First of all, you can't beat the location of this hotel. It is just a stone throw from the famous Shirarahama Beach. The view from the beachside rooms is like from a travel magazine. The facilities are amazing and generous, from the onsen to the karaoke room. Oh the space-theme massage chairs are brilliant! What I would like to focus is food. For dinner, I hope it to be a proper kaiseki course but we got an all-you-can-eat buffet. Still, the food was awesome and the dish that stole the show is ramen! Their desserts are refreshing with delectable sizes. What I impressed more is the breakfast. The wakayama special rice bowl topped with salmon, small fish, and grated yam is simple and delicious. A bowl of ume infused soba is shining through as well. This is the hotel that I would like to come back to enjoy everything again!

Lovely and clean Japanese style room. Not the biggest room we have stayed in ryokans so far for the price it commands, but shirahama generally seems more expensive. Always love an in-room open air bath. Water was prepped prior to check-in so you can just dip right in. There was a good variety at breakfast with both Japanese and western options. Location is right by the beach with the local bus stop right outside.

It’s a really small thing but the hot spring bath’s temperature has to be manually adjusted by yourself; otherwise it’ll be scalding hot. Would be perfect if the water temperature could be pre-adjusted to cooler levels so guests don’t have to wait too long for the water to cool to use the bath in the morning.

Although the hotel is a bit far from Shirahama Station, you can easily get on bus to the hotel, and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. The staff are very helpful all the time, at check-in, shuttle bus reservation, find my lost belt, ... ... The rest area is big, and offers free coffee and tea. The room is spacious with beach view, the morning view is fabulous.

From bus stop to hotel, you need to carry your luggages up a slope, which is inconvenient to both elderly people and those with accessibility problem.

The staff - super helpful staff. We asked where we could buy some fireworks and they offered us a bucket and lighter to use. My husband left his wedding band in the hotel and they managed to find it after searching for two days. We are getting it back via a courier service the hotel arranged for us. The room - we had a private onsen in our room and the view of the beach was amazing at sunset. The only thing I would suggest is the water should be kept running in the tub so it doesn’t cool down when the guest want to jump in. Location - a few steps away from the beach. Breakfast - nice buffet with big spread.

The room was small even for four people, even though it was supposed to be for five. With four futons, you couldn't walk around the room. In my opinion, the room was for two people. And the room had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. You couldn't even turn around in it, and it's supposed to be for five people. Otherwise, it was fine.

Conveniently located next to a bus stop (Hashiriyu) and across the street from Shirahama Beach. The room was very spacious and the view was amazing. The futons were comfortable (you can get extra padding from the closet). The onsen was fabulous and open until midnight. I went at 11:30pm and enjoyed it by myself. Breakfast buffet had an extensive variety of items so you can surely find something you like. The 2nd floor has an amazing area for kids as well as a full "beverage station" with hot/cold drinks and tables/chairs to relax in. Staff does not speak much English but they always greet you when you leave and return and will do their best to try and answer questions and held our luggage after checkout time. Housekeepers were quick and friendly.

The hotel is older so you can see that the rooms are a little worn. The room amenities could be more generous. The onsen is well stocked so the expectation is that you'd use the amenities there but if you don't go to the onsen - there isn't much in the room. We had a sliver of soap and shampoo/conditioner in a tiny packet. Hotel is perched on a hill so it's an uphill walk from the bus stop. Not a problem for us but someone with mobility issues may find that challenging. Wish they provided some area/attraction information/maps in English.

Onsen is a bit crowded. Need to walk down long flight of stairs from changing area to onsen so need to be careful as it can be slippery,

Amazing hotel, it is far exceeded my expectations! Quite large but clean room, private hot spring. Delicious Kaiseki food in the room, free iced coffee in 2nd floor! I will go to there and take more time to experience this hotel next time!

Nice view of white sand beach from my room. Both onsen were very relaxing. The water temperature was just right (for me)

Need more comfortable chairs or sofa in the room.

location is the best, just in front of the white sand beach. very nice view of sunset on balcony with private hot spring tub. Japanese style room is spacious with handy facilities. dinner on 5th floor in private room with windows also facing the sea. choice of yukata outfits. buffet breakfast is good.

will be better if room can be cleaned, ie. collecting used bottles and tea set when putting the beds.
