This hotel is outstanding from the staff who were excellent to the refurbished hotel which has been done to keep its charm. There is a carpark building next to the hotel which is very convenient. It is a short walk into the charming town of Arendel to enjoy a meal Harbourside or enjoy a supper at the hotel we had a hearty soup and bread along with eggs, salmon and a hot potato mix. It was perfectly adequate for our needs. We have been touring around Norway for 2 weeks and this hotel would rate as the best hotel we have stayed in throughout our holiday. Well done to the hotel and to the staff.

Nothing everything was excellent

The hotel has an older “grand dame” vibe with maritime themed decorations and heavy dark fabrics with gold lettering. We had booked a family room which gave us a double bed and a sofa bed. The room was small, but the bathroom was quite large and we really liked the location. Beds were comfortable. It was a bit noisy with the window open (a necessity in the warmer summer weather) but later at night it quieted down. We were promised an evening meal but when we checked in we were told the meal would be Thai soup, potatoes and scrambled eggs- a very “interesting” combination that didn't appeal to us. We went into town for food instead. The breakfast was awesome, though, with lots of great selections. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. It was easy to walk to town to sight see and to catch our bus out of town. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Could have used fans both for cooling and background noise. With the window open we heard quite a bit of street noise.

Excellent high end accommodation with very helpful and attentive staff to your needs and questions. Rooms are excellent with plenty of space. it includes a large bed with clean linen and very comfortable pillows. there was a desk with chairs and a good sized bathroom for what we needed. also comes with kettle, mugs, wine glasses and shower accessories. Breakfast was excellent with lots of hot and cold options including cereal, eggs, potato, beans, fresh bread, fruit, pastry, sandwiches and drinks. They also provide a light soup with bread in the evening and then you can have a larger meal out if needed. they have 25% off 4 restaurants around the harbour. Old decor but overall very clean and impressive

The design of the room. Friendly personell. Variety with breakfast. We were very happy in general.

The shower area was too small, so the shower curtain kept sticking to you as you showered - yuck! We ended up folding the shower curtain over the rail and just had to put up with some of the floor getting wet :(

Nice hotel in great location. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Even a light dinner is served at night. TV was utilized with a chromecast - nice to be able to stream from your own devices if you can't understand Norwegian TV. Arendal was unexpectedly nice (we only stayed here to complete our journey to the Ferry in Kristiansand) and we really enjoyed this town. If you have kids, make sure to stop at the floating pool in the marina!

Shower wall is not working well. Full bathroom gets wet. Would be a good improvement option. Can't think of any other improvements. Would definately stay here again.

We felt like in a cruise since the decorum was like on a boat. Nice staff (they solved quickly a problem with our door lock which was blocked), hotel well placed in the center of Arendal with a car park and the harbour at walking distance. Amzing breakfast !

A choice for supper would have been nice but the fish soup offered was lovely with good breads

very nice staff, beautiful hotel in the center of Arendal. next to the hotel is a parking garage. make sure you have the app to pay. the family room was nice.

only the view of the family room was disappointing. looking to a wall. and dogs are allowed, unfortunately not in the restaurant, probably due to health regulations.

Great location. Enjoyed soup and bread suppers.
