This was a spacious townhouse-style accommodation with all of the essentials plus a few lovely touches to make our stay very comfortable. This location is in the higher price range but well worth it for the location and space. Great to have access to a washing machine and dryer to be able to do some laundry as well as the essential cooking facilities and cookware to prepare meals in house or a local restaurant list if planning to eat out. The accommodation is a short walk from the water front and pioneer lane. Despite the main road being located fairly close, there was no traffic noise and the venue is very quiet at night. Only a short drive to nearby observatory for keen stargazers. High quality accommodation that really sells itself. Out of the many beds we have slept in on our journey around the South Island, these were particularly comfortable.

The accommodation would be enhanced by a local coffee sample or an espresso machine. Moccona sachets don’t quite hit the mark. Only minor and likely only an issue for the coffee-enthusiasts among us.

Lovely little townhouse in a great location. We were pleasantly surprised at how big the place was. Everything was really nice and clean. There was both a washer and a dryer in the garage which was also a pleasant surprise. We checked in after hours and the process was still pretty straightforward and smooth.

Two out of three rooms were set up with double beds when we arrived; as we were a group of 4 singles and 1 couple, we had to separate the beds in one of the rooms ourselves. But this was relatively easy to do and we could find enough sheets and bedspreads to accommodate this so it wasn’t much of a bother. When separated into singles the beds were really small, but for a one-night stay it was fine.

The lady who greeted us at reception was wonderful!

The accommodation and facilities are lovely. This was my fourth stay here so that tells you we like it. On this occasion we found the gas fire was lovely but the timer was not our favourite thing. We also needed a bit of additional heat downstairs but the plugs near the kitchen where the wall heater attaches didn’t work. We used a freestanding heater we found in the garage and that helped immensely. Great place to stay - would recommend it for families or friends travelling together.

Each of the units was huge, heaps of lounge and dining space, plus outside dining area in enclosed courtyard. Great facilities, everything we needed. Really good kitchen and bathroom, spacious bedrooms, very comfy beds.

The oven in our unit wasn’t working, but management was apologetic and helpful. Also the barbecue had only one burner working, which was pitiful, but again, if previous guests hadn’t told management there was no way they could know. They were going to work on fixing both problems after we reported it.

Such a great location, and a walk through the connecting park was full of bunnies on the way to the church of the good shepherd, it was about a 10minute walk. we were lucky enough to see snow fall and blanket the town this night. We enjoyed the hot spa and attempted the 5-7 degree pool. the chlorine was high in the spa so dont stay in it too long or you smell of it, but worth it! The kitchen had everything we needed to do our own cooking. the laundry washer/dryer were handy. heating was really good

i stayed in the spa too long and smelt like chlorine but thats being picky, this place was really good

Superbly comfortable accommodation with all the details and features needed for our winter stay. The area had snowed under the night before we arrived and the staff were hard at work clearing the snow off the roads. The house had heating appliances in every room, which we really appreciated. The location was excellent, being just down the road from the famous Church and a short drive to Tekapo's restaurants and attractions.

The house was clean and ready for our visit. We needed more utensils in the kitchen as we were planning to cook for the duration of the stay. Everything about the apartment is nice. its proximity to the shops, gas stations, highway and Lake Tekapo is very close by. I was hoping that this apartment is on the Lakefront but its not. If you are looking for something facing the lake, then Blue Water Peppers would be the choice If you haver senior citizens with you and cant climb the stairs then this would be difficult for them since the bedrooms are on the second floor

Small insects were coming inside the house all the time. The bathroom was full of them.

Very spacious, comfortable and very well appointed apartment. King bed was heaven to sleep on Great bbq Really nice heated pool and hot tub Very easy, close walking distance to lake, Church of Good Shepherd, cafes restaurants, shops and supermarket.

Attention to detail could be better. Oven door fell off and glass smashed Two lamps had no globes Showers in both bathrooms leaked out onto bathroom floors Lounges under cushions were full of food crumbs biscuits (not cleaned)

The unit was spacious and comfortable with a well-apointed kitchen, well-apointed bathroom with separate bath and shower and two WCs. The bedrooms were also spacious and comfortable. The views were excellent and the use of the garage was an unexpected bonus. The location was excellent within a five minute walk of the centre but far enough away to be more peaceful.

The propoerty was great but geting very slightly tired and could do with recarpeting. There was no air-con in the bedrooms which may becoome an issue in the hotter months. However, the unit was clean and well appointed and these items would provide even more icing on the cake.

We have stayed at the Mantra a few times - we like the set up for the rooms upstairs and social activity downstairs. Hosts were happy to help and impart local knowledge - the location is a little out of the township but still walk able and you are in walking distance from the church and lake - Thanks for a great stay! - Be aware there are stairs upto the bedrooms - but the rooms are comfortable and I enjoyed watching the snow-falling outside from the windows - thanks for a great stay!

Unfortunately the previous persons staying there had cooked a curry - a very spicy curry that i believe the smell permeated in EVERY inch of the rooms - as our stay was in Oct it was a bit to cold to have the windows open too much to air out the townhouse. This is not the error with the establishment - but recommend a can of glen20 or a gas mask under the sink may be an idea Cheers :-)
