I never had time to use the restaurant as our tour group provided all meals and local travel. But I would have liked to eat on the beautiful outside terrace looking over the canal. Location was excellent, within walking distance of everything in the beautiful town of Dokkum. Dokkum is a very friendly place, lots of history, culture, beauty.

- great breakfast ! lots of choices - easy parking 1 block away (easy in & out to roadways for day trips) - good water pressure - GREAT, GREAT location onthe canal in the middle town. Easy to walk thruout the old town.

- disappointed not to be in the old original building, however, my room a few buildings away was great ! (see pic below) - no safe for passport & valuables (I understand that it isn't 'needed', however, it is still uncomfortable for travellers not to have this standard item.) - WIFI is unsecured (which is also unusal these days for travellers) - had to ASK for a hairdryer and then discovered it wouldn't work in the bathroom outlet. - I was in Rm 32, it definitely was not soundproofed as I easily heard conversations, showers & toilets around me.

Friendly and helpful staff, made us feel welcome. Spacious and comfortable apartment right in the middle of the old town. Shops and restaurants only meters away and short city walks with historic sights possible. Lots of privacy with the apartment separate but right next to the hotel and the comfort of a balcony, washing machine and plenty of space to prepare your own food. Well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. A lovely balcony. Enjoyed preparing food in the kitchen and eating it with my family at the dining table. A place I would like to come back to. Very pleasant stay!

When we wanted to watch television it was hard to sit with more than 3 people. A little different set-up of the room could easily remedy that. The balcony was clearly not yet used after the winter and very slippery and dirty due to the algae growing on the rubber tiles. With a good scrub, easily fixed. Unfortunately there was no brush otherwise I would have done it.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. I have stayed here often and always found it terrific. Evening meal was lovely.

It's my fault but i didn't tell them in advance that i was vegan so the choices were limited this time. In the past they have surpassed my expectations when they provided lots of breakfast options.

Single room a bit basic but adequate and good value. Could have benefited from a fan as the weather was very hot. Limited street parking nearby

Location was great and so was dinner. Staff were extremely helpful and spoke English. Bedroom had a desk with seat perfect for a laptop and following up on work emails.

Room facilities were sufficient but could do with updating. For example, no shower curtain in my room and my room key was temperamental.

The town is beautiful. The location along the canal has a tranquil scene over the water. The family room is fantastic with windows facing the canal and is spacious.

The double rooms are outdated with facilities. Parking is about 5 minutes walk.

check-in was ok. Our room was not located in the hotel but a few houses next to it. This was very quiet, with a little garden, very quiet with view over the water.

parking was not near the hotel, but 500 meters away, no charge. In Dokkum not unusual, but we had not read about it while booking.

Such a lovely hotel in great location next to the canal. Have stayed a number of times over many years and they always have something wonderful to eat and cater for my vegan diet.

The location is great. Right in the middle of town. The breakfast is awesome!

The shower is a bit tight...when taller than 170..you might need to sit down to wash up.
