The location is perfect. We used to stay in hotels with Lake Tekapo right in front of us and staying here gave us a better and more beautiful perspective of the lake and the mountains surrounding it. The facilities are clean, new and modern. The staff are very accommodating and cheerful. We were appreciative of the warm greetings they did in the room for our honeymoon. We also loved the breakfast. The breakfast space is small so you have to book in a timeslot or have it served in your room which we didn’t mind and is a good service as it is still unlimited. The cooked items is ordered and not served at the buffet table so it is always given fresh and warm though served after a couple of minutes from ordering. Overall, we had a relaxing and welcoming stay here.

The woman (so sorry, didn’t catch her name) on the front reception on the desk was so friendly, kind and welcoming! She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our stay and she made our whole experience at this hotel so special! Thank you! :) The lakeside room view with the sky light is absolutely amazing, the views are so stunning. The breakfast that was included was really good and you are able to eat in your room to enjoy the lake view! The staff were all really kind and helpful. The location is very central with a short walk to the lake and all the shops. I was actually sad to leave this hotel because the whole stay here was so lovely! Will definitely be coming back again!

The location was convenient to town and walks, the view from our bedroom window was postcard perfect, as we were on the second floor there was a skylight above our bed to see the stars at night, with a motorised screen for while you slept. Very comfortable king size bed. The breakfast was excellent plenty of choices and you could either have room service or go to the small dining room if you wished.

One very small thing I’ve noticed while travelling around NZ a lot of places provide shampoo but not conditioner I find that strange when your providing toiletries but just worth mentioning for other travelers trying to travel light.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the lake and snow-covered scenery right outside our window, the location truly turned into a magical winter wonderland. Breakfast was delicious and a lovely start to our day, host was warm and welcoming. The location was fantastic- peaceful, scenic and well connected. Highly recommend this place for anyone, looking for relaxing and memorable getaway.it was wonderful experience and would love to stay here again.

Lovely place in Tekapo. The second time we chose to stay there. First time with the skylight and second time with my parents in one of the apartments with fully equipped kitchen. We loved everything about it! Breakfast was amazing, and the service is exceptional. They are so nice that they even posted me a shampoo I left in the bathroom, and were so lovely. I couldn't recommend this place enough, and I want to come here every time I come to Tekapo. Thanks guys! You exceed all the expectations! beyond amazing!

We loved our stay here. Check in was easy and the staff were super friendly. The rooms were spacious, beds super comfy and the shower was great. The skylight and lake view were superb. Breakfast in the room overlooking the lake is a must and it was a good size to kick off the day. Ample car parking space. Short walk to Lake Tekapo but out of the way enough not to have a lot of pedestrians wandering around. It was a shame about the cloudy weather, but still had some great views. Would fully recommend.

Location of the hotel was excellent, as it is a short 1min away from the main city area, so it’s quiet and dark enough at night that we were able to view the night stars from our room. The hotel room is spacious and bed is comfortable. Breakfast consisted of free flow cooked hot breakfast (items on the menu for your choosing). Dining room is slightly small, so you may need to wait for a table at times. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Shower hot water supply was great, but the pressure of the shower can be improved.

The location of the hotel was good with beautiful views across the lake. It looked like a newish property with clean and comfortable rooms - which were somewhat characterless and unremarkable, but did the job. We stayed there one night and have no complaints. The skylight above the bed was a nice touch.

The room had the basic amenities - but for the price we were paying, and relatively to similarly priced properties that we stayed in across New Zealand - we felt that that it was a bit basic. We payed almost the same (in fact less) for a room at the George in Christchurch using Booking.com as we did for the Galaxy boutique hotel and the experiences between the two is incomparable. The Galaxy is functional and perfectly ok for a one night stopover stay. But we did think it was overpriced.

Property is in a very good location, around a nice 10 min walk into the town area/ the famous church. Lovely view from the room out on to the lake and if you’re lucky enough to be on the 2nd floor there is a skylight where you can view the stars. A nice touch. Breakfast also good. You order what you want so little wastage, which is a good idea. The staff are also very friendly. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was very helpful with some tips on where to walk etc.

Nothing not to like

The hotel is quite new and has a clean, modern appearance with a good view of Lake Tekapo. The rooms are comfortable and they offer a simple breakfast in your own room which is convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The cost of the stay was expensive and I cannot say we got value for money. (compared with many other places we stayed on our holiday) In addition, our room was on the lower floor and did not have the skylight or bathroom window as mentioned by others.
