A Hidden Gem in Port Barton! I recently stayed at the Green Hostel in Port Barton, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach, making it incredibly easy to enjoy the sun and sea. The rooms are comfortable and nicely maintained, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the common area, which is great for socializing and relaxing. The hostel also offers a variety of activities, which added value. What truly stands out is the helpful and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, offering great recommendations and making me feel right at home. If you’re looking for a charming and well-located place to stay in Port Barton, I highly recommend the Green Hostel. It’s a fantastic choice for backpackers wanting to experience the area’s natural beauty and community!

Super nice and social hostel, without being a party hostel. The common area is really nice to hang out and meet other travelers and there is always activities planned during the week, in case you feel like joining. Overall just a great vibe. The shared bathrooms were kept really clean and the staff was super helpful and friendly. We stayed here for 4 nights in a private, can’t say anything about the dorms ;) The location is a tad bit away from the “center” but really not a problem in my opinion. Port Barton is quite small afterall :)

I had the feeling the hostel might be trying to become a bit more “party”. Might just be my feeling but I hope they won’t because as said right now it’s a really nice vibe :)

Good location, not too far from the town center, just a short walk. ATMs and restos were nearby. The room was spacious, clean, and appeared exactly the same in person vs. the photos online. We liked that it was a social hostel but not a party one, so it was easy to meet people but also get enough sleep since the common area was closed by 10/11pm. We especially appreciated this because our door opened right onto the common area and we could often hear the noise from our room. I think it would be really helpful if they had at least a communal fridge & microwave for guests to use. I also hope they serve (espresso) coffee in the future so we don’t have to buy from or stay in cafes. Wifi was decent. They always have activities so that was nice too. Staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. We would definitely come back.

The staff was amazing, especially Liezel, I haven't even arrived at the hostel yet and she has been very hospitable and accommodating and helped me booked my land travel from the airport to Port Barton on such short notice. I can't remember all of their names unfortunately, but I do remember that the hostel's local staff are all friendly and helpful. It's very rare to book a place that looks the same in the pictures as it is in real life and My Green Hostel was exactly what the pictures showed. My room was actually bigger than I what I expected and I love how they tried to maintain the cleanliness in the hostel (slippers off!). I also appreciate that they assist their guests in booking transportations or boat trips at no additional cost. Like if you want to go on day trips, you can just ask them to call a trike for you and you just pay the drivers directly what their actual rates are. They typically host different events for their guests too but it depends on the occupancy level/season. Location-wise, I think they're about a 10-minute walk to the town proper where most of the accommodations and restaurants are, but there are also some great restaurants in their vicinity. They're also just 5 minutes away from a pharmacy where you can also get snacks or withdraw cash at a nearby ATM. After I checked out, they found out that I left my AirPods in my room and called me. I was going to go back to the hostel to get it but they told me that Liezel will just bring it to me at the van terminal, which I really appreciated.

I hope they invest in better blankets though, the ones they use right now are just flat sheets.

Liezl was amazing and so helpful with recommending me a ride from San Vicente airport and a land tour around the town. Even got to surf during my tour which was awesome! Bed was comfy and had no problems sleeping. They have 4 showers and a changing room and toilets with bidets 🤩 They also have daily activities that encourage you to meet other people and explore the town. Picked this hostel because they offer morning yoga 🧘‍♀️

That I missed their luxury boat tour with massage! 😭 they were still planning on bringing it back when I stayed there and I am just sad I couldn’t experience it. Will just have to come back another time 😂 I’ve heard people complain about the lack of electricity, but people have to understand that it is in a remote part of Palawan and power can be unpredictable.

I had an amazing time at My Green Hostel in Port Barton. The property is clean, peaceful, and has a laid-back vibe that made it a perfect place to unwind. I want to give a special thanks to Yoni, a volunteer from Switzerland, who made my stay even more enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly and helped organize awesome activities like yoga classes, movie nights, kayaking and jogging. His energy and dedication to making guests feel welcome were truly appreciated. If you're looking for a mix of relaxation and fun activities, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Was close to the bus stop and an easy walk to the beach or loads of places to eat. Really good free yoga class in the morning and the communal area was nice for lounging in/working during the day. You can order food but it's made off site so there's charges for delivery

The dorms have interconnected doors so it's actually more like a huge dorm than whats advertised but it was ok. The beds have curtains but they're kind of see through. The bathrooms and showers are near the entrance and the water station is at the bar so it's a little awkward at night if you're trying to get ready for bed with drunk people all around although to be fair the bar does close fairly early at 11

We had a private room and it was so good. The bed is very comfy and the AC works well. Everything is very clean. We had a very good time. The team is super nice and helpful. You can walk everywhere from the hostel. It is very social - we met so lovely people there! We also booked a boat tour with the hostel and it was one of our best experiences in the Philippines. Also booked our scooter for a good price. Also the cocktails are great and the happy hour is a good deal! All in all a great stay and what we heard one of the best options in Port Barton.

Just the water pressure in the showers - but that’s not the hostels fault because it’s everywhere in town. Shower works well during daytime but they also have buckets with water which also works very good as a shower :D

Really great property, fantastic staff. Perfect location, 5-10 walk. Offer a lot of activities and sociable.

I feel the majority of the time we were there, there was either no water or a power cut. At night this was hard as we could not charge our phones and the aircon and fan did not work so we were boiling and unable to sleep. I thought it was across the whole island so could not fault the hotel but talking to friends other places still had power. But considering the price, I can’t complain much. Still a great stay regardless.

I loved this place. Very clean, friendly staff, lots of activities on offer, a cosy communal area, and cute pets! The bed was comfy and there are hooks in the dorm room to hang up your towel - so many places don't have hooks!

There wasn't hot water in the showers during my stay (or at least - during the times I used the showers), but I know there are problems with water availability and electricity in Port Barton in general.
