The pension is located near the bus station so also convenient to restaurants and cafes. The room was quite large and included a kitchen, bathtub, bathroom and living room/bedroom. There was a problem with the plumbing in the room I booked, so they graciously offered me a significant upgrade to a much better room for the same price.

There were a couple of flying bugs in the room but not a problem. I needed two fo the floor cushions before I felt comfortable on the floor futon.

Great location in a side quiet street, with a short walking distance from Shirahama beach and next to Ginza with all the restaurants. Attentive and friendly staff, beautiful design, spacious clean and comfortable traditional Japanese room. I’d love to stay longer. Great base for beach holidays.

More bathrooms would be great as you have to book a time slot even for a shower and cannot use it when you need it.

The design is super cool and the whole place is cozy and friendly. It’s easy to make friends with your neighbors, but also it is possible to find some quietness.

The price is convenient for Shirahama, but it could be cheaper since it’s a minshuku and it doesn’t offer any meal.

I really felt at home here! Yes, there are minimal amenities, but it has a really cozy feeling to it. My room was quite spacious and very affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager recommended the best onsen to me, and knew which hot springs were tattoo friendly. He spoke English very well. It is a great location too, only a few minutes walk to the beach, and very close to the convenience store. I'm really happy I stayed here :)

Very friendly service. Everything clean. Great location; not far from the beach, restaurants and the bus station. The room was very cozy. I would definitely recommend it.

The biggest drawback was the noise: the walls and ceilings were thin, so I could hear everything my neighbours said; that didn't make sleeping any easier. Plus, I wasn't used to sleeping on a futon yet...

The staff were super nice and the facilities were very neat and clean. Also they had a super powerful AC unit which made going into the room very comfortable.

The place is very tastefully decorated and within walking distance to the beach and restaurant area. They have free bicycle rental and luggage storage.

Talking and noises are echoed through the floors and walls so hopefully your neighbors are not loud or busy.

The staff was super nice and recommended us places to visit in the area. The hostel had a great location, near the beach and a lot of restaurants around. Over all comfortable vibe, even though the place is not in top condition, it was an enjoyable stay.

The windows are wind proof and therefore we got a stiff nack at night... moreover the air was really dry (we stayed there in winter) so we couldn't turn on the AC to keep the room warm at night...
