Friendly staff. Right from booking to check out, all communication with the hotel management was easy to understand and follow. While there is no physical reception office, the hotel manager is just a call away. She is courteous and prompt with her communication. I was checking in after hours, and all instructions were provided upfront.  I travelled in winter, so staff were kind enough to have the room warm, and it just made a world of difference.  Rooms are modern, large with a kitchen on entrance. It was v clean and tidy. The kitchen had two gas burners, equipped with the usual cutlery, pots, pans , knife set, bar fridge, kettle and a toaster. Kitchen has a large basin to wash those large pans with convenience. Lots of plug points to charge all your gadgets. The room also has a large comfy bed and a large tv.  The ensuite is also modern with heated towel rack. Each room has its own gas water heating system which provides such nice constant hot water and the amazing water pressure made showers enjoyable in Lake Tekapo's negative temperatures.  The split aircon in the room is also a modern Mitsubishi one. For convenience a sofa, round table with two chairs has also been provided.  All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay and after a full day of hiking, I used to look forward to return back to my room to relax, unwind and re-energise for another day of adventure. I stayed here for 3 nights. Car parking is available next to the block of units/rooms and if thats occupied there's ample available on the street.  The main street, Rapuwai Lane, with all the restaurants/shops, Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Tekapo are less than 5 mins away by car.  If you are visiting Lake Tekapo, I highly recommend booking your stay at the Skyrim Lodge. You will not regret it.

It's a complete little unit just up the road from the center of 'town'. It has everything -- a little kitchen stocked with essentials, clean and fully functional bathroom, sliding door, little sofa, streaming services. Just a great cozy little place. No contact with humans at all -- there's a keycode for the door, and everything is handled by a staff with a little van who comes to take care of all these little holiday houses. Honestly, it works well. The location overall is great -- gorgeous lake, mountains, hiking, and this is a perfect base for exploring.

Slightly awkward for all the guests to park their cars in the little space, but it's really not a big deal.

Lovely unit, new and clean. Nice eco-store shower gel and shampoo in bathroom. Heat pump was turned on in the room when we arrived which was great as it was so cold and had been snowing. Easy keyless entry with a code.

It was quite expensive for what it is, quite basic. As quite expensive I would have thought that beds would have electric blankets as it gets very cold in Tekapo. Because of the price I thought that there would be a better selection of tea and coffee, a coffee plunger and plunger coffee or a Nespresso maker is the usual in a unit this price and a biscuit is always a nice touch.

The studio was new and very clean. It was one of the smaller ones we have stayed in while in NZ and one of the most expensive. But then the area seemed to be expensive in general. It was quiet at night and the beds were comfortable. We asked and were allowed to leave our luggage in the studio about 1 hour before the normal check-in time.

My husband felt that the property should have provided better coffee - at least plunger coffee instead of just instant. They also said you could get clean towels, but implied that you had to be there between 9 and 9:30am to do so. This was not a problem for us as we were only there for 2 nights, but for a longer stay, there should have been another option as most people are out and about during the mornings. We traveled to Lake Tekapo on the bus and walked to Skyrim Lodge from the bus stop. It is almost 2km, and uphill on the first part, so having a car would be better if you want to stay here.

Very clean and well presented little room. It was easy to check in with details received by email on the day we arrived. There was a well set up kitchen area. The bathroom was small but had a heater, heated towel rack and a lovely shower. The table was squashed in the corner and was very small. The heating was excellent.

The beds were very hard which may suit others but I like a soft bed. It had an electric blanket and a thick, heavy duvet which kept us warm but felt too heavy. It was a lovely room with everything we needed provided but we felt it was a bit small and compact. It would be perfect for one person. The TV wouldn’t work which we reported.

The apartment was extremely clean on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed to cook a meal. Kitchen/bathroom facilities were modern and very nice. Shampoo/body wash/hand soap provided + heated towel rail was a nice touch. Apartment was very cosy with a heater plus electric blankets to make sure we stayed warm with all the snow around town. Staff were super friendly came to check if we needed anything which we appreciated. Short drive to town/the lake, in a great spot among other holiday apartments. Lots of windows to appreciate the view of the mountains.

We loved everything about our stay, the fact it was a little bit out of town was fine and made it more special when we stepped out at night and could see the molky way! The bed was very comfortable, the sofa was a bonus, the heated light in the bathroom was a nice surprise and very appreciated and it was sooo quiet, which is bliss when travelling as you never know what to expect. The staff were nice and replenished everything that we asked for. Would recommend to anyone!

The icing on the cake would be later check out - 10am is so early!

The finish is of a high standard and seems newly renovated - in fact we could see that the complex as a whole is still being developed (this was in no way a detriment to our stay). It’s about a 15 minute walk from the town centre and at the back of the complex.

The key code entry is a little buggy, I personally prefer keys but you get the knack of it soon enough. There were a few snags from the renovation, eg holes drilled in the tiles etc that could be tidied up but overall it was a really high spec and we were really pleasantly surprised.

Room and kitchenware and everything is new. There are two electric blankets (single pax) in the double bed. They use passcode to open the door which there is no check in process at all. Self contained kitchen with a missing chopping board. It’s located to our star gazing meeting location which we didn’t expect. - only 5 minutes drive (cos you need to drive in completely darkness though distance is only 700m)

Should install something at window cos lots of moth flying in. And should place a dust bin in toilet and floor mat for shower cubicle
