Wow, what a wonderful oasis while walking the Camino de Santiago! We arrived at 2pm and called the property. They said our room was ready and we could check in early. The staff there was so nice and helpful. Our room was a studio with a nice kitchenette, a very comfortable bed, dining table, sitting area, desk, very good shower, and a balcony. There were nice outdoor sitting areas and a small pool shared by all of the rooms. We purchased the meal package that included both dinner and breakfast. The tuna salad, bread and wine with dinner were all very good. Then the staff brought breakfast to our room that night so we could eat and take off whenever we wanted in the morning. The breakfast was a huge and tasty feast - yogurt, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, breads, juice, and more. We were tired after our walk in very hot weather that day. Our stay at Villa Rio rejuvenated us for the next day's walk. I highly recommend it to other pilgrims as a great option to break up the long stage between Azambuja and Santarem.

Very comfortable beds, nice staff that let us stay a bit longer than check-out, cozy outdoors lounge with the pool, and the kitchen had all the necessary utensils for day to day cooking.

Given it was one of the hottest days of this summer, we were disappointed with the fact that the ACs didn’t work (wonky controls)

The property is beautifully made and decorated. The studio we stayed at was on the first floor and had everything we could think off. A well equipped kitchenette, a comfortable bed and a good shower. The breakfast was brought to the room in a basket and was wonderful. The pool looked inviting but the weather wasn’t helping.

It can be a bit hard to park in the street if the house, at times…

We loved our stay! The whole place is so cute and well-designed. The room was spacious, super clean and had everything we needed plus some!

The only tiny issue we had was the bed was quite small for two people. Even so, I’d still go back. We loved the place!

The host, Sylvia, was so welcoming and helpful. She is accustomed to pilgrims walking the Camino and serves them and their needs with warmth and kindness. The courtyard around the pool is cosy and conducive to socialising with other guests.

Wonderful place to stop on the camino. A little bit of luxury, too, pamper yourself. 😀 Our room had a kitchenette so we could cook ourselves dinner and breakfast.

The dinner and breakfast option I thought was too expensive. So I didn't take it up.

Pool well needed after long Camino walk from Vila Franca. Comfortable and well thought out apartment with everything you need. The pool and sun bathing area were great too!

Nice setting around the swimming pool. Easy going staff for the check in and check out. Modern hotel nicely located near the Rio river where you have chill bars and nice restaurants.

Swimming pool a bit noisy and bottle of water in the room could have been free considering heat wave and middle of August

This is very beautiful place, extremely welcoming and helpful staff! Silvia and her staff are lovely people and the accomodation is first class! I highly recommend staying here, it has all you want and more!

Although our stay was short we were very impressed by this beautiful and relaxing little hotel. Clean, bright, spacious and tastefully decorated rooms. Beautiful, quiet and tranquil pool space with seating, lounge chairs, umbrellas. Kitchen/ snack bar on site for food and drink (pay extra)
