Unfortunately I wasn't able to take advantage of the breakfast, because I heard from multiple townspeople that the food at Sol y Luna is delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. There is an art gallery with interesting original pieces, and I was l lucky to see 2 shows, as the switched over during my stay.

Although the pillows were very good quality and comfortable, the mattress was a too firm for me, which is a matter of personal needs. I am over 60 woman, and need more comfort for my shoulders and hips.

Very cozy place, the rooms are very comfortable, the furnitures of every room is very original . The SPA offers different packages , we took one and the services were superb. Breakfast in the restaurant very good , all the personal very friendly. The hotel is close of the downtown so you can walk to arrive it.

My recent stay at Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna SPA was an absolute pleasure. From the moment we stepped through the door, the professional yet friendly staff made us feel welcome. Highlights of the hotel are the on-site spa, outdoor pool and restaurant. We indulged in a couple's massage that left us feeling rejuvenated. We also enjoyed the included breakfast, as well as other meals in the onsight restaurant.

Breakfast every morning was very good. The receptionist was very accommodating - she even supplied me with a hair dryer and a steamer for my clothes. Plenty of hanging space for clothing. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel had an art show in the lobby on a Sunday that featured local artists. In the evening, they brought in several singers/musicians and was great fun.

1. A spacious room but room needed to have a chest with drawers - I had to put folded personal/clothing items on the shelves where blankets are kept in the bathroom. 2. If I went out for the evening, the hotel gave me a key for a lock on the gate to re-enter but I had to grope through the iron grates to access the lock with the key and I had to do this "by feel." I appreciated, however, their sense of safety and security for their guests.

Pool, courtyard bar, room was a pleasure to stay in and Sunday breakfast buffet was top class.

Distance to town centre and be aware of early kitchen closing

The owner, ever present and helpful, has created a restful oasis in a great location in Ajijic. The rooms are spacious: comfortable king-sized beds, nice seating areas inside the room and outside poolside. Thoughtful decor, the commissioned art work in our room was exquisite. Food was good, breakfast included, dinner, nice menu, well prepared. Spa services were available, reasonable prices. It was a great place for a birthday getaway.

Everything about the place showed quality. Very comforting music played in the background in the courtyard which was very calming.

Breakfast wasn't served until 9am - that's too late especially when you have a full day of activities. I had to ask if coffee could be ready by 8 at least to help waking up. Owner stated he would consider as a future change.

The owners and staff were very friendly and responsive. I loved the historical building. It was like living in a Spanish colonial hacienda. I felt very much at home there.

It is a beautiful peaceful place that has an amazing staff
