generally fantastic, from Dennis and Linet at the front desk to Bruce the bellhop to Celine at the restaurant. They always wanted to help and make our stay as memorable as possible. The room was beautiful and comfortable and equipped with pretty much anything you could hope for in a hotel room. The mosquito net on sliders around the bed was practical but also romantic. The air-conditioning worked perfectly. The pool was usually clean and inviting us to swim every day. Maureen at the spa took her time to do an excellent job on every treatment. There were a lot of great spaces to sit and hang out, so spending a day recharging in the hotel wasn't boring.

The hotel was under renovation when we were there, and there were often work crews in three different areas at a time, hammering, sanding, painting, and carrying materials through. I'm sure it will make the place even better in the end, but it was a bit disruptive. In order to get hot water in the shower, we were told to run it for four minutes, which I find a terrible waste of a precious resource. There were a couple little things that didn't work in the room, like a cabinet that wouldn't stay closed or a bathroom door that swung open with a bang when not latched. The room wasn't set up for two people when we arrived (even though there were two people on the reservation) and there was no wifi access in the room until the IT guy came and installed a repeater.

I enjoyed staying at the Sovereign Hotel so much I changed my plans and stayed an extra night. Facilities are excellent with a nice pool and areas to lounge about. I’ve stayed in many hundreds of hotels and can honestly say the staff here were the best ever. They were all so genuinely friendly and falling over each other to be helpful. Special mention to Celine in the restaurant. Hi Celine! I thought it was very good value. I’m sure you won’t find a better hotel in Kisumu at any price.

The shower cabin had mold on the corners, you could tell it was cleaned but they didn’t have the proper cleaning materials for the corners. The pool doesn’t have a guard, it is written in a wall that isn’t easy to see, so be careful. I wish there was cold milk served at breakfast.

The location is central to town centre and many tourist attractions. The staff were helpful with arranging boat tours and taxis and recommending places to visit. The location is serene and the rooms spacious and well kept. This is my new favorite hotel in Kisumu.

Not much I didn’t like. I expected a lake view but it has been blocked by trees growing in the neighbouring property, however it is still beautiful to look out and see green and a few monkeys enjoying the trees

The hotel is undergoing some minor renovations and is in good condition. Location in the garden-like neighbourhood with a view to Lake Victoria were reasons I chose the hotel.

Nothing worth reporting about. One feedback: It would feel nice if client was asked before changing his/her drink to another motel costly one ☺️

Breakfast was amazing! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location was conveniently quiet and easy to access other nearby facilities. Will definitely be back!

Sometimes the WiFi was finicky, and I had to use mobile data.

Breakfast was great, Coffee was also great. The property is located at a quite place with 24H security service. Not in the city but near the city. The area ist also safe. Elisabeth was so helpful since we had an issue with our booking. Thanks once again. The owner kept assisting with any request. Alfred from the Restaurant met our wishes thanks.

The pool is old and cold. somethings in the room needs renovation

Great location near the lake and near WestEnd Mall. Clean facilities.

My room was near the pool and it was really loud when they cleaned the pool and the music at the pool was also too loud. One of the days during breakfast, the cook making omelettes was a no show.
