This is an extraordinary place to stay……it is a rambling old chateau in a delightful and quiet provincial town The owners are utterly charming and welcomed us into what is in fact their home The chateau with its ancient and eclectic decor is fascinating, rustic and very French If you like mini-bars and tech, then go elsewhere……or, step into the old world of slow-paced eccentric elegance and antiquity that is Chateau de la Grand Maison I can't wait to go back
nothing......it's perfect

The owner and her son are very friendly and helpful. We were greated with a pot of tea, and the continental breakfast was fresh and good, including fresh fruit. The chateau is old but well renovated. Do not judge this place based on the outside paint-work. The room and bed were comfortable and full ot character. Great Wifi, so having no TV is not a problem. Private, secluded parking felt very safe. Restaurant was closed due to holiday, so we cannot comment.
The entrance to the courtyard is difficult to find, and we went in twice before realising we were in the right place. We stayed only one night, so it was not a great issue that the room had no storage for clothes.

Beautifully furnished and decorated in a manner that worked well with the house. Secure car parking. Lovely breakfast room in what was originally the library. The position is excellent to walk up into the centre ville with some have good little restaurants
Obviously the house is getting to the stage where it needs a substantial reinvestment but it is still a lovely family house. The gardens are slightly overgrown and could be so exceptional. I should say that it is still very comfortable and presentable

Amazing old chateau that is so interesting to wonder around. Leo the owner is very welcoming and helpful. Our 9 yr old son would've stayed here for our whole holiday (we were passing through) and we hope we'll get the opportunity to stay again.
We actually didn't have anything to dislike. Some might wonder about evening meals, the chateau doesn't offer that but there are many restaurants in belleme town within walking distance. We had a top notch meal in town.

I loved the beautiful villa. It was like movie set, French, medieval in a lovely small town. Leo was a very attentive host with a nice breakfast each morning.
We arrived during a heat wave so it was hard to cool down the first night. That was no fault to the property as most places don’t have AC. By the last night it was comfortable…..

Amazing chateau, with a beautifully decorated interior, stuffed full of character and charm. We were warmly welcomed and the breakfast provided was nice. A lovely stay in an exceptional property.
We should have booked one of the local restaurants in Belleme, there aren't that many, and they were full. But we drove a short way to Mortagne-au-Perche and had a very nice meal there at La Brasserie.

Brilliant, this is a 'must stay' location. Terrific hotel, English owner. Does breakfast but not evening meal. They recommended local places to eat, all within walking distance. Interior decoration and rooms were lovely. Belleme is worth walking around, as it is a medieval town. Lots of boutiques for shopping.
What's not to like? Great stay all round.

The comfort and peace of the chateau was fantastic. Our room was large and cool and the bathroom large and the water hot! The inside of the house was beautifully decorated and the gardens comfortable to sit in with a glass of wine
Nothing!

Wonderful house of 400+ years, undergoing continuous restoration and refurbishment such to secure it for future generations. Hosts were very welcoming and happy to share their experiences of owning the Chateau.

Wonderful old building and we had a very spacious and comfortable room. Obvious signs of some repairs in need of doing but nothing that interfered with our stay. Leo our host was always available and very helpful. Great breakfast. Limited number of restaurants in Belleme, lots more nearby but involving a drive.
