85-90MVR (roughly 6USD) a taxi (3 persons 3 bags) from Male Jetty to this hotel at Hulhumale. Every extra person would cost extra 5MVR and extra bag extra 5MVR. Hotel staff friendly & thoughtful. Rooms are good. clean & large enough. beds are comfortable. Bathroom is great, with hot shower. Ocean in front of hotel. Place is not noisy despite being in front of ocean. Lots of cafes & shops nearby. 5 minute walk to Centro Mall where Manhattan Fish Market is located. Can easily get taxis from the main road two blocks away from hotel. A taxi from here to Velana international airport is 90MVR.

no lift. Fortunately only 3 floors up. Very beautiful view from patio on the 3rd floor. Can catch beautiful sunrise at the patio.

All the staff here are extremely helpful and polite. The room was very clean with lovely fresh sheets and a large comfy bed. The bathroom appears to have been newly renovated, the shower was excellent and the air con worked really well. I ordered some noodles to eat on the terrace and they were delicious really tasty and well priced. The location is great in the middle of the island along the beach side. You can easily walk anywhere; supermarket, central park, restaurants, phase 2 bridges, the port. Remember there is no bikini beach on this island, local dress codes apply. I got a taxi to and from the airport and paid around £5 each way for a 10-15 min drive. Taxis are easily available on arrival at Male airport. Tip: I was led to believe that USD was the preferred currency but I think that's more on the resort islands as here in Hulhumale everywhere wanted MVR. You can change dollars to local currency in the hotel but they are extremely fussy about the condition ( not just the hotel but everywhere) also most places won't take any lower than the 10 dollar bill. Overall a great place to stay to experience a little bit of life on Hulhumale island.

Just one thing to point out is that with terrace rooms the terrace is a shared space between the 2 rooms, so not private. It's not a massive issue but worth noting.

The hotel has appeared to have undergone recent renovations-for example the bathroom. It was clean, had a spacious feel for a single room and the bed was very comfortable. Two factors made this stay blissful.. this and another booking were made through booking.com. and the unrelated venues had been communicating to coordinate to organise transfer from one to the other (based on some details I provided) I arrived late and was departing immediately the new morning- this made my transfer feel so calm and conveniently organised. The staff are so respectfully caring, welcoming, and attention to even small details of customer need. The second factor, missed in my planned booking and not realised on late night arrival, was how blissfully close the hotel is to a beautiful swim beach... my only disappointment was that I missed this point and travel fatigue reduced my ability to get up and explore before needing to leave.. an early morning swim and longer stay would have made this stay absolute bliss.

I have not learned to appreciate instant coffee, despite this, the breakfast was delicious. Apparently, a more traditional Maldivian breakfast with a refreshing shredded tuna mix, an egg, flat bread and fruits.. very simple but so delicious and prepared me for another wonderful travel day.

My friends and I enjoyed our one-night stay at Planktons Beach—it provided the essentials we were looking for. We had requested two single beds and one large double, and since the room originally had only one large and one single, the staff promptly added an extra bed, which we truly appreciated. The staff was friendly and always ready to assist. We had our meals on a shared balcony right outside our room and were pleased with the variety of vegan options available. There was no elevator, but the staff kindly helped us with our luggage. They also organized our transfer to the airport which made our departure smooth and comfortable.

The room was a little cramped for three, but we didn’t mind.

Room was clean the staff/owners were very friendly and it was in an area easy to walk for restaurants cafes etc and had a nice view of the beach. They carried our bags to and from our room. We had room service dinner from there the first night and it was really good. Booked the additional charge airport pick up. He was on time car clean and the driver lovely. I would have given a 10 but for the fact there isn't a swimming pool when they advertise that they have one. It's false advertising should be removed immediately.

They don't have a pool and this should be removed from the website as it is misleading and 100% incorrect. There was a teeny tiny pond/bath tub thing about 2 metres by 1 metre that was covered up was empty and smelt of fibreglass. Not sure if this was supposed to be the swimming pool? Because it isn't one....there are also photos on the Web site of some kind of lovely indoor seated area which doesn't actually exist anymore.

The room and bathroom was spotless. Nice size. Nice breakfast. Staff was kind enough to prepare early breakfast for early departure.

The room had a darkened window overlooking the beach, but people were sitting in the corridor all the time, so even with the darkened window one is not comfortably opening the curtain. Corridor noisy. Other window is 50cm from another building, so not possible to oprn the curtain/window. Staff tried to be friendly but information does not circulate. Misinformed about transportation options, bus stop location, has not been informed about advance ticket need.

The staff were amazing! All of them! They arranged our day trips and even our transfers, anything we needed we got it. The breakfast was lovely! Got up every morning to smiles and a lovely greeting. People have written that this is a good layover for transfer to the islands, but I agree but also disagree! We stayed 6 nights and had lots of shops and the beach and also restaurants right on our doorstep. You go to the maldives and think that you need to go to an island, but you are not seeing the real lives and culture of the maldavians.

The beds are very hard and unfortunately this is a big thing for me as I have back pain.

The location was wonderful. We had the beach right at the front door, and there was ample amount of eating places down the road from the hotel. We organised a taxi service with the hotel which came swiftly, looking after our luggage, looking after us and the driver was super friendly. The Hotel itself was nicely done up and very clean. They gave us an upgrade on our room. We now have a double room with ocean view. It's on the top floor with a large terrace. And they surprised us with a honeymoon bed decoration. The room itself was nice a size, and we liked the bathroom. The water pressure was high, we got good hot water for our shower, the toilet was strong and the sink was nicely decorated. We correspond with the staff member to book our excursions. They helped with choosing which excursion is better, value for money. They organised it for us, in terms of booking, payment & refund and taxi services. They even informed us if the excursions are cancelled due to weather - which we absolutely love as it shows they prioritise safety over money/business.

There was no elevator, so walking up 3 flights of stairs was a mission. The TV wasn't great - signal keeps breaking due to the weather, and they used Airtel, which meant free channels were limited

Breakfast was very good and hotel accommodated our group of 13 with a group breakfast prior to departure. Plankton also arranged our round trip transport to and from hotel . Staff went above and beyond our expectations and provided us exceptional service throughout our stay. A great place to start and finish your trip or even use as a base to explore the Male area. Great local swimming beach out front with several shopping districts and restaurants close by. Incredible location…….Will be back!!

The best option for transit passengers, which we were! The room is very clean, it has everything you need, good air conditioning, hot water, comfortable beds. The sea and the beach club are across the street. The hotel has a wonderful staff member with good english. You can order food and have dinner in the room, on the shared balcony or downstairs in front of the hotel. We slept in absolute silence (it's very important for us). We left early in the morning. Mr. Sokhel put a delicious!!! lunch box for us for breakfast and called a taxi at a minimum cost. We had a great break between flights. Thank you very much!!!!
