This is my favorite type of hotel in MX; a renovated old hacienda where there's a secure entrance with an open courtyard inside. The inside is laid out so that it winds around the garden with little bridges and walkways, and patios tucked in and around the courtyard. There were always staff available to help out. The restaurant is lovely and the breakfast we had there was one of the best I've had in Mexico. The layout of our room was great and the shower was hot. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Posada is on a quiet street but minutes from the center. They have a nice garden. The room had everything needed. The safe was nice to have. Plenty of sights and restaurants. Along the Juarez Garden there's the local museum presenting the monastery which used to be there before. The Diego Rivera Pinotheka has paintings, but Riveras pictures are in Orizaba. Extra time --walk along Calle Illustre. There are several places with paintings by University Veracruz .The cultural center has changing exhibits and Mercado Garcia's next to the big church up the hill are all worthwhile. The highlight of course is the museum of Anthropology.- a must

I requested a room downstairs, but even so I stayed 5 nights I got a room near the reception and restaurant. There was always noise between 7am-10 pm. It's a big place, so get a room away from the noise.

This hotel on a very quiet little side street is spotless and features a beautiful inner garden and upstairs patio for hanging out. Conveniently located. Good value. Coffee pot with free coffee in our room each morning. Separate little restaurant for breakfast downstairs. Nice hot shower, tiled bathroom with toilet is eparate from tiled shower.

Internet connections on second floor where our room was were non existent. Bed was a bit hard for my taste. Street is very narrow and beware of one way streets in this hilly town if driving.

Beautiful, spacious and comfy room. Very friendly and attentive staff. Absolutely clean.

Wouldn't recommend the coffee in the hotels' restaurant

The staff at this location were amazing. They were knowledgeable about the town, and the events/activities going on that week. The food that was freshly made to order was delicious. They even washed our clothing! The location was great! Located just a couple block from the center of town. This city is very walkable, just be aware that you are on a mountain so the slopes are a bit more extreme then San Francisco. We walked at all times of the day and felt safe. Tried food from restaurants and food vendors all over, everything amazing. If you are going to Xalapa, this is the hotel to stay at. If you go please be nice to the staff, they deserve it.

We did not like Leaving

The hotel is close to Los Lagos and a whole area that is activated at night. It was also close to a restaurant/bar, La Popular, where they play live salsa music. The rooms are beautiful and reminded me a bit of Santorini with the white and blue color scheme. We enjoyed our stay for the most part.

They don't have parking or an air conditioner. I personally didn't sleep well due to the heat and lack of a/c. They do provide a fan but it was simply uncomfortable for me. My fiancee didn't mind the fan so much. Know thyself! As for parking, they mentioned something about a parking garage in Plaza Zaragoza but didn't provide an exact address thinking it was obvious and that we would find it. We did not. We did, however, find parking along a one-way street perpendicular to the hotel. It's worth mentioning that the mattress we slept on felt old and was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on. Sleep is important!

The hotel rooms and grounds are beautiful in the *old* Mexico style. Our room was super comfortable and immaculately clean. Beds were comfy. We had a suite with a private patio which was great for morning breakfasts. The breakfast was always excellent and happily delivered to our little patio. The bacon was cooked perfectly as well as the Veracruzana eggs. We have stayed at the Posada de Cafeto five times over the years -- never disappoints

Everything was great - couldn't expect more.

Great location, right in downtown Xalapa with plenty of food options and activities nearby. The hotel is kept clean and tidy and makes you feel at home. The hotel itself is just beautiful with a great colonial layout. Most beautiful gardens ever with great care and attention. The rooms are kept clean and are just perfect if you travel with the family They were very keen in helping us to find space to park our car and also giving us advices and recommendations of the city.

Nothing at all. I’m case you travel with an elderly you light consider there’s a few steps in and out the room. Otherwise you will certainly have a great experience…!

Evevwrything is excellent. The beds are comfy. The rooms are impeccably clean. The staff is nice. The restaurant on site makes the best hotcakes on the planet. There are many room options depending on your needs. We love the suites. I think we have stayed in all of them over the years. POSADA DE CAFETO is just a special place to stay.

Everything was great as always.
