The hotel is small, quiet and cozy. It is only a 10 minute walk from the beach and the railroad station. The all mature gentlemen staff (that we met) was very kind and helpful. There's a well equipped reading lounge. The continental breakfast (included in the rate!) has a good selection and the breakfast coffee is excellent. Definitely a hotel that is very good value for money!

Proper bedside reading lamps would be helpful for older eyes :-)

The stuff is so friendly and helpful the whole time, reception is 24h open. The location is great just a couple of minutes from the beach. There was a place to store my e bike during my travel. The breakfast at the restaurant was nice with very good ambient atmosphere with alot of figures of animals and birds. I have even forgot something and they sent it to me by the post for free. I would like to thank the owner of the hotel.

The room is a little bit small.

I loved the authentic old world Dutch ambience. It's what I came to the Netherlands for. I experienced it as comfortable and serviceable and hope it is maintained and not renovated. The delightfully eccentric touches included sculpted clouds on the ceiling of my room. I loved the over the top decoration of the the breakfast room. It helped to wake me up each morning. There was a generous spread with Dutch style egg salad my favourite. The staff were welcoming at all times, and the value for money was what motivated me to choose the Hotel Hoogland.

Wow! what a treasure this lovely hotel is. Its really different, fab quirky decor, huge comfortable bed, we even had a whirlpool in our large bathroom as well as a great powerful shower. Extra touches like matching bathrobes and apples alongside the tea and coffee showed further thought and care…breakfast is included too and the breakfast was good, even had cumin cheese on the menu. The breakfast room is a sight to behold, too, unique decor brings a smile to your face. A few minutes walk to the beach and around a 15 -20 minute walk to the train station. Will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Very Cool Hotel, definitely unusual with lots of character. Good choice of breakfast, and great strong coffee to set you up for the day. Very clean, and I was lucky enough to have a balcony with my room for my 5 night stay. Ideal location only a few mins walk from the beach front and the centre of town with various shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Very affordable, I will definitely be coming back to stay in Hotel Hoogland on my next trip to Zandvoort with my friends.

Nice comfortable hotel! Nice and friendly staff! I checked in there for four days and we found ourselves very welcome there! Breakfast was good too. It's not far from the beach and there is someone on site It was a great experience. The breakfast staff is amazing and takes care of you.

The room was bright and had all the usual facilities, and the included breakfast was excellent. But what made my four nights so special was the over-the-top kitsch Dutch ambience that was lovingly created by the hosts.

Very different but fun. Lots of pictures and items that you wouldn't normally see at a hotel. Great to stand out from the rest. 24hr reception, so you don't have to worry about your keys being lost or stolen. Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Very close to the town centre. Clean and tidy. Lots of character.

No lift and lots of stairs.

The location of this hotel is great for what I wanted it for. I was visiting the Zandvoort Circuit and the hotel is within a 30 minute leisurely stroll. The walk is along the beach and it's a great way to wake yourself up. If you're looking to impress your lady then this may not be the hotel for you, it's basic but that's all I needed as a lone traveller for the racing.

My only wish is that the single rooms had it's own toilet. It has a shower and a basin but no toilet. Although I knew this from previous stays at the hotel. I go for location as opposed to comforting facilities. So it is not really a dislike, it's more of giving others the idea of what they can expect.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options, coffee was great. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, they loaned us a phone charger and provided somewhere to stow our bikes.

The price, but it was no more than we expected on a Grand Prix weekend.
