Just about everything is perfect, great value for the money, and very close to the train station. The staff were very polite and accommodating. Even though there were not a lot of options, the free breakfast was nice.

Extremely close to the train tracks, and trains, even though not that frequent, run until around 23h, which is not good for trying to sleep. I brought earplugs with me so did not have that much trouble with that but there are also earplugs available in the free amenities section in the hotel lobby.

There are no bells and whistles here but it’s a perfectly good basic hotel for a night or two in Tanabe. Room was spacious for Japanese standards with a chair and a stool for the desk so both of us could sit together. The breakfast has limited variety but good quality and is tasty. Breakfast doesn’t start until 6:30 so if you’re catching the first bus (6:16) for Kumano Kodo there’s no point getting the breakfast option.

Nothing not to like here however, as it’s right on the train line, train noise may annoy some people — we had a room on the other side of the hotel and weren’t disturbed at all.

Convenient business hotel for a one night stop. I was doing the Kumano Kodo the next day, so I only stayed for one night before the hike. They have a microwave and vending machines, that come in handy. The breakfast was simple, but good. It is about a 10-minute walk from Kii Tanabe Station.

The location, at night, can be somewhat dark (but you are in Japan, so there is really no danger). Also, you are next to the train tracks, the room is pretty much sound proof but you can listen some of the noise from the train.

We we allocated the new wing which opened 10 days before our stay, so everything was spanking clean and new. It also had thoughtful features like usb charging at table, next to bedside. Breakfast was also decent with fair share of protein such as eggs and milk as well as yummy breads & pastry. Each guest is allowed to take 1 onigiri.

It wasn't as close to train station as I thought. Wish room can be a tad bigger with more hangers and a proper hanging area

Great stay in a new apartment. The support via email to get access to the room was clean and efficient. Super beda with comfy airconditioning and shower. There is a large supermarket two blocks away where you can get everything. Around the corner is a small Familiy Market for the simple things and the coffee in the morning. Public transport is around the corner. Overall an excellent stay for two people as we were.

This apartment is advertised as for 4 persons. That’s really not easy. Yes, you can sleep with 4 persons but maximum for 1 night. The rest of the apartment is not fit for long stay with 4. The kitchen facilities are at a minimum. There is a fridge and a microwave so you can keep your groceries cool and heat them up. But cooking is not possible. Overall it’s more a room with a small kitchen.

Hotel is nice and new with spotless rooms. Short walk from Kii Tanabe train station. Staff allowed us to leave luggage with them for several days while we completed the Kumano Kodo hike.

Given the location is next to the train line, it was a little noisy at times. Breakfast was disappointing - we were told last admittance was 8:45am and arrived at the dining room at 8:30am to find hardly any food left. Staff need to make it clearer to guests that it's a case of first in best dress when it comes to breakfast.

This hotel is in new condition, is spotlessly clean, and the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. The full-bedroom was small, the queen room larger, but both were very comfortable. Breakfast was good but quite limited and one morning they ran out of much of the food by 8:15. Location is great, a 5 minute walk to the station and close to good restaurants and Izekayas (small restaurants with beer and sake). Shingu restaurant a 10 minute walk away was excellent and inexpensive.

I like the feeling of the new hotel. Room is comfortable. Able to sleep well in spite of proximity to train trackline. The staff were also friendly & helpful in places to eat for dinner. I enjoyed the morning buffet breakfast with a good spread of food. Restaurant staff were cheerful.

That I couldn't find the hotel location on Google Map. We had to key in the Tanabe Tourist Information Centre in Google Map then read the Japanese words of Hotel Kii Tanabe to find our way there.

Very conveniently located for guests who are either exploring the region by car (large carpark) or using public transportation (Kii-Tanabe train/bus station is only a 10min walking distance). Clean and close to brand new. Breakfast is surprisingly good.

Hotel is right next to the train track so rooms facing the track may experience occasional noise. Earplugs will be useful. It can be tricky to locate the hotel while on the go since Google Maps has its name in Japanese. Best to do homework ahead and mark the location on your maps.

I like to thank the front desk for informing us about our "lost and found" items to be collected from the neighbourhood police station). Overall happy with the stay in this neat, clean and convenient hotel in Tanabe.
