Perfect location for our needs. I travelled with my dad to celebrate his retirement. Property is in a quieter area at the hotel zone, which was perfect. Beautiful beach. Nice pool. Staff was friendly. Room was supposed to be cleaned every three days, but the cleaner came more often. I wanted a lower accomodation as I prefer to spend my money in good food and experiences and the apartment was what we needed. Very clean, bright, beautiful views of the sea and transport was excellent, as it stops next to the hotel and you can travel virtually everywhere in Cancun. Bed was very comfortable as well. We booked our taxi to and from the hotel through Michelle. I paid upfront in Mexican soles and he was there at the expected time for pick up and drop off. Very nice, chatty gentleman. We were able to visit downtown markets, where we bought local food like cheese, tasty fruits and we were able to cook them in the kitchen. Kitchen is fully equipped. Michelle was available via WhatsApp and was kid enough to let us stay a little extra as our taxi to the airport was at 2pm. We didn't go to the hotel's restaurant as reviews were poor. I am unsure why some of the reviews were saying there's no restaurants nearby. We were advised to visit a couple of them and food was ridiculously good. All walking distance. If you're looking for luxury, this is not your place to stay, however, if you want a good quality/value ratio, here's Solymar. :)

The beach was beautiful, front view to the beach.

Everything was ok until the host entered the room without a prior notice which made the stay uncomfortable after because we had important belongings that we had left out in the room not expecting to have her go in to the room while we were out. She said she went in because she had to turn the ac off since we had left it on. It seemed very weird that she would know, her ac was not modern to have access through mobile app. I will not consider booking again for that reason.

Michelle is helpful and was able to also accommodate an early check in. She ensured we had what we needed and was quick to respond to any questions. The room was good as to be expected and beds were cozy. Lots of extra towels dropped off and it had everything we needed and close to downtown core.

You have to check in & checkout of accessing the building every time which although I feel is normal for the Hotel Zone, we also struggled with it repeatedly as they couldn't understand us quite a bit. Warning to tourists in the area that they have Police around alot and target visitors to the area, we were pulled over and not ticketed and instead forced to give a "bribe" in order to go. A HIGH reccomend you just walk, bus or get a private driver.

I loved the location. Me and my female cousin felt safe coming in and out of the complex. There is a big beautiful and even a kids pool. There is also a buffet restaurant onsite that is about $15 for entry that is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The city center is about a 15 minute bus ride for $1/each way. There is also a bar and restaurant at the steps of the beach where you can order drinks till you've had enough. I have been to Cancun 3 times, but I would come to this condo moving forward every time that I visit. Michelle answers VERY quickly and is very helpful.

Michelle is the contact person, she is very helpful and accommodating, we asked for an ocean view, and she gave us two different rooms!! the view was beautiful from both 😍I like not having to check in and go straight to the room. You're giving a code to the lock box with the key inside! Rooms were very nice and clean, and the ocean and beach are fantastic 👌 bus stops right outside of the hotel Very cheap way to travel !

I love how helpful Michelle was on my entire trip. She was willing to accommodate my every need. She made suggestions of excursions that I can do since this was my solo mama need to get her grove back to be the best version of her self when she gets back to the states. At first I had really bad mommy guilt seeing all the children and family but Michelle had a way of opening me up to different possibilities. I love the location of this property and the bus picks you up right at the entrance. Check out was at 11:00 Michelle accommodated my flight leaving at 1pm. Best host hands down. I will be back with my entire family and I will be sure to stay with Michelle again at Solymar. Thanks for such a great first time experience in Cancun!!

I didn't like the food on the property. In my room there were other suggestions as far as restaurants close by.

Our host, Michelle, was very helpful and attentive and quick to respond to any questions. The room was nicely decorated and well supplied with amenities including a coffee machine. The room was cleaned regularly and towels replaced. The complex was nice with a lovely beachside location and the pool was excellent. Buses into town are affordable and frequent. Good place to stay on a reasonable budget.

It was a bit noisy being close to the road on the lake view side of the complex. It would also be useful to have a small drying rack in the room for swimsuits, towels etc.

Michelle and Berta were really great hosts. Excellent communication and provided some tips for the area. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the little sitting area. Good value for being right on the water! We learned how to use the easy (12 pesos or $1 us) bus system which takes you all along the hotel zone and downtown. Pool area is nice.

The property is in rough shape but has what you need. Staff are very friendly. They provided a coffee machine but no coffee cups. And there isn’t a convenient plug around the small make shift kitchenette. I would recommend if you like coffee, bring it from home. México likes its instant coffee and hard to fine ground coffee. The onsite restaurants are not good, Michelle will make some great recommendations for you. Also I would add a few hooks to dry towels and wet jackets (rained a lot during our stay). There isn’t a safe but the building is pretty secure. Lastly, location is further away from the immediate restaurants and bar than we thought but the bus system is excellent.

Amazing view, huge bed, and a very kind and helpful host!

Unfortunately it was very loud because of the construction in the room next to us, but it was during off-season, so just bad luck. The host Michelle offered us, however, another room if we’d have wanted to. She was super helpful!

Michelle is very kind and helpful..Solymar itself is a bit run down and there are not enough chars by the beach for everyone, so it was a sort of a war to get one... As for the unit, it is clean but contrary to what the ad states, there is no chair nor table in the room (only on the upstairs terrace) And the equipment is pretty simple : microwave, mini fridge and tiny coffee maker but: no bowl, no plate, no real cutlery. Cleaning was done once every 2 days which was great!
