The value was quite high for expensive Aspen. Free parking or easy parking on a nearby street. While not in the thick of things, it was very close to everything. I had been worried about the lack of ac but we were fine with the fans -even though it was in the 80s during the day. The staff were very helpful with hike and food recommendations. There was a little kitchenette so we were able to save money y having in-room coffee and re-heating muffins from a local bakery for breakfast. They provided bars and trail mix to take on hikes.
No outdoor areas to lounge when trying to relax. Parking area often filled (but parked just a block away). No elevator.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, warm heating, quiet location, great shower and bathroom.
Always refreshing to turn up to a hotel to find it is owner operated. This was a great check in experience with someone who clearly loved his environment, was happy to talk about his town, and give the best traveller advice he could. The room was lovely and spacious, warm and welcoming with fluffy towels, comfy beds and a unique alpine ambiance. Very close to the downtown district, a lovely place in a great spot. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Aspen to stay here.

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was very clean and well-maintained, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help, giving great recommendations that made my trip even more enjoyable. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to get around and explore the area. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free stay.

The location was perfect for us. We used the bus to go to Maroon Bells, easily walked to restaurants, etc. Also, both staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. One helped us by looking up the directions through a nearby pass and printed a map for us and brought it to our room. The other talked us through the intricacies of transportation to Maroon Bells and even allowed us to leave our car on the property on checkout day while we went to Maroon Bells, which saved us a lot of money. Also, our room was huge, all the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and immaculate, and we loved the little kitchen (although we didn't use it).

This is the perfect location in Aspen and a spacious, clean room. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and trails. The room even had a little kitchen. Plenty of free parking spaces. I would stay here again.

Old style lodge. The history depicted in the photos and memorabilia on the walls was interesting. It's like a mini museum for Aspen history. The proprietor was extremely helpful and friendly. Snacks and round the clock coffee etc available free in the office.
Stay was too short.

The property is humble, simple, and dated, but the staff, location, charm, and (relative) value are exceptional. We were warmly and pleasantly greeted by Jim who efficiently checked us in, spent causal time getting to know us, and cheerfully pulled out a map and highlighted a number of sites and establishments in keeping with our purposes and preferences. The kindness and helpfulness of Jim (and all the staff) persisted to the very end of our stay.
The convenient location also exposes the property to road and construction noise. The available earplugs in the room might be helpful for those who wish to snooze a bit longer.

Very quirky, in the best sense of the word. Only family-owned motel in Aspen. We learned that the old Jerome hotel there had been rented out for three days by Toyota for FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS. meanwhile, all the service people who make the city run streamed out of the city at 5:00 because they obviously could not live there. What a disgrace.
Lovely quirky place. Wonderful....

I loved how quaint this place is. Good vintage art throughout, the beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean, coffee was fresh in the lobby. We have four teenagers and that extra bed was so nice to have for our situation. Kids had bikes for an afternoon to use for free with our stay and that was the cherry on the cake for them. They had so much fun.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a very large room on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable. There is parking just outside and it is walking distance to Aspen town center. Rates are far cheaper than most other accommodation in Aspen. If you want a clean, comfortable room for the night, I would definitely recommend Tyrolean Lodge.
