The place is gem as it is a family owned complex of 5 tiny houses in the nature. The quality price is very good. To fully enjoy it you need to adapt to the environment and the nature of the place. You will wake up and go to sleep with only the noise of waves. Wifi is super good and each house has its own.

The shower has no hot water and it should be mentioned in the general description.

Amazing place! We got the cabin at the bottom facing the sea and had the most amazing few days. You can rent a bike from Larena port to get here as it is not far, and you need a bike to explore Siquijor anyway. The huts are so comfy and the sea breeze makes them cool without AC so much that we didn’t even need the fan. Power went off a few times during our stay but you really don’t need internet here. You can rent snorkels for cheap from the property and swim out to the incredible reef off the private beach where you can see so much marine life. Staff are all super nice and even invited us to dinner with them one night, and the 3 puppies really made our trip, I hope they are well looked after :)

The tranquillity, remoteness and complete relaxation was immediacy evident on arrival. Absolutely fell in love with everything Villa Alta had to offer. The family at Villa Alta are so completely engaged with all their guests with such warmth, character and care. The location could not be better with views across the Bohol Sea back to Panglao, Bohol and Cebu with such a beautiful vista any time of the of the day. All amenities are at Villa Alta - superb home cooked food, views that excel expectations, lovely self contained accommodation, scooters to rent for exploring the remainder of Siqujour and a coral reef that is superb. Love this place and wish we had more time to stay.

Accommodation might not be to everyone's expectations but embrace what you will experience.

Before I arrived and during my stay communication was easy and helpful. I was happy with the location of my bungalow as they are quite spaced apart in the beautiful garden. I got the one at the front of the cliff which had a far-reaching view over the sea. The room was spacious and simply furnished with a big comfy bed, small bedside table and sturdy shelving unit. The bed linens and towels smelt clean and fresh. The room itself is well ventilated and light with windows on three sides. The view from the little porch was so nice and I liked the table and chairs there to sit and think. Wifi worked fine at the bungalow and I found it even reached down the hill to the waterfront. For snorkelling you have to go out far out (past or parallel with the pole that you can see on the left hand side). Keep an eye out for boats of course. I was happy to meet a turtle out there! Thank you to all of the team for their hospitality and for creating and maintaining such a lovely place to spend time. I wish I had booked for longer and would like to return. Thanks again!

The bathroom probably does get cleaned well but because it’s old it still looks a bit grimy. The drain had a bad smell and there’s barely any ventilation in the bathroom unless you leave the door open. Be prepared for low water pressure. It would be nice to add some more chairs or sun beds down at the beach area. I was there by myself so it was fine, but if more than one person wanted to sit there they would have to perch on the wall and get splashed at high tide!

We had the best time at this accommodation! Spending five nights in a bamboo hut on the beach with a strong wifi was a blast. The family owning the property are some of the loveliest hosts we have ever met. We felt like they every day went an extra mile to make us happy. They helped us to rent a scooter (350p/day) and did our laundry (100p/kg). They make great brewed coffee and cook amazing meals (sweet&sour shrimps and pancakes were our favorites).

Not really a downside, but the accommodation is secluded, so you need a motorbike to get around; the owners can arrange it for you.

Super place. Gorgeous location easy to find. Beautiful gardens. Happy and friendly family. Fabulous fresh home made food cooked for us. Comfy bed and basic but decent facilities. There is a sandy beach right on the doorstep. But if washed up plastic but the sea is clean clear and warm. Sandy bottom. We snorkelled straight out, saw small fish & lots of starfish varieties. And where it gets deeper are schools of fish, barracuda etc . We didn’t see turtles but they are around here eating all the sea grass. Super safe & flat calm. Yes the locals should clear up the beach but it’s not their rubbish it’s stuff brought in by the waves! Thoroughly recommend this place. So relaxing and enjoyable and an eateries also just up the road (ayans).

This place is an excellent choice for those who want a calm peaceful area with great service. Of course you need a scooter to enjoy the area. After 3 weeks in Siquijor, I can recommend to to forget about going elsewhere in the island for snorkeling, they have the best snorkel spot right by your hut, I have never seen anywhere in the world so many different fishes and corals in just 45 minutes. I met a Austrian couple who are professional divers with 20 years experience all over the world and they were as amazed as me. Don´t miss their food, the fried aubergine, garlic rice, fish... Excellent standard of service from all the staff.

The family that runs the villa is really sweet and kind. The food they serve is very good with fresh ingredients carefully and very well cooked, all for an amazing price. The place is really calm and relaxing. In the low tide you can walk on the sea grass and see how locals pick urchins and other seafood. On high tide you can swim and snorkel. There is not really a beach on the common sense. Only a small space with sand. Some garbage come ashore frequently but unfortunately that is usual in these waters. The land around the property needs cleaning of all those plastics that come ashore.

It is quite far from the harbor and from any spot you might want to visit but even if you don’t have a motorcycle one of the family members will act as your driver. This is compensated by the price that is really low. Some long electric breakdowns but that is a problem in this island.

I absolutely loved my stay! The place is very relaxing—perfect for anyone looking to unwind and escape the hustle. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went the extra mile to make my experience even better. Since I was checking in alone, I was having a hard time taking videos for my reels, but they kindly volunteered to help without me even asking. I'm truly grateful for their thoughtfulness and hospitality. Highly recommended for a peaceful and memorable stay!

I love our room at the lowest part of the place. Most of the time we were the only 2 guests there. Other rooms are at higher floor. Room #4 is old and basic. We stay there because of the privacy and stunning views. Sunset and sunrise. Just wow! Can see local fishermen going on with their daily life. Dinner was good and cost slightly more than 200 Peso per dish. Water refill 10 Peso per 1 liter. Great services from the staff.

They should use cleaning liquid or even detergent to clean the toilet and wash basin. Maybe they can have a sticker with an email address or something similar at Reception so guests can contact them. The shy lovely lady can’t speak English but the other 3 persons spoke well.
