We spent a week here and got our open water diving licenses with Ben. I felt so safe with Ben, Sonny and Jacob during dives. When I panicked underwater, Ben helped me and calmed me down. He is a very chill but “I got you covered” type of dive instructor. His motto is “Be comfortable”:) As a result, I progressed faster than expected underwater. During my first recreational dive near Sumilon island, I got to enjoy the amazing coral walls, the shark, the sea slugs, the turtle and millions of fishes while in control of my body. Before this, I didn’t even dare to swim in swimming pool. This team is really really passionate about diving, they love it themselves and such love spreads. Also special thanks to Christian, a beautiful and fun girl who took care of us. The chef/driver who drove us to the port to Sumilon island. And to “Nanay”, who’s so charming and cooks so delicious food. Her cooking is fine dining level, with taste, smell and look all amazing. Thanks for opening a new door in my life. I wish when we come back next time, they will have their own boat for diving.

A very well run establishment. The rooms are not particularly big however they are clean, well equipped and have comfortable beds. Food is served outside your room door and is both delicious and reasonably priced. There is a nice pool onsite and the sea runs right up to the property edge. Management are very helpful with travel advice and they operate a professional and affordable dive centre.

The resort itself is as good as it possibly could be. The sea really isn't suitable for swimming except at high tide. It is fun however to spend time with the locals as they dig for clams at low tide. Santander has very little to offer, just another in a string of nondescript towns along the coast. You'll need to head inland to really appreciate the beauty of this part of Cebu

All the staff at Southseas Beach Resort and Dive were extremely kind and helpful. They provided a free pick-up from the bus stop and also dropped us off (they even waited for our bus to arrive and loaded the luggage for us), they provided coffee & water when needed. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served at the room. The resort also had a peddle board and kayak prepared as well as various boardgames. The beds are comfortable and the room, though a tad small, was convenient with all necessities present and provided. Will absolutely return if I am visiting Santander again in the future.

We really enjoyed staying here. The accommodation was very tidy, clean and comfortable. The people running it were extremely helpful and accommodated all our wishes and needs! For instance, breakfast starts at 6am but they had breakfast ready for us one day at 5:45 at our request as we were being picked up at 6:15. And they lend us their diving equipment rack to dry our own equipment. The pool is also beautiful. As the hotel is very little, the preferences of each guest are known and remembered by them. They always looked after us with a smile. Really recommended!

Some of the food items in the menu were not available but to be honest, you can't blame them as it was over Easter and many shops close or probably bring less stock.

Nicely furnished room. Comfortable bed, good pillows, clean quality sheets. Internet plenty fast enough for surfing - we didn't try watching TV. Modern tiled bathroom with hot shower and sink. The accommodation is modern chalets so no worries about noise from neighbours. Mini bar with tea and coffee facilities. All in all, the room is significantly better than what you can usually expect at this price range in the Philippines. The property is directly on a non sand waterfront. The beach is coral pieces, but as soon you are in the water there is a gentle slope covered in soft sea grass so good for young children. The waterfront and sea water are both very clean with no trash on the beach or in the water. Water is transparent, didn't see a single jellyfish. Great to work up an appetite with an early morning swim. We are not divers so cant comment on the dive shop. Wonderful Pacific sunset at night looking over towards Negros and Dumuagette, ideal view when having an end of day drink to celebrate another successful day. Very helpful and welcoming staff who picked us up in Santander town on arrival and took us to Oslob whale shark centre and Tumalog waterfall drop off for taking a motor bike up the hill to the falls. This resort is only about 5 minutes drive from the whale sharks and can definitely be considered an overnight stop of place if on a short visit. The resort has a a good restaurant, so we really enjoyed the two dinners we ate there. And cooked breakfast of course. They serve nice coffee too. No 3 in 1 heartaches!! To sum up. If I ever go back to the area, I would definitely stay here again. You can reserve with confidence

Cons : Santander town is a close walk up the hill, but there really isn't much to do there. If looking for nightlife you might be disappointed.

Sonny looked after us SO well throughout our entire stay. He organised a bespoke diving morning for 2x adults and with babysitting covered on board for our toddler - outstanding! He also gave us a lift to Tumalog falls when another ride was not available. We loved the pool and the room was super comfortable and convenient to the dining area and garden, all close together. Food was amazing and Sonny even went out early in the morning to pick up ingredients to make yummy banana spring rolls as I had requested these after another excellent review. Our son loved the beach and also the resident animals there and over the road - we will be hearing chicken impressions for weeks to come... Can't thank you enough for your hospitality and thank you to Ben too, our awesome dive instructor!

Not much!

One of the best accommodations so far after having traveled for 3 months throughout South East Asia. It is small-scaled (only 3 rooms), so if you’re lucky you can get one. The fact that it is small-scaled means that the personnel knows you by name, is there to help you 24/7 and makes it feel like it is a private accommodation. We have obtained our advanced PADI here and we’re taught by a super skilled and experienced instructor (over 10.000 dives), name is Ben, who was really fun as well. We were very sad to leave! Paradise on earth.

Nothing. It was superb.

Everything about our stay was exceptional. The whole Staff was amazing, especially Sonny and Ben who made sure we had everything and more! They were fixing all of our problems in no time (for example broken car :)) food was amazing and prepared with special care. The pool is also great. If you ever come to Cebu, this is the best place to stay at.

incredibly friendly helpful and wonderful staff who were extremely accomodating from our excellent scuba diving course to offering to post forgotten items. not only a beautiful resort but the staff went above and beyond to make our time there a great one including dropping us off at our bus stop and waiting with us to ensure we got the right one

Everything was perfect. However, this place couldn’t be as good as it was without the manager who was amazing and did everything to make us feel relaxed and welcome. I would definitely return! the bed was also very comfy.

there wasn’t something we didn’t like, but as a recommendation, some mosquito nets would be good.
