Our room was very clean and sitting on the balcony enjoying the view was lovely. The location was close to trails and to town, albeit at the top of a very steep driveway. The resort ran fairly regular free shuttles to and from town, so by timing things right, the walk up the hill was not a problem. Breakfasts were good, with eggs (made a la carte) and a selection of other sides, with toast, tea, coffee, fruit, and cake. The staff were really very friendly and helpful, and attentive to our needs. They were happy to provide shuttle service to the bus station in town as needed. There offered tours and advice about places to visit and things to do in the area, as well as offers of assistance in other towns where there are Takoma Resorts. There was free tea, coffee, and water and kettle in the room and a water refill station available in the hallway. The resort was undergoing some renovation, and work was timed so it was not intrusive on our stay.

The bed was very hard. The plastic chairs on the balcony need replacement. The plastic seat had cracked and pinched the back of my thighs, causing a small cut, however this was overcome by placing a folded towel on the seat before sitting. You have to love cats to stay here. I do. However, I dont like the smell of cat pee, which was pervasive in the lobby and dining area.

Fan was dusty. Toilet needs more & better scrubbing. Room service needs to be more detail when cleaning - drawer in my room still had a leftover cigarette box from previous visitor

The location of the resort is very nice on the edge of town, on the hill with a nice view. The staff at the reception and shuttle bus were exceptional. They made sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. Very hospitable feeling for us. The small balcony facing the back is very nice during the day to sit on. The room and the hotel were clean.

Main reason we chose this hotel was the breakfast. The breakfast is 7:30-9:30am. The first day we came at 9:00am and there was only rice left in the cooked food buffet. Certainly, with 3 breakfast staff, it should not be hard to keep up. They did not seem that motivated and did not seem to care that about 6 of us had no food other then rice, eggs and toast. They had their own full breakfast right after 9:30am:). Next day, the owner was present and there was plenty of food available at all times. That day, all the food was very good. Wifi also needs to improve. There are smart tv's but the wifi is weak so they are not very useable. If you do not have data, you will probably need to stay in the lobby.

Clean, quiet, outside space, hill top location with view over town, great free shuttle service from the friendly and funny Simon. Excellent communication prior to arrival and during stay for pick ups and drop offs. Made it well located for town to go hiking & to see the tea plantations. Hot well powered shower and very clean bedding and towels. Excellent breakfast, water provided and coffee and kettle in room.

We were met by the driver at the bus station, I really appreciated this free transfer service, as there were no Grabs or taxis available when we arrived. However it's a short walk to the center of Tanah Rata, didn't take us more than 10 minutes when we went to find a scooter rental. The hotel also provides bikes for rent, but they're small for a family of 3. Wonderful view from the balcony overlooking the mountains; Enormously large bed with comfy mattress and clean linen; 3 cats at the premises, the one called Nugget and the ginger one were always around for a cuddle 😄; Wholesome breakfast served from 7:30 till 9:30; Helpful staff: thanks to them we visited an easily accessible Coral Hill instead of going to the Mossy Forest; and amazing owner (if you're lucky and he is around, don't miss a chance to have a chat - Mr. Louis Oui has much wisdom to share). You'll need to change for slippers before entering the building.

Stairs to climb 😂 but if you’re with small kids or elderly, can request lower level. Tapi sayang la, level atas2 got very nice view from the balcony.

Firstly, they provide top class of customer service, where they texted you in asking if you need assistance with ride from the bus stop to the place. On that day itself, they texted you again to follow up your time of arrival. I love this exceptional customer service. About the stay..I like how spacious and clean the room is. They provided breakfast together with a booking, which is very cheap. Good selection of breakfast. Iron and water dispenser is provided in the hallway. They also provide a free shuttle to the nearest city centre but if you're here by car- it's better to drive, as the drop of area is very close to the hotel. I love the presence of the cat, my little one's is a cat lover!

I wish the door that was located at the balcony can be closed, i guess that's from the design of the room. The door is also quite hard to lock. Other than that, everything is amazing

Amazing balcony views over the forested mountains. It also overlooks the town Friendly indoor kittens that are loving cared for by the staff and guests. Free bus shuttle to and from town at your scheduled arrival and departure times. Or a 10 to 15 minute pleasant walk. Faster downhill ! I'm 63 years old, but it might be for all, as it is a hill. Incredible buffet hearty breakfast, eggs. Roast chicken, salads, crepes, toast , noodles, fruit, etc I stayed for 4 days and loved everything Really caring and helpful staff from around the world Argentina, Spain, Malaysia. China. English. It was so nice to interact with them. They too often go for hikes, ask them they might take you with them.😊

The Chinese man (I am sorry, I forgot his name)who also help us to drive to/from the hotel is very good, kind, polite and so helpful. The shuttle from/to the hotel is great. The room is big and clean. The bathroom also big and clean, the hot water runs well. Nothing to complain about

Other visitors who stayed above our room talking, laughing with loud voice and also let their kids jumping around, dropping things non stop (probably ball or something) until 1 am in the early morning and made us so exhausted and could not sleep well

the beds were great - rather than bunk beds in the dorm they're full size beds in a sort of cubby hole with curtains so super comfortable & felt more private ! breakfast was a buffet so was great too. the cats on the property are ADORABLE but i suppose if you don't like cats that could be a problem. the staff were also great - always willing to give a lift into the town centre & they take you from and to the bus station as well :)

the location is on top of a very steep slope so getting back after dinner every night was painful 💀💀 also there were so many bugs in the bathroom - cockroaches too😭😭 also a part of my dorm ceiling was leaking and when i got back after a day out, the water had run all over to my stuff on the other side of the room (i think the dorm might've been on a small slant?) so we had to soak it all up with a towel. luckily my duffel bags are waterproof otherwise it would've been really bad
