It was in a beautiful green location, just outside the city, with bicycles to rent -took about 20 mins into the centre. Hotel had a great open car park so it was easy to load and unload. We took our small dog and they left him his own ball as a welcome treat😁. Easy to stay, easy to park and staff were really friendly and helpful.

Found the open shower a little odd as it was placed to the left on opening the door ,also a bit chilly and slippery when I used my own hair conditioner . Nothing major just a bit odd. Other than that it was great.

Our weekend at Van der Valk Hotel Groningen-Hoogkerk was simply delightful! From the warm welcome to the thoughtful amenities. The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, providing the perfect retreat after exploring Groningen. Our puppy was overjoyed to find a ball waiting for him in the room—a thoughtful touch that made his tail wag with excitement. The food selection at the hotel's restaurant was broad, and the meals were delicious. The staff were exceptionally attentive, making our stay truly special. Can't wait to return!

The weather could've been a tad better.

We had a family room which was HUGE and very nice Location is a bit dull but very close to the motorway so good if you’re driving. Bus to city centre is regular and closeby- takes 10 minutes Staff excellent

A small thing but I didn’t see any do not disturb signs to hang on the door so the maid barged in.

The staff went above and beyond in accomodating us and was very friendly. Also at the bar/restaurant, where there was a good selection of food for a fair price. The room was spacious and it was very quiet at night, so we can get good rest.

The mattress was a bit too soft, but not a big deal. There was a construction noise from 8am, and that was not nice.

Large rooms and spacious beds. Breakfast is good. Parking was included and in front of the hotel.

Open bathroom, no possibility for privacy in the shower. This is not mentioned in the booking.com app, but is mentioned as "open bathroom" on the hotels website. Be aware the fitness is on the 6th floor, may get some noise to the rooms below.

A really comfortable very corporate hotel. Food and drink were reasonably priced. Great location for exploring Groningen as the hotel is next door to the bus interchange with frequent, cheap buses in to the centre. Very accessible.

All good -can't knock it at the price.

Clean, spacious and quiet rooms, air conditioning was working well. Good assortment on breakfast. Parking was free and plenty of space. Location worked fine as we were travelling by own car.

Door for the bathroom would have been nice (toilet had a door)

I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was in the night, despite the highway being right next to the hotel! ++ The receptionists were always very friendly, polite and helpful!!

I was quite surprised by the amount charged extra when travelling with a pet. (In fact, I have never paid that much extra at any hotel previously...)

The room was spacious with excellent shower, toilet, TV, space for the dog, very quiet and with coffee/tea maker. Free comfortable parking was nice, and the dinner delicious.

The bed mattresses were rather hard. The main restaurant room was already fully booked, so we had the breakfast in the bar area (which uses the same menu).

Given this was a last minute booking, I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The room was huge, the bed very comfortable, the staff great and the brasserie did great food.

It is a little out of the centre with not much round about, but that didn't matter to me as my friends were able to pick me up and it's only a short taxi ride from the centre
