The location is amazing: right on one of the canals, and from here you can start your tour around Giethoorn (either walking, biking or renting a boat). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Bearing in mind that this is a hostel: the room was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was ok. Our room was right in front of the private bathroom . Breakfast was good. We very much enjoyed the space and facilities in the garden (tables, hammocks, etc).

The place is generally quite ok, especially considering it is a hostel. The rooms and the toilets could have been cleaner (we found some hair here and there). I would have liked some more choices for the breakfast.

- Location: Very good location, right next to a boat rental shop (which is also a big restaurant/cafe). Easy to access the village. - Garden: The hostel is very well maintained, the area is clean and the garden is beautiful with many trees and flowers. The big garden can also used as playground, for grilling, chilling, etc,… - Shared area: the shared kitchen and bathrooms are well-equipped and spacious, clean. Breakfast is OK. - Room: clean, shared room so sometimes there will be noise from other guests. - Staffs: the staff is very friendly and helpful.

This property is amazing, it was far enough away to peaceful but close enough to have a great 20 min walk to the centre. The room was great. It is nice a peaceful, but there are lots of things to do. The bathroom facilities are easily accessible. And the common/kitchen area is very well done and inviting. AND I got breakfast included which was so nice!

The only thing I didn’t like was the shower head as the water wasn’t directed in one place.

Great hostel and location in the heart of Giethoorn. Free parking outside. Great big outdoor space in the garden with bbq. Breakfast was included which was nice in the morning! Staff very friendly and welcoming.

No air con so could get a little warm in peak summer months. As with all hostels you can come across some strange guests staying there and we certainly came across one!

Breakfast is provided(coffee, tea, cereal, toast, croissant, make your own eggs, etc). Staff is awesome. Got lactose free milk for my breakfast coffee. Very clean. Great outdoor chairs and garden to relax in. Giethoorn is beautiful. Lovely to walk around. Didn't have a bad meal anywhere. Hostel is also a good spot for families.

The shower for room 4 leaks into the hallway a bit. Also, the tiny wall that keeps shower from splashing on your towel, etc could be a bit bigger. Screens in the windows would be nice. Doors bang - a sound damper would be helpful. All minor stuff.

The hostel had absolutely everything I needed, with regular cleaning, always spotless, and located in a peaceful, picturesque spot with a beautiful garden right by the canal. The kitchen always had fresh coffee and tea available. The staff made a very positive impression, providing clear directions and all the necessary information. Highly recommended!

Great location, right at the beginning of the canals with picturesque houses. Living in an original, although modernized house. Large garden for sitting. Boat rental right next to the house.

It's a hostel so OK, but for example the toilets/showers are separate from the room. The room was really tiny for 4 people.

Really really lovely little hostel with beautiful garden and nice social (but gentle) vibe. I feel really well rested and uplifted after staying here.

The bathrooms were a little bit too public which made it tricky to time it right. You had to walk through the bathroom to get into 2 of the rooms.

Amazing place, the host was really excellent with the information and guidance with whatever information we required. The morning breakfast was really good. The host was well versed in various languages. Our stay was really amazing here. Thank you Blacksheep for the amazing stay.

Needed accommodation for one night somewhere in Holland. Searched for the cheapest and couldn't believe I found it in the famous Giethoorn. Did some sightseeing in the evening and it was breathtakingly beautiful! And the kitchen is big and homey and we even played some table games there with another roommate of mine. So basically, also made new friends :)

All the rooms except for the kitchen are on the small side but it wasn't a big problem and you have to remember it's all inside old buildings, so I guess it even adds to the charm.
