We have been several times on our trip back to the uk .. it’s a beautiful property with a small pool to relax by in a large park .. a sauna is a great touch and an honesty bar too . At 7.30 complementary drinks are served on the terrace which gives you time to unwind and chat amongst other guests . We love staying here !

Maybe a choice of two things to eat would be nice at dinner as you sit down you are basically told what you’re getting though you can mention what you can’t eat before hand .the pool is a small and perfectly formed area but the quiet was disturbed by parents allowing their children to jump in over and over and shout out loudly . A sigh saying something like “ please respect the silence “ would be perfect !! There is after all a huge park for the children to run about in.

What a delightful, eclectic hotel. We loved our stay in the attic room. It was quirky but luxurious and comfortable with magnificent views across the garden. Dinner in the garden was delicious and the aperitif on the terrace a nice and unexpected touch. All the staff were charming. A perfect spot for a pit stop on route south.

The stairs up to the bathroom and low beam (dip of the head needed) to enter the loo may not be suitable for everyone - but was perfectly charming for us.

We loved how cozy the chateau was , excellent decor , the fact that there were pre dinner drinks with other guests and that the owner came to join us , also the 3 course dinner was fabulous , the chef also came and introduced himself which was a lovely touch . Breakfast was continental and also excellent , beautifully presented . I Wouid love to stay here again as we only had one night of stay longer . Highly recommend .

I loved the old world charm of this place, coloured by a friendly and helpful host and hostess with excellent food. The grounds are beautiful to walk around or just sit in and watch nature,

Whilst this is clearly an old building and that is part of its charm the floor tiles in the first floor corridor are in such a poor state of repair they are now presenting a tripping hazard and should be attended to in the near future,

Beautiful château with spectacular rooms and yet very dog friendly. Fabulous grounds. Very attentive host, delicious food. We did not get to enjoy all the amenities as we arrived late on our way to Spain and left early. I regret it.

A small dining table rather than a coffee table would have been a plus to eat our delicious room service dinner.

Exquisitely beautiful hotel and grounds. We were bowled over. Gorgeous pool area with honesty bar. Lovely grounds complete with happy goats. The staff are great. The food and wine are superb. Worth noting that there is no menu, so message ahead with dietary requirements. An unforgettable place.

That we only had one night.

Truly a French Chateau experience . It’s imposing and our room was palatial. The grounds are extensive and peaceful

We were disappointed that after our parties dining table collapsed mid dinner we didn’t receive any apology. This may have been a one off event but it did take the gloss off the experience

Wonderful ambiance, lovely hosts and staff and a stunning place to stay. This wasn't our first stay at Chateau St Paterne and we will definitely return. It is always completing charming and an utterly relaxing experience. Dinner was lovely in the beautiful dining room and a stroll round the grounds with pre dinner aperitifs on the terrace with the other guests a really lovely touch.

The location was lovely, the staff were lovely and the grounds were lovely too. The goats and chickens entertained us, and the accommodation was comfortable. A lovely change from chains and corporate hotels.

The only thing I don't like is dogs begging for food during meals. I would have preferred the dogs to be kept out of the very small breakfast room.
