The owner was lovely, gave us lots of local recommendations and was all round attentive, helped us book a taxi to the bus station The accommodation itself was clean, modern, and came with useful amenities such as toothbrushes and toothpaste We really liked the location and the fact that it’s not directly in the centre, it was peaceful and nice to be out of the hustle and bustle. We rented a motorbike for 300baht a day from Vawa Guesthouse and travelled around, was really easy to get to Erawan National Park on the motorbike. Don’t hesitate to stop for food in the unassuming places in the local villages along the way - they’re really good! Side note: Try and attend the Saturday walking market if you’re here over a weekend! We also loved the Khao Soi at Kin Khao Lam Restaurant and the beef brisket noodles at สุดใจเนื้อตุ๋นหมูตุ๋น. Recommend getting a Grab car from the bus station

We had some ants which is usually normal for a hot country but the kitchen disinfectant did a good job at getting rid of them :D

Our compact cottage had rudimentary kitchen facilities. We were able to eat in air conditioned comfort after ordering food from a non-air conditioned restaurant, and able to reheat the leftovers the next night. The king sized bed was comfortable and we really enjoyed having Netflix available. The property is a bit outside of town which is good and bad. On balance, we liked the quiet atmosphere and since we had a rental car, were able to drive into Kanchanaburi. It was closer to Erewan Falls Park which is a lovely area. The host kindly moved my laundry (which was spread over outdoor furniture) to a laundry rack.

In mid-February, Kanchanaburi (like much of Thailand I understand) was very smoky. Poor air quality.

Wow. Vawa Guesthouse has become one of my favorite places in Thailand. They did an amazing job of ensuring guests could have a relaxing time. The room is tidy, modern, and beautifully decorated, the AC and Wi-Fi work perfectly, the bed is big and comfortable, the bathroom has all the amenities you need (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothbrush, toothpaste... and more), and the whole atmosphere of the site is peaceful, especially thanks to all the trees and the chirping of the birds.

If you don’t have your own transportation, it’s a little hard to get to. You can catch a GrabBike to the place from the train station, however, so getting there isn’t really an issue.

Fabulously well-equipped, free-standing spacious room. You could live here comfortably for weeks. Also beautifully decorated, calm and peaceful. A really lovely place, well positioned for Kanchanaburi city, Muaeng Sing and Hellfire Pass.

The only things that bothered us were the lack of insect screen on the bathroom window (so mozzies got in) , and a very large gap under the main door (we've seen snakes gain entry that way) . We attributed both of these to the building being brand new, and suspect they've already been fixed.

A little way out of town but easy to access via GRAB taxi in ten mins for 100B/150B. Lovely private bungalow next to host's home. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Little kitchette and provided water bottles. Verandah for sitting outside. Breakfast not available when we stayed but easy to get provisions in town before heading out to the accommodation. Host arranged a taxi tour to Erawan Falls for us with a friend, which were beautiful and a refreshing place to swim.

A little way out of town. Good to enjoy all the sight seeing in town before heading out, though eady to pop back in for supper restaurants.

We all enjoyed our stay at Vawa Guesthouse! It’s located in a lush and quiet neighbourhood. Although we didn’t have our own vehicle, there was a café with a delivery service, and Pat’s husband kindly drove us to the city centre. We also managed to catch a bus near the accommodation to Erawan Waterfall, which was an added bonus. The owner, Pat, and her family are so lovely and attentive. I would highly recommend Vawa Guesthouse if you are visiting Kanchanaburi!

Our stay was amazing. The room was super clean and bigger than expected… with amazing sunset views!! My partner and I had an amazing 2 nights here and the lovely owner was nothing but helpful and lovely to chat with! She even gave us a lift to the bus station so we could get to Erawan waterfalls. Highly recommend!

Only downside is it’s out of town however they have bikes (pedal and motorbikes) for use/rent if available! So we had no issues

Beautiful cabins, both outside and inside. Fresh, new and gorgeously decorated, nice furniture, good smartTV and even a kitchen where you can cook. Quiet area, end of the street. Fantastic value for money, this might be the highest standard I’ve come across except for maybe some 5-star hotels that cost 5-10 times this.

It’s hard to write any negatives considering how much I like this place. But for a westerner, the bed is quite hard.
