Location was idyllic, pretty houses and grounds well spaced out. The sea was beautiful for swimming, best I have experience in a long time Food in the restaurant was excellent, fish perfectly cooked. Room was big, clean and great view of the sea. Such a chilled, relaxed environment. Would definitely stay again.

I think if they cleared a bit of the greenery on the beach (just a couple of metres) the beach would be even more attractive. As per other reviews, bathrooms could be benefit from being updated, but then the price would likely increase.

The Oualie Beach Resort is a very comfortable, family run, small resort on a private beach in Nevis. It is a series of rooms and cabanas, with plenty of space in between them, located along a private beach. The centerpiece of the resort is a bar restaurant. It's open from breakfast in the morning through late evening cocktails. The bar is a locals meeting place for people that live on the North End of Nevis. They have an open microphone night on Tuesdays, where musicians from all over the island come to play. We stayed one week during Easter. We had a king room with a view of the beach, and ate mini meals and had many drinks in the bar and restaurant. If The Four Seasons resort is your cup of tea, getting dressed up for every meal, spending $250 on a dinner for two, then the Oualie Beach resort is probably not for you. If you like a place where the staff knows your name, where you can walk over to breakfast in your pajamas and flip flops, and where you meet locals hanging out at the bar, this is the place. There is a dive shop right on the premises. They have all the equipment that you need for scuba and snorkeling. I can't say enough good things about Caesar the dive master. He is a skilled professional, he keeps everybody safe, and provides a very enjoyable trip. There is also a bicycle shop for rentals, and the facility to rent sailboats. One story: We caught some fresh seafood while diving and wanted to throw a BBQ for all of our friends in Nevis, The resort provided the BBQ, the charcoal , the plates and silverware, the salads and the beer and the wine, and all of the kitchen tools that we needed. As it turned out friends invited friends and it turned out to be a pretty large group, what could possibly be better than ha....Q with your best friends on the beach?

There was a west wind one day a lot of seaweed washed up on the beach. And there are a few mosquitoes although the resort keeps a couple of different types of bug spray at the bar.,

November 2023

I spent 3 nights at Oualie Beach Resort recently. During this time (low season) there were only a handful of people staying but that made the stay even better as it felt like I was staying at my own personal quiet retreat. It is situated at a wonderful location on the beach with fantastic views of St Kitts. It is a little way out of town so a car would be useful but it is easy enough to get a taxi and I understand that there are bus stops nearby. All the staff that I met were helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, well furnished and ideally sized. I was lucky enough to be able to have a closeup view of the monkeys feeding outside my bedroom windows each morning. I did'nt see the cows but the wild donkeys surprised me on my walk to the restaurant in the dark! I had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant and all the meals were very good. The music was also good with the local residents coming over to enjoy the entertainment. All in all I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it as a quiet haven. I would be happy to stay there again.

At 5'7"even I had difficulty getting up onto the Queen size bed - a step would have been helpful. The room was spotless with the exception of the freezer drip-tray that was dirty. There was a TV (Fire) but no instructions in the room and on the 2 times I mentioned this I was told: a) Someone would leave me a manual, did'nt happen b) I was told it was a new system and only the maintenanceman knew how to use it Not a massive problem for me as I was only stayed a few nights but it would have been good to be able to catch up on the local news etc.

The beach location is perfect, a pretty sheltered bay, safe for swimming, with ample shade and sun beds. A peaceful, very small resort with a variety of room types to suit your needs, all close to the waters edge. The live music sessions are great entertainment and a way to meet like minded people.

There are no other bars or restaurants within walking distance. But it is on a great bus route, there are ample taxis or you could hire a car, driving round the island is easy. The property could do with some TLC in parts, however the management are making efforts to address this.

Located on a coconut palmed lawns directly on a beautiful peaceful beach. The other more luxurious resorts on Nevis are in the mountains far from any beach - except for the super expensive and very corporate 4 Seasons golf resort. Friendly vrry laid back but HELPFUL staff Good food in charming open-air dining room/bar Comfy beds, large bath & shower, great AC Screened porches with gorgeous ocean view Private really good $100 guided 2 1/2 hr tour of Nevis available. Very nice atmosphere - one feels one is getting one's money's worth and made the right choice. Easy walk to dock for shuttle boat to St Kitts south shore (NOT Basseterre ferry though) Charlestown easy $20 taxi ride for Basseterre ferry Great internet in room, dining are, and grounds. Take credit cards and give change for large bills Laundry service (w/o ironing (!!)) Baggage handling.

Very low water preasure. But OK for shower if not really OK for the sink !! Furniture needs repainting - all these tiny nicks, funny actually.

This is a beautiful, local gem. If you want the big resort experience this is not for you. If you want to be steps from the beach, to meet the people of Nevis and experience an island that is not touristy, then this is for you.

More vegetarian options

Beautiful location. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds - although they are quite high- if small you may need a step. Mosquito net supplied is good and effective and, the netting round the balcony helps keep them out too. The food is cooked to order and good quality. Try the traditional Kittitian breakfast or the Calypso omelette, very good. There are musicians in the restaurant in the early evenings which is nice. Coffee machine and quality coffee bags in the room is a nice touch.

There were bicycles advertised as available but, it turned out the activities guy had gone on holiday. It's a small island so I guess he had no-one who could cover for him. So we hired a car instead. A few small aspects of the room could do with repair - e.g had to wedge bathroom window open with a stick as the mechanism had parted company with the wall long before we were there. But let's not forget this is not billing itself as the Marriott or something- it's a mid-class hotel which happens to be in a stunning iconic location. There is a fridge in the room but if you want anything to put in it, e.g. milk, buy it before you get there.

Wish the breakfast was included for the price that I was spending to stay there. The dive shop was open for just 1 day. On that day i had a good time diving with that dive operation.

There was a lack of merchandise in the store . I did a video of the place and posted it on my Tiktok about my adventure . Grizzly77 on TikTok

Food wasn't fine dining but was very tasty at excellent prices. Good mix of local and international fare.

Restaurant/bar could stand with an investment in renovation/sprucing up a bit.
