Beautiful site, pond and pool. Very tranquil and beautiful. Food was excellent and authentically local.

The resort is situated in a developing area, with construction all around. You need to get a ride everywhere or do a 40-minute walk to the town. This is all fine except that the description did not say this, in fact it stated beach access which is almost 1h walk. The restaurant was not open for dinner, which was inconvenient as there were no other options in the area. It opened a 1pm and last order by 4.30 pm. The website states full dinner service which we found not accurate. The food was delicious and it is a shame that they don't have it open. We saw several guests being sent away, including ourselves, during our 5 day stay, because they did not want to have the restaurant open. They definitely miss out on a lot of business this way.

When the cleaners came in to clean the room was great however, when they came in they left the door open a lot and they also left lots of the windows open, this meant that not only does the heat get into the room so when we come back it would be hot but it also let in bugs! We had to kill many cockroaches and they were crawling all over the floor!

I stayed for two nights, but the villa made me want to stay longer when I left. The villa was clean and cleaned every day. The villa was located near the forest and the lake, so I felt close to the birds and animals. The staff were kind, and I looked forward to the cats' visits (cats are a familiar presence in this area). The villa has a restaurant, and since it was raining, I was able to enjoy traditional Malaysian food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the morning, I was woken up by the birds' calls and the Islamic call to prayer (Adhan). It was a mystical experience that is hard to come by in everyday life.

The airport is nearby, so there is a loud noise for a moment. There are no flights at midnight. There is no shopping supermarket around the villa. (It is about 2km away) It is better to do some shopping at the airport before coming.

The historic villas were lovely and beautifully designed. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great. We were the only guests to use the pool while we were there which was a luxury. The pool was deep and beautifully set within the lily pond. The lunch here was also fantastic.

The moody lighting in the villas meant that they felt a bit too dark at times. Unlike most of the places we stayed in Malaysia, there was no filtered water in the room. During the day we could get free filtered water from the restaurant but after 5 this service was not available so we had to rely on water bottles.

The property offers stay in original malaysian style - it offers of chalets in different size and a main building with excellent restaurant and even more excellent pool placed in a lake with see rose. This is the real highlight of the property! i recommend this property to everybody who prefers something exceptional and familiar to a standard “no name” hotel. Staff is very carrying, food and drinks in restaurant are excellent - which is the sane as anywhere in Malaysia. we enjoyed our stay here (8 days) a lot!

property is a bit too far from the center of action and also from the beach - you need to take a taxi. this is however not a problem in malaysia with a “grab service” - it costs only around 8RM (less than 2 eur) to get to the center of Chenang - it is about 10min drive. also property is located close to the airport - which is however also hot a big issue as there are only about 10 flights a day and especially kids enjoyed a lot watching the airplanes. on the other hand you can reach the airport very fast.

These heritage villas are super great! It's living like the Malayans in the past. The flats are well equipped, the pool is extraordinary, it's swimming in a pond with see roses, the staff is super nice, and the kitchen to eat there is just awesome. I can just recommend this hotel - it's really a great experience!

Staying here was amazing. We fled to this hotel after a terrible experience with an apartment we had originally booked. Although we arrived too early to check in, the staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage in the lobby and gave us a very warm welcome. The staff is fantastic—they wait until we wake up to clean the room instead of leaving. We also received lots of great tips on what to do, and they were truly helpful suggestions. The rooms were super clean, and this is one of the few hotels where I actually slept well. I was a bit worried about insects, but we hardly saw any. The unique aspect is that it's like staying in a treehouse, which adds to the charm. If I come back next time, I'll definitely stay here again.

Kunang Kunang Heritage Villas feel like an incredibly special experience capturing a moment in time - each villa is unique and has been collected by the owners and relocated into this magical location. The main reception building is a 300 year old traditional Langkawi timber house. The details are beautiful and all the furniture throughout is an eclectic mix and add to the sensation of going back in time. Each villa is very spacious and have great bathrooms, some with an outdoor lounger which is nice for a bit of private sunbathing! The staff are all incredibly welcoming and friendly, helpful in every way and if you just wanted to kick back and relax its the perfect place to do so. Despite being next to the airport it is incredibly tranquil and you don't notice the planes. We went as a family with our 2 year old son and my 80 year old mother. The only thing to point out is that a lot of the villas are up steep steps so be mindful of that. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and great for kids to run around. There is also the Teratak Spa and the traditional massages are brilliant - so good we all booked twice! The food is all consistent and good but nothing to shout about. We went into town most nights for dinner and just had snacks and juices in the day at the Villa by the pool. Altogether a gorgeous stay and will be returning for a couple of nights at the end of our trip before we fly home.

The combination of traditional design, warm hospitality, delectable cuisine, and modern comforts makes for an unforgettable stay.

This is an amazing place! Like being in paradise. The villas were charming and they were cleaned every day, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the nature is stunning, as well as the pool in the middle of the lilly pond. We also loved the selection of books next to the reception and the cute robes that we bought as souvenirs. I would deffinitely recommend to stay here if you visit Langkawi, it is also very close to the airport and the Cenang beach (10 min with a taxi either way).
