Nice restaurant / hotel in Vijlen. Position is great with big private parking in front of hotel. Small hotel (only a few rooms) above a nice restaurant (which I did not try unfortunately). My room (#4) was quite big with a big terrace with sun from morning till sunset. Room furniture is quite basic but everything is there. Bed is comfortable, even if two single beds next to each other instead of one queen bed. Bathroom is nice with big shower. Breakfast good with lots of salty and sweaty food, coffee on the contrary is of low quality and need improvement. Nice surroundings for walking, biking, and short driving to Limburg points of interest.

Overall all good. Suggest bed table lights (missing, as only a single room light) and better coffee. No fridge / kettle or anything else in the room.

Very friendly staff who went out if their way to help- despite arriving after last orders for food we were asked if we had eaten. Dinner was excellent quality and local wine a surprise as extremely good. Good travel advice given to get around. Beds were comfortable and room very quiet despite hotel being full

Entrance hall looked tired with carpet worn and stairs too bedrooms very steep with narrow treds, bedroom was a little utilitarian with 2 plastic chairs

Vijlerhof is located at the beginning of Vijlen, the self-proclaimed only mountain village in The Netherlands. It’s a nice village with lunch rooms, small shop and bakery. The view from both the hotel and village were good. The room was very comfortable with a balcony. Staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet generous.

The arrangements for our late arrival were clear. The room was very comfortable, bathroom very modern and the staff friendly and efficient. The breakfast deserve a mention for being the best we have ever met on our travels. Absolutely all tastes catered for, a huge variety of foods and all delicious. We will change our route in the future especially to stay the night here!

Pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable our twin room in this hotel was, also with a good modern bathroom. Simple furnishing. Friendly staff. Good breakfast spread in the morning and could have had dinner, inside or out, but we chose to cross the border to Aachen for the novelty of eating dinner in Germany.

Country stay with great restaurant attached- lazy afternoons in sun.

Stairs to the 3rd floor are narrow but the view compensates.

It is a really comfortable place to stay with great food and service. Vijler boasts to be the highest village in the Netherlands! Nice walks around the area. It is very convenient for visiting Aachen.

Friendly welcome, excellent large room, warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water. Dog was also made very welcome

There was nothing we didn't like

The personnel was very flexible with my later arrival. Breakfast is superb and comes with a wide view from the restaurant.

Nothing, it was my third stay in the Vijlerhof, just love this hotel.
