We have stayed at Dheva Mantra Resort several times and always enjoy its beautiful location, Thai colonial charm, natural surroundings, and the welcoming staff. This is our favorite property in Kanchanaburi City, and we look forward to visiting again. On this visit, the front desk and breakfast staff were especially helpful to us, even though a large, aggressive tour group made things difficult for regular guests like us.

We didn’t realize we had booked Dheva Mantra Resort during a long Thai holiday weekend, which turned out to be an issue for us. Usually, we get a high-floor room with a river view, but this time we were assigned a ground floor room with almost no view. To make matters worse, a large tour group from two buses dominated the breakfast area—taking up all the tables and rushing around, which made the experience quite chaotic and unpleasant until they finally left.

It is a very beautiful resort which is little away from the main street but we wanted it. We got upgraded to a suite as the hotel was fully booked. Although the staff provided extra bed at extra charge for our son even without confirming with us, I had only enquired about extra bed so we were kind of forced to take it. We would have anyways taken it but I didn't like they telling us that the bed is already set in room and if we want it for 1 night or 2 nights at additional charge. But this is a minor point, after staying in multiple hotels in Thailand, I have realised many of them push for extra bed. This didn't impact our overall experience which was fabulous. The room was very spacious overlooking river and beautiful greenery all around it. Two spacious balcony giving nice view. Bathroom was very spacious including a bath tub and had all amenities you would expect from such a hotel. The beds are nice, overall interior is quite beautiful. Expect rooster alarm in the morning being close to nature and also expect some buggs and flies but nothing concerning. Swimming Pool is huge and water is warm. They also have rescued rabbits, our son enjoyed feeding them. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice, few vegetarian options too. Breakfast has very limited options for vegetarians. The staff speaks limited English but tries their best to address your concerns and guide you. We loved our stay.

The wooden floor in the room is little slippery. Some vegetarian option in breakfast buffet would be nice if guests are requesting for it.

The property is beautiful. Colonial style, takes you back in time. Right next to the river. The staff were very helpful. You will need a vehicle as there is nothing nearby. The room mini bar was complimnetary, with soft drinks and juices which were replenished everyday. The breafast buffet was good, however on our last day we were told that due to low occupancy the buffet was not there, and we could order from a menu, which was OK. The pool is great. Very calm and quiet place.

There is little to complain, but the toilet wasnt working well, despite repteated requests, they could not fix it well. The other gripe was that there were no dental kits or some other amenities one usually expects of this level of hotels. OTherwise it was great

The hotel and the grounds are very impressive with colonial type rooms with generous room sizes. The grounds are spacious and amazing views on the riverbank

The property is run by a agency as we found out, which has resulted in the limited number of staff working flat out to deal with such a huge hotel complex! The restaurants are mostly closed with limited opening hours and breakfast busy with little choice.

This is a large a hotel - resort on the banks of Kawai. At the back of the hotel you can see Kwai snaking through the property. It has a lovely restaurant that you can have a dinner at, the food is excellent almost perfect. The rooms are very good in size as it was large with a balcony looking into the garden and the pool. The breakfast is also lovely, the hotel decor is old Singapore very elegant as the breakfast room is elegant with great food. We arranged for our own taxi to take us to the daytrip - River Kwai railroad and museum, you must see Hellfire Pass, its a must. You dont need to ride the train, its a tourist trap, it get full quickly. So just walk on the train tracks, take your pictures which is the real thing then take the car to Hellfire Pass before 4pm as they close early. Its an Australian, New Zeland, Indian, British Memorial for all the people who died WWII building the railway. I am so glad our Aussie friend told us about it, we would've been sad to miss it, you get self guided tour of the pass that was built by the prisoners of war and the museum in the site is a must. If you give yourself a full day for this, its good. Skip the waterfall, as its a waste. Next day on the way back you can see the Floating Market on the way back to BK, that's what did. We didn't ride the boat, another tourist trap you get blocked by 100s of boats in different directions with black fumes. The pool is lovely and the property is really nice to walk in the back.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, for the first night we had to drive into the city 15 minutes away to find food as we didnt want to do fine dinning since we were so tired from our long driving journey from Bangkok, its outside of the city - depends how you look at it. It takes 2.5 hours from BK and the traffic was horrible.

I recently stayed at Dheva hotel and had a fantastic experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with big, cozy beds. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the delicious food selection at breakfast - there were so many tasty options to choose from. The hotel also had beautiful grounds, adding to the overall ambiance. Additionally, the location was great, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds, and convenient location.

I didn't like being charged extra to use the facilities at the hotel 😕

Beautiful colonial style property in great location by the river. Nice big rooms with proper balconies. Floating restaurant on the river very elegant, great Thai food and decently priced.

Nothing major. The a/c unit struggled to bring down the temperature of the room (but room was big…). The breakfast selection was ok but nothing special.

Very nice, colonial style resort just outside Kanchanaburi. Spacious rooms, great pool, excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Setting by the river is very nice and peaceful.

The hotel is located outside Kanchanaburi, which means you need to organise transfers every time you want to go somewhere.

Room is huge and cooling, good art design, bathroom was clean. They send breakfast to our room for first 2 days and was super convenient. The last day we dine at the restaurant, was great so that we can enjoy a different environment. Relax environment which is good for vacation. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was great as well. Staff are super nice and friendly.

On the first night, the water on bath tub was “black”, we let water run for a while and still not great. On the next day, we left the bath tub with dirty water and “somehow” it was fix when we return. That was great since our girl like to play around the tub on her vacation. Water on swimming pool was not clean, will be nice if they are well maintained.

Beautiful nature. Room size is good, very comfortable. It is a place for relaxation.

There are too many flies at the breakfast room. The hotel needs to do something about it. Flies were on bakery, not hygineic at all. The floor mat in the room is nice but it is an hazard as the mat is very slippery on the wood floor. I suggest the hotel add in a anti-slip/skid material underneath the mat.
