We enjoyed one evening and we were very excited as we read about it in a historical fiction novel that mentioned it as one of the oldest vineyards in Sicily. The grounds were beautiful, and we went for a lovely walk and then enjoyed the refreshing and well-maintained swimming pool. Our intent was to just relax, enjoy the winery and eat all day! The food was delicious. We did the "chefs" menu with paired wines. The resort itself was so memorable, the chapel, the dining rooms, the unique suites... just loved it.

Since we were traveling with two college grads, one night was plenty as this was the most expensive of all the places we stayed, but worth it. We stay at many wineries and typically get a tour and wine tasting with explanation. They did not offer either (may have been short staffed) so it was all self-guided since the sommelier did not discuss the wines. The wines were amazing, and we did purchase some to take with us on our travels.

The winery is stunning. Picture postcard perfect, and an excellent place to stay ( with a car) to explore the surrounding areas of Castlebuono and Cefalù. The swimming pool area which overlooks the vines & olive groves in the valley is serene and breathtaking and the perfect place to sip a glass of wine or enjoy a limoncello spritz. The decor of the resort has retained a gorgeous stylish Italian feel to its monasterial heritage .. and rooms are well appointed with all the little niceties that you would expect at a resort. The food is next level. The breakfast is served on the terrace and has delicious offerings every morning with freshly made coffee to order by the attentive staff. Dinner in summer is in the internal courtyard which is gorgeous and the food was heavenly using local produce with outstanding service from the friendly staff. And of course the wine amazing! The staff at reception are happy to help with any of your needs. It was the an incredible stay and look forward to returning

The winery is located in a very peaceful and scenic area about a 15 - 20 minute drive outside of Castelbuono. The road is very windy to get there ( as is the whole area), so do be aware! The pool is a good size and there's plenty of loungers and chairs to relax and enjoy the lovely views.The breakfast was very good with a good choice and attentive staff. We ate in the restaurant once and enjoyed our meal and wine there too. We explored the various villages/towns in the beautiful surrounding Madonie mountains and ate there so we could sample as much of the food the area had to offer.

The 3km private road leading to the winery is in pretty poor condition, so be careful driving up to the property, particularly in the dark! The decor is very 1980s so is rather dated, however, it is comfortable and cosy.

This place is like a dream and feels like a private secluded resort. The abbey is originally from 1100, expanded over the years, and now beautifully restored. The views are amazing, as well as the food and the wine, which is all from their own vineyard. Super friendly staff that you get to know quickly. I’ve seen some reviews about bad access road, but there are two access roads. The road coming in from Cefalù direction is not bad at all. Only some drainage channels you need to slow down for. And it’s through their own vineyards and olive groves, so super pretty. The access road coming in from Castelbuono is much worse though. If coming from there, I’d recommend continuing on the SS286 a bit and taking the other road.

Our only slight negative feedback is that the bed was a bit harder than we normally prefer.

The Relais was quiet and peaceful with great views and a terrific pool, all of which we liked a lot. The room (A3) was fine, but not very spacious, the promised garden 'view' was not really a view, just a dark hedge blocking any view, and we found both the bed and pillows rather hard and did not sleep very well for our week. There were just 4 hangers provided for a week's clothes for 2 but more were supplied on request. Additional surface/s in the bathroom for toiletries etc. would have been helpful. The place was a little difficult to navigate for one of us who is partially disabled, but not yet a wheelchair user, as there are many uneven surfaces posing trip hazards and quite a few steps to get round the site, apart from a rather steep ramp for those in chairs. The staff were charming, quick, efficient and most professional. Breakfast on one terrace and genuinely delicious dinners outside on fine nights under twinkly lights in the courtyard were a delight. Our only real disappointment, apart from the firmness of the bed/pillows and absence of any view from our room, was the distance required to get to anywhere else! We had a Fiat 500X rental car which would not fit through the narrow streets of much of Castelbouro or Sant'Abrogio and other places we tried to visit, and a warning about this would have been helpful. We should particularly like to thank the night manager who carried our cold supper to our room when we arrived very late on 1st July after a long delayed flight, and the breakfast staff who kindly squeezed me fresh orange juice every morning, which was delightful!

Please see above - I don't want to fill a paragraph with dislikes, as the overall experience was fine and despite cloud for the first two days we had 4 days of glorious sunshine and relaxation which was just what we both needed. It's a usual complaint when staying abroad that there were virtually no English TV channels, which was trying as we had an Election on at the time and had to follow it on iPads, etc. The TV itself was problematic and took help to get operational.

The restaurant is superb - the five course Easter Sunday lunch was one of the best meals we have ever had in Italy - no wonder the restaurant was packed. Really friendly staff. Beautiful location high up in the hills - when the pool is open it would be a lovely spot. Buildings tastefully converted from a monastery - the remaining chapel is worth a visit.

Big bathroom but really small shower in one corner. No kettle in room although one provided on request.

Our proposed stay dropped out at short notice, and this was a 'in the right place, at the right price' choice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, the Relais Abbazia Santa Anastasia has a lovely pousada feel to it with its ancient buildings and chapel. The restaurant was excellent and we had two delicious evening meals there = other restaurants learn, you dont need massives of choice, just a good selection of well considered diushes to select from. We were unable to visit the winery but the waiters helped make up for that in thier recommendations with the meals.

A very beautiful and secluded location of the hotel, charming historic style, very clean, with an excellent breakfast and dinner in the restaurant.

Poor soundproofing – every noise from the neighboring room could be heard. While the historic style is lovely, the furniture, sofas in the lobby, and poolside furnishings are quite worn out and no longer comfortable. Too few staff.

The property is amazing! The drive up is scenic with lots of twisting & winding, so plan to eat at the restaurant on the property. There really is nothing close by anyway. The food was very good but, maybe a little on the high end for where. The wine was good too. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was a typical continental set up. We were able to eat outside by a small fountain. Our room was beautifully appointed, clean and comfy. Lots of short flights of steps with lots of landings to rest if needed.

They held a wedding while we were there. It was set up before we left to go sightseeing in Agrigento and over by the time we got back in the late afternoon. The small staff, responsible for set up, serving and then tearing down the wedding, were thoroughly exhausted when it came time for lunch & dinner service and it showed. Maybe just a bit too much to have a booked resort full of guests who pay for meals at the property restaurant and for the facilities and have to share that with hosting a wedding at a venue not set up to do both at the same time.

Beautiful location up in the mountains! Very romantic setting. If you need to rest and disconnect, this is the place to be. The staff is great and courteous. The breakfast was great and the restaurant in the evenings has great food and wine but if you’re staying more than 2-3 nights, you run out of choices.

The rooms would need a little update in decor, way too much furniture and a little dark. The AC worked fine but our rooms were very damp so we asked if we could turn on the heating to dry out the dampness and we were told there was no heating. The wifi is not dependable at all, on and off continuously.
