Our stay at The Riverhouse Coron was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by Judith, the wonderful owner, and her team. The location itself is breathtaking—nestled in nature, offering stunning river and jungle views, far from the tourist crowds. One of the highlights of our stay was our authentic village experience. We had the incredible opportunity to join a local in their daily activities, from fishing in the traditional way to helping build a “bahay kubo” roof with palm leaves. It was a deeply enriching and humbling experience that allowed us to connect with the local culture in a way that few travelers get to. Another unforgettable moment was the private island hopping tour with Judith and June. Unlike the crowded tours in Coron town, this experience was intimate and personalized. We explored pristine islands, swam in crystal-clear waters, and enjoyed a delicious beachside lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. Judith and June made the experience even more special with their stories, laughter, and deep knowledge of the area. To top it all off, we had a magical fireflies night tour with June. Drifting on a traditional banka along the river in the stillness of the night, surrounded by the glowing fireflies dancing among the mangroves, was truly a breathtaking experience. It felt like a scene from a fairytale—one that we will cherish forever. If you’re looking for an authentic, peaceful, and unique experience in Coron, The Riverhouse is the place to be. It’s not just a stay—it’s an adventure, a cultural immersion, and a chance to create memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

We stayed for one night in March 2024 and we had a lovely time, it was great to have peace and quiet after some busy days in el nido and coron. We took out a kayak in the day and it was one one the best spots as there was no one around and we got to see some great things. In the evening Judith organised for us to go out to see the fireflies and plankton, (we didn’t have high hopes for this as other places had offered this on other trips and there was nothing) this was a magical experience as again we were the only ones on that stretch of water and we saw both very clearly.

Only thing we missed was fishing, we had seen some mention it in previous reviews but we were unable to go out but we went on kayaks instead so not the end of the world

It’s a 10/10 for us! This is our 2nd time visiting Riverhouse . I came last year with my husband and this time, we brought our 2 adult kids. The place is remote but Ms. Judith kindly organised a driver whenever we wanted to go somewhere. She also helped organising tours , and Riverhouse has the best cook! Rooms are spacious, comfortable and has jungle feel with all the birds coming around . There will be for sure, a 3rd visit in the future! Thank you for the warmest welcome.

Really nothing bad to say!

Was here on the north side to dive. There is a reason everyone mentions Judith when reviewing the place, she is lovely and genuinely loves connecting with her guests and making them feel welcome. Nothing is too big of an ask! Rooms are of a high standard for Coron, if you can get the room with a river view do it. AC works well and the rooms are spacious and beds super comfortable. WiFi is only in the lounge but that's fine. Food is really good, home cooked and they do special requests. All the food I asked for take away on dive trips was amazing and packed super well and reasonably priced too. Stay here even if you're not a diver and just want to experience a different side of Coron

Hot water was inconsistent, apparently a special way to get it working I only figured out late in the stay. Sometimes geckos can enter the room and they're quite loud!

The Riverhouse is the best place to stay in Busuanga island. The location is very calm and beautiful, the hosts are very nice and welcoming, food in the restaurant is very fresh and tasty. It was a pleasure to stay in Riverhouse. We will recommend this place to everyone!

We loved the peace and quiet and the view was absolutely beautiful. It was a unique experience staying in the middle of the rainforest and river. The staff took care of arranging our tours and was absolutely wonderful at all times, the kindness and warmth the staff provided is unlike anywhere else in the world. The local firefly and island tours were definitely worth it. Packed lunches and towels were also thoughtfully provided. All the meals we had (whether Filipino or international dishes) were SUBERB! We always looked forward to breakfast. Highly recommend for all travelers to get the real experience of nature plus all the amenities of comfort and cleanliness.

Everything was perfect!

The setting is stunning! I’m so glad I stayed here and took a car into town for Island Hopping, instead of staying in Coron. It was a really peaceful and Judith is just a darling! The students were sweet, just remember they’re in training and some patience may be required.

The isolation (while lovely) limits dining options, not to say there was anything wrong with the food. And for a solo traveller, the car transfer into town was a fair investment, but that was my problem, not theirs!

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The views were incredible, the food was the best we've had in the Philippines and the location was perfect for diving/snorkelling with dugongs. There's a private pier that the dugong operator (dugong dive center) picks you up from. It is out the way from everything else but scooters are cheap to hire (and brought directly to the Riverhouse). If you like wildlife, it's nice for that too. We saw plenty of birds, lizards and a palawan stink badger! Lastly, hot water/pressure was fine. Would highly recommend. I'd love to go back one day.

If I had to be picky.. the aircon isn't the best as it was quite loud but I'm a light sleeper. Take earbuds if you are too.

It's a perfect place to stay on Busuanga. You basically live in a jungle but with a great comfort. We had nice breakfasts included and the manager Judith helped us to organise Coron trip island hopping and scooter rental. You just need to bear in mind that it is pretty isolated place so getting from Coron town there takes around 50 min by tricicle. We stayed in Riverhouse as we wanted to do the dugong watching with the Dugong Dive Center situated nearby.

Judith and her staff are amazing, so helpful and really kind. The hotel is absolutely quiet and in the middle of nowhere, but perfect for a quick stop to recharge after busy travel days. Our room was clean and spacious, a/c worked fine. Wi-fi is only available in the main area but we had stable reception anyway, so that was not a problem. Food was good, many choices also for vegetarians.

The rooms were a little outdated, could use some TLC like a touch of paint. But other than that amazing value for the money!
