My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room had all the amenities I needed, including air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and a flat-screen TV. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Check-in was smooth, and they provided excellent recommendations for local activities and restaurants.

I had a wonderful stay at De Rain Uganda Hostel! The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, and the location – close to the lake and surrounded by nature – made it the perfect place to relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make sure I felt at home. They helped me arrange local activities and transport, and gave great recommendations for places to visit nearby. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. I especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces – perfect for watching sunsets or enjoying a quiet morning coffee. The food was fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend De Rain Hostel to anyone looking for a calm, authentic, and affordable place to stay in Uganda. I hope to return one day! Very nice location on the lake, food was good, quiet at night, and rooms were comfortable with a Smart TV. All of the staff were helpful and nice. Hot shower was great too. Also anything we asked to be fixed was fixed immediately.

There were a few small things that I thought could be improved (like more towels and toilet paper) but I stayed here twice and the second time all of these improvements were made. I saw new towels, new trash and both in room and bathroom. My understanding is that it just reopened and the new owner is making improvements so I appreciate that.

This was my second stay at De Rain Eco Resort, and once again, it was truly exceptional and I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and professional. The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet—ideal for a relaxing stay. The staff were courteous and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcomed. I had the pleasure of enjoying both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and I must say—the food was absolutely incredible. The Indian dishes in particular were so flavorful and authentic, they were the kind of meals that make you want to cry from how good they are. The balance of spices, freshness, and attention to detail was simply remarkable. On top of that, the prices at the restaurant were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and service. De Rain Eco Resort continues to be a place I’ll happily return to. There was honestly nothing I didn’t like. This was one of those rare stays where everything just worked perfectly.

We stayed twice, 3 weeks apart, and each time did not disappoint. The food is top notch. Whether you want to enjoy a beautiful tilapia, Ugandan cuisine, western, or Indian, it's all delicious! The staff are attentive, and Mr. DeRain ensures you receive the best of care. The facility is right on the shores of Lake Victoria, and an evening meal looking over the water, watching the lighting flash in the distance was an unforgettable experience. It is also perfectly located for a quick hop to our from the airport. Out of the half-a-dozen stays I have had in Entebbe, this has by far been the best.

The rooms are cozy, well-designed, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The views of the ocean from almost every corner of the resort are breathtaking, and the tranquil atmosphere makes it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The resort's commitment to preserving nature is evident in every aspect. But what truly set my experience apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Gloria, the receptionist, deserves special mention for going above and beyond. From the moment I checked in, she made me feel like a VIP guest. She was warm, welcoming, and eager to ensure that I had the best possible stay. Gloria took the time to always checking in to make sure I was comfortable and happy with everything. Overall, De Rain Eco Beach Resort is a hidden gem, and the service is unparalleled. If you're looking for a peaceful and eco-conscious getaway with top-notch service, I highly recommend it. A charming and well-located hotel, perfect for a short stay on your travel route. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed at this hotel during the New Year period and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent, offering beautiful lake view that create a serene atmosphere. While there is a road nearby, it does not affect the experience — in fact, the proximity to the airport and city infrastructure makes it a convenient choice, especially if you're traveling by car. What truly sets this place apart is the owner’s personal involvement in the hotel's daily life. He goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable. The New Year celebration he organized was exceptional, as if he were hosting close friends rather than hotel guests. This level of care is reflected in every detail of the hotel. The bar and kitchen are great. And falling asleep to the sounds of nature around at night is simply magical.

Since the hotel is new, some staff members are still gaining experience, and at times, this is noticeable. However, their dedication and effort are evident, and I believe any minor gaps will be addressed with time. One thing to keep in mind is that hot water is supplied by boilers, so if used extensively, it may run out temporarily. Additionally, I don't recall seeing a swimming pool, but that might be intentional (or I just missed it), as this hotel offers a lake beach walk — though swimming didn’t seem to be an option at the time.

Beautiful setting, great location by the lake with very easy access to public transport to get to town, spacious and very private room, blockout curtains, great huge bed, good water pressure in the shower, nice outdoor sitting area with lake views, wonderful staff, delicious food.

We only had one bedside table and one chair in the room but, considering there was enough space, it would be more comfortable to have two of each as well as bedside lamps.

The host was excellent. Communication is great and they met all my requests very well. The host is willing to go above and beyond the expected to ensure you have a great stay. Keep it up

Breakfast should always include juice and fruits. Don't assume everyone prefers omelets, waiters can ask what customer prefers in the morning. Besides hotel staff should inform customers of the activities scheduled. We missed the live band because no one informed us about it.
