Astarte Hotel gives you the best value for your money. The owners and the stuff are ultra-friendly and helpfull. They will offer you a plenty of turkish tea and coffee :) The breakfast is excellent and plentyfull. The rooms are very "climatic". You will sleap in an old, traditional house changed into hotel. It looks really cool! (Although my room was one of the cheapest, it had a large bathroom.) The location of the hotel is excellent. You could go on foot to the Balikligol, museums and restaurants (nearby you have a restaurant with cold beer!). Ask about hiring the driver - he can take you for a good price (60 dollars) to the Gobekli Tepe-Karahan Tepe-Harran or the Halfeti at the Euphrates river. I'd spent only 4 nights at Astarte and now I think that my stay should have been longer. :)

The building is 500 hundred years old . You are staying in a piece of history . Do not expect all mod cons and standard type rooms . The house is built around a central court yard . The windows over look this , all are extremely different and window sizes also differ . The house was built to withstand the heat and protect those living there . You could not ask for more delightful staff , who go way beyond to make your stay unforgettable . Hear , personally we ate the finest breakfast we have ever eaten in our lives each morning . The Anatolian breakfast was a gastronomic delight . The location in the old part of the city is also excellent . Easily accessible by car and you can walk and visit all the sights and museums . This is an extraordinary and wonderful place that we look forward to returning to.

The location of this hotel is perfect for those wishing to visit the Balikligol area as it is situated in the old town maybe 150 meters from the Balikligol area. The hotel itself is a renovated old (I think) Armenian house with an inner courtyard where you have your breakfast (a generous one at that). I got one of the larger rooms with the jacuzzi in it, which was great to relax in after a long day sight-seeing.

They are still working to complete a large kitchen and restaurant on the first floor above the entrance area. I think this will be great as guests will be able to have their lunch and dinner at the hotel. We went out for dinner at night and there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

Magical. How often does one get to stay in a 500 year old Turkish Castle? The Host and Hostess where gracious and kind in the best of ancient hospitality. The staff were friendly and very attentive to every need(Cay, tea, is there before you know even know that that is exactly what you need). Breakfast was and outrageously beautiful and large spread of Turkish delights. Hotel Astarte was close to many main attractions, while sheltering the guest from being in touristy area. It is located in a real neighborhood, yet only a couple of blocks from Prophet Abraham's Pond, the Grand Bazaar and lovely parks. A little longer walk to reach Mosaic and Archeological museums, Sanluifra Castle and caves. Absolutely one of finest hotel experiences.

Cell service in 500 year old castle maybe reaches 3g? Wifi is available and works well.

There isn't anything to dislike about this superb hotel sighted perfectly in the old city of Urfa. The owners and their team make you feel so welcome and are delighted to help you with recommendations for food , culture, and anything else you want. We will definitely be back. They were also very accommodating by keeping a parking space in front of the hotel too, which takes a lot of stress out of any trip. Big thanks for everything.

What a lovely stay we had ! Attention to the guest is 10/10, super friendly staff (we asked for a room changed since our room has the bathroom “upstairs” in the room though, and my mother couldn’t go up and down the stairs at night to go to the toilette so they were SUPER comprehensive and changed us quickly to another lovely room), they are also willing to help with any request (we had a tour organised by Arzu with Memeht that was 70€ to go to Gobekli Tepe and Harran), took the whole day and the car was in good condition). The whole stay was 10/10, would 100% recommend it. The hotel is close to the main tourist attraction such as the mosque, park and bazaar, 15min from the museums. Special mention to the incredible breakfast. Thank you! Ps: if you dont speak turkish which was our case make sure you have internet (there is WiFi at the hotel) and use google translate which they are used to use with tourist.

The rooms were spotless, and the staff were incredibly kind. The hotel is right in the old city center, very close to the bazaar, and has a fantastic location. The breakfast was also amazing everything was incredibly delicious. Thanks to the hospitality of the owner, Ms. Arzu, her husband, and the staff, we truly felt at home. A very lovely family-driven hotel with the kindest staff that will help you with every problem or need you might have and they are always open for a chat. Nice clean facilities in beautiful old historical buildings, delicious and filling breakfast, and a good central location near the centre to e.g. Balıklıgöl and other tourist spots - as well as good parking conditions just outside the hotel, in case you travel by car. Thank you for a lovely stay! I will definitely come back if I find myself back in that region again. :)

Wow, what a great place this is. Staff is so friendly, breakfast superb, and there is a lovely courtyard where you can enjoy the sun and the many birds. We had a typical stone house family room. Location is conveniently close to all the main venues as well.

The toilet leaked a bit, and there’s no ventilation in the bathroom but that was absolutely no issue for us.

The management and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room amenities - hot water, air conditioning and lighting (especially bedside lights) were excellent. The breakfast was superb. And the location is great, being close to the museums, market and the spectacular fish pond and surrounding mosques.

My room was very small (as they often are in these repurposed family mansions). It would definitely be too small for a couple with their luggage.
