Wonderful staff , very courteous and helpful. There is ample parking space for bikers and the hotel is very modern with many amenities. It is definitely value for money. The hotel is very well located, walking distance to the central area. However, the approach road to the hotel is tricky so the hotel staff had to escort us from the main road to the hotel but it was easy after that.

Very warm welcome with a cup of Kawa and Arnab warning us on the physical effects of altitude, suggesting us many different ways to get used it! Beautiful Rai at the reception, very professional in accounting with always a nice smile. From the kitchen in the morning, eggs in different style, porridge, Indian breakfast, and other delicacies. A nice boy, always smiling, brings you the menu for the dinner and waits your decision trying to guide you through “no chilly and no spicy foods “ . Very nice team! Good balance of price and service

Our stay with Ms. Rai was nothing short of exceptional. It felt more like an authentic Airbnb experience than a standard hotel stay. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Rai took great care to ensure our comfort, starting with a detailed explanation about altitude sickness and essential precautions to prevent it. For anyone traveling to Leh from a lower altitude, these instructions are invaluable to make your stay as comfortable as possible. What truly set this experience apart was Ms. Rai’s ability to curate a personalized tour that perfectly matched our personality, interests, and preferences. She arranged for Mr. Stanzin to be our guide and driver, and we couldn't have asked for a better companion. He is sincere, dedicated, honest, and incredibly caring, with unparalleled expertise in driving on icy terrains—a true professional. Ms. Rai, along with her wonderful team, including Imtiyaz, Terry, and Gulzar, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and hassle-free. Their warmth, attentiveness, and hospitality made us feel completely at home. We received a traditional and warm welcome from the hostess Ms Anu and the staff along with a refreshing welcome drink. Check in was smooth. Anu was very kind, friendly and prepared us with a quick tutorial on coping with high altitude and suggested some authentic local enriching experiences. Room, bedding etc were very comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the Stok mountain range from our balcony. Location of the hotel is away from the hustle bustle of the main road. So it was calm, peaceful and there were spaces to stroll that made it great for our initial period of acclimatisation. Leh bazaar is a short walk and there are plenty of cafes and bake houses to explore armed with recommendations from Anu.  Staff was friendly and always around to help make our stay smoother. Breakfast included a good variety of delicious options every day.  Overall we had a great experience and would return on our next trip.

The only challenge to be aware of was the narrow lane it's located on. The staff is happy to help with luggage but it's a bit of a walk down a narrow path and our taxi sometimes struggled to find a spot to pick us up. The walk to the paid parking is slightly longer but a good option for pick up and drop.

Clean, accessible, affordable with good staff- Mr Arnab, Miss Steffi, Wanshang, Anuj & Bihaan were exceptionally gracious, pleasant & helpful. Breakfast spread and ala carte dinner was good.

Guests scolding the staff & being rude re: maintenance stuff. As it is, Leh does not have good Network Coverage, it is not nice to see guests venting their frustations on the gracious hotel staff. In a place like Leh, we cannot have exceptional expectations, especially with such a low hotel charge.

Access location to the Hotel not good, Breakfast had only 2 to 3 options daily for our 6night stay, House keeping needs a lot of Improvement as rooms are not cleaned daily. Room heater is chargable on daily basis Rs 350/day. Only 1 complementary water bottel for our 6 nights stay. Also they charge Rs 10 extra from Market price.

Absolutely the BEST hotel ever in Leh. We've been there 2 times and next time we will return to el Castello without a doubt. Anu the manager and the rest of the staff are just amazing, always ready to help and with a big smile. They helped us to reserve vehicles for all the group and gave us also very good recommendations about places to see and to eat. Rooms very big, clean and comfy. Just a 10!

The host and the entire place was awesome. The host was extremely helpful, humble, generous and courteous. The host was welcoming and guided us well which made our Ladakh trip the most memorable one and provided us a lot of comfort

Rooms are warm in winter, big and nicely decorated. The best price in Leh, prime location near the market. We returned and we would do it again when possible.
