Great location about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. The 6th floor suite was comfortable with a fantastic view over the harbour from the alcove plus a small patio. Buffet breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice of cereals, bread, cooked items and fruit. Reception staff were helpful and always friendly. The hotel was clean and the room was serviced well everyday with fresh towels and toiletries as needed. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

The shower was small and the curved screen didn’t reach the floor so water leaked underneath. The tiled edge of the shower tray was difficult to see and a trip hazard when getting towels from the rail. A shower over a full-sized bath would be better. There was an open wardrobe which meant looking at your clothes when in the sitting room. The restaurant wasn’t open on Sundays.

Thon Hotels seem to be a chain of solid nice mid-range hotels in Norway catering to a mix of tourists and business travelers. This one is nicely located in a charming part of the town. We booked the "business double" room which gets you not only extra space, but a lovely bay window that looks over the little marina and lighthouse, and was quite a delight. The room was clean and comfortable, and thoughtfully efficient. The breakfast buffet was good, and included a special section of gluten-free products which made my celiac husband happy. (They even had a dedicated toaster.) Underground parking was available for a fee, and included some EV charging stations on the Mer network (one of the major Norwegian charging station networks).

No complaints - very happy here.

Modern style hotel, small but adequate size room for a night or two. Very small bathroom but efficiently designed and functional, adequate counter space and a small walk-in shower. Downtown location convenient to all points of interest. Parking in garage under the hotel, $25 per night. Very tight getting into and parking very tight parking spaces. Exceptional breakfast buffet with a large selection of food items.

Nothing negative to say other than the hallways on the room floors are not very attractive. Thon is a budget hotel so you can’t be picky, they provide the essentials.

-quaint location, not too far from downtown and cruise area, quiet and away from crowds -breakfast quality good -rooms large enough and modern and clean -daily housekeeping - my family had dinner twice in the hotel and the svc was good.

- lack of room slippers (only superior rooms have this) -while staff attended to our questions, they seem hasty and overworked - i managed to snag free parking just outside the hotel but would advise driving guests to plan in advance as lots outside the hotel are free from 4pm to 8am (hence popular- only 5 lots). U can also easy pay for parking outside those hours using the easypark app.

Delicious hot and cold breakfast buffet. Very comfortable bed, with a marvelous view of the canal from both our room and the breakfast area. Wonderful coffee available in the lobby 24/7 — even the decaf was tasty. Kind staff. Great location for walks by beautiful art nouveau buildings near the canal. Close to nice restaurants (we enjoyed Anno). A 15 minute walk to the port for a fjord boat tour (we went with Visit Geiranger), and a similar walk to a local bus (to the folklife museum, just outside of town).

The ease with which the check-in was done.

Special treatment was given for those guests who had booked Superior Rooms vs those who booked Standard Family rooms , in terms of extra Toiletries being provided such as Body wash, shampoo, Conditioner, Body lotion, to name a few. This did not go down too well with me or my family. This type of discrimination should not happen + charging 250NOK per day from guest who want to park in the hotel premises (this is quite surprising)

We were staying here one night, 8 people and everyone enjoyed it. The location in the centre and by the water is very nice. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the bathrooms were very big. The beds were comfortable and not too soft which is a big plus (even that one bed was regular double bed and the second bed was a sofa, still it was comfortable). What was the best was breakfast and the view from the restaurant! Very very tasty, huge variety of foods and drinks.

The only disadvantage was a parking. It was right below the building but extremely tiny and busy. We had a very hard time parking Toyota Rav4 there, the entrance and parking spaces were really tiny. Also a minus that me and my partner went for a drink at night, we ordered Aperol Spritz and it was the worst ever. Actually, it wasn't Aperol Spritz. It was something weird, more like Fanta in color and taste...

Location was just perfect in the centre of Alesund, in walking distance to the main canals. I did not have views to the fjord from my room because it was the standard one, but I could enjoy them while having dinner in the hotel restaurant as well as at breakfast time. These views are delightful and have an added value. Both dinner and breakfast were top quality. The sirloin I had for dinner was the best one I had in the country. Congratulations! All the products at breakfast were fresh, good and tasty. There were so many options that it was hard to take a decision about what to eat! High quality sleep!

Carpark is a nightmare. We got to the hotel at 17.30, a time I consider not late at all. But there were only 2 parking spaces available, and of course they were the worst. All the parking spaces are very narrow, with columns and/or obstacles. There are two rooms in the parking place and to pass from one to the other, you need to move your car through an iron narrow door, which makes it terrible, and to make it worse, we had to do it into reserve because there was no other way. My husband is a skilled driver, thank god, but he said it was something not acceptable to pay 23 euros. We talked to other guests who were there and they thought the same as us. My grade for this hotel is a 9, not a 10, for this horrible parking.

Parking car in basement garage. Very tight awkward entrance and only 4 charging points which we. Couldn’t use. Had to charge car a 10 minute walk away for fast charging.

The best experience you could ever have! Very friendly and helpful team, great communication. Clean and tidy room every day, with everything you need for your comfort. Perfect breakfast- good choice of dishes, healthy and tasty ( I think I have gained few kilos - couldn't stop eating 😁) The views while having breakfast are so beautiful. We were so relaxed after several days, that when we got to the airport we realized that some of our luggage is left in the room. But hotel team helped out us quickly. There is everything under control, you just come and relax 🌼 Definitely we will choose only this hotel next time.
