We loved how cozy the chateau was , excellent decor , the fact that there were pre dinner drinks with other guests and that the owner came to join us , also the 3 course dinner was fabulous , the chef also came and introduced himself which was a lovely touch . Breakfast was continental and also excellent , beautifully presented . I Wouid love to stay here again as we only had one night of stay longer . Highly recommend .

I loved the old world charm of this place, coloured by a friendly and helpful host and hostess with excellent food. The grounds are beautiful to walk around or just sit in and watch nature,

Whilst this is clearly an old building and that is part of its charm the floor tiles in the first floor corridor are in such a poor state of repair they are now presenting a tripping hazard and should be attended to in the near future,

Beautiful château with spectacular rooms and yet very dog friendly. Fabulous grounds. Very attentive host, delicious food. We did not get to enjoy all the amenities as we arrived late on our way to Spain and left early. I regret it.

A small dining table rather than a coffee table would have been a plus to eat our delicious room service dinner.

Truly a French Chateau experience . It’s imposing and our room was palatial. The grounds are extensive and peaceful

We were disappointed that after our parties dining table collapsed mid dinner we didn’t receive any apology. This may have been a one off event but it did take the gloss off the experience

Wonderful ambiance, lovely hosts and staff and a stunning place to stay. This wasn't our first stay at Chateau St Paterne and we will definitely return. It is always completing charming and an utterly relaxing experience. Dinner was lovely in the beautiful dining room and a stroll round the grounds with pre dinner aperitifs on the terrace with the other guests a really lovely touch.

The location was lovely, the staff were lovely and the grounds were lovely too. The goats and chickens entertained us, and the accommodation was comfortable. A lovely change from chains and corporate hotels.

The only thing I don't like is dogs begging for food during meals. I would have preferred the dogs to be kept out of the very small breakfast room.

Absolutely fantastic location! The chateau is opulent and the grounds fairly large to walk around. We stayed in the dacha in the woods and it was wonderful, private and cozy. Breakfast was as expected for chambre d'hotes- a selection of cold meats, bread, cheese, coffees, teas and jams etc. Eating in dining room feeling a little like royalty due to the setting. The meal cooked in the evening was exceptional though! I don't believe its mentioned on booking.com, so I'll list the prices as I remember them at time of writing. For breakfast it was 17 euros per adult, and the dinner was 49 euros per adult. The staff were all very friendly and happy to accommodate us and our 1 year old son. The chateau is pet friendly (or at least dog friendly!) and we paid 15 euros for our dog to also stay. She was extremely happy to charge around the grounds. If you walk up away from the chateau on the grounds there are swings for children, a slide, a trampoline and area to play football or kick a ball around to play. Further up the grounds there is a small garden area where you can find an enclosure with some goats and chickens. (This is not a petting zoo, but I could see it being an attraction for children to see the animals) All in all I absolutely would recommend and want to return here again!

For me and my wife this wasn't an issue, but there are 2 little (friendly) white dogs who live in the chateau who will come into the dining room while you breakfast and wait for the chance of food. If you are allergic or not a fan of dogs I could see this being off-putting. (They are however quiet and friendly and pretty unobtrusive 😅) The massage offered needs to be booked in advance which was not mentioned on booking.com, my wife missed out, but the rest of the stay was fantastic so we weren't too disappointed!

Absolutely beautiful château in acres of its own grounds. Greeted very warmly and shown to our stunning room. Aperitifs at 7.30 giving us the opportunity to meet with the other guests. Followed by a delicious dinner in the sumptuous candle lit dinning room. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and superb. Breakfast the next morning was equally delicious. I cannot praise this Château enough, I would return in a heartbeat

The setting in the chateau and the format for the evening meal makes for a great evening. The proximity to the motorway and yet perfect peace and tranquility make it an excellent stop over location.

The chalet is great for young families. The children would love 5the adventure in the woods. Not so sure for us older folk!
