Excellent location with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was fantastic! Very spacious, lovely comfy bed, large spa bath at the end of the room with a large ensuite bathroom with a shower. The kitchen area was perfectly adequate. We were able to park right outside our door. The guy on the reception was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We only stayed one night but would have been very happy to stay for longer. Whanganui is a really nice town with plenty to see and do. We were touring New Zealand and re-tracing steps from many years ago when our children were young and we visited the nearby Kowhai Park.

There was nothing about this hotel we didn't like.

A lovely friendly welcome on arrival.The motel room was exceptionally clean,it included a huge spa bath ,which would have been fun to use, except we were too busy, perhaps another time.The location was very central,with lots of supermarkets and restaurants near by.

We were in one of the top floor units,, quite close to the main road.The traffic is very busy and created a lot of road noise until quite late at night,and then it would start up again very early in the morning,which disturbed our sleep.Prehaps the back units wouldn't hear the Street traffic.

The rooms were spacious, well maintained and extremely clean. They had everything as promised and matched the pictures. As a standard, they provide a small kitchenette in room with cutlery, microwave, mini fridge and a coffee set. The room had a heater, air conditioner, television and also a working jacuzzi. Fresh towels were provided with amenities except a shaving kit. The wardrobe had a hair drier and iron with iron board. The staff were extremely friendly and kept a good eye for anything left behind post check-out. Room has instruction manual for everything, including the air conditioning and all electronic equipment. A small booklet was provided with guide to Whanganui. The property is placed at a perfect location, right next to major supermarkets and fuel stations, the Whanganui town is about 15mins walk from the location. Although there is no restaurant on-site, fast food joints are right next to it within walking distance and so is Whanganui town as mentioned.

King exec suite perfect for family with seperate bedroom that can close off- great if you’ve got kids needing to go to bed earlier. Sound proof, clean, excellent shower and amazing huge spa bath. Loads of extra pillows and blankets, and portacot for baby. Felt cosy and lush. Offered milk for free on arrival, quick easy check in. Balcony with outdoor seating. Plenty of parking.

Very minor- Some of the bulbs in the room were the cool white which isn’t great when trying to get kids to wind down- way too bright and that blue-white harsh. But a relatively minor thing and managed to turn on a few that were warm white. No icetray in freezer for drinks. But again, minor, would def stay again.

Double bed was middle film with the single beds soft. All great. The spar bath was a double and brilliant. If you smoke then outside is good. We only stayed one night as we were passing through. But would have loved to stay longer. If we ever find ourselves in this area again then we will be staying here without a doubt. It’s much better than many hotels I’ve stayed at. Get yourself a deluxe room, you wont regret it. Whilst near to a main/busy road we hardly noticed the traffic. Also the curtains were very good and blocked out most of the light, even during the day. Best motor lodge ever.

We again stayed in room three on the ground floor - we stay at the motel whenever we travel to Whanganui. The motel was spotlessly clean, the room area is very large with a large spa bath as well as a separate shower and toilet. The room did not have a. hotplate/stove but did have a microwave. The staff were superb, friendly as well as being very welcoming. The room contained quite dark furniture but was very comfortable. The motel is in the main street very close to supermarkets. There was excellent parking for our vehicle. The television viewing offered an excellent selection.

The only very minor complaint is there being no hotplate or oven. There are no other areas other than this very smallish issue.

Comfy bed, very spacious room, very clean. Very friendly, helpful and fair hosts. I did not need the huge whirlpool in the room, but it may be very nice for others.

I was in Room No.1. If possible, avoid that room, and choose one on the top floor further away from the street - that room was very noisy, as it's directly adjacent to the main road. I guess any other room offers nothing to complain about

Very clean and comfortable. Staff were great. Great location right by supermarket. Love the fact when you get milk, it’s actually a little container of more rather than those little punnets!

Maybe all parks could be numbered to the corresponding units so you don’t scramble for a park when the complex is full. My apartment in the bathroom had a lot of paint peeling off so bathroom could do with a little bit of of tlc. My parents one wasn’t as bad though.

The room was huge and well laid out. It was very clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The property is situated next to a New World supermarket and across the road from a Pak n Save and Countdown. It is very convenient to the road in from Wellington and the road to New Plymouth. Victoria Ave is Whanganui’s main street.

We are not spa bath people so we didn’t use the bath that used a large area in the room. The motel has spa baths in each room. Not close to any cafes but we had a car so it really wasn’t an issue.

Unusual type of accommodation for Europeans - motel - car directly under the window or in front of the accommodation. All in all, a very spacious and clean room with a balcony, but with the small disadvantage of 1 floor without a lift, so we had to carry all our luggage up and down the stairs. There was a large jacuzzi in the room and it worked. The accommodation was only without breakfast, which wasn't too bad in the end, as we found a local very nice place in town with a very good, high quality, but not cheap, breakfast menu.

The shower in the bathroom had a strange shower head. On the bed there was a partial blanket with imitation bear (?) hair (I hope artificial), which made an unpleasant impression - impossible to clean well between customers, and a magnet for dirt. Another negative was the necessity to leave by 10 o'clock, which is probably typical for New Zealand, but untypical for Europe (mostly by 12:00).
