The house is stunning with beautiful gardens. The room is compact but had everything. No frills. The host is polite and efficient. The town is gorgeous with a lovely local restaurant that serves a 3 course menu as well as other cafe/bar/restaurant/takeaways. Get their early though! The breakfast was good with a big pot of freshly brewed coffee.

Great location, 5 to 10 minute walk to everywhere in the town. Bed was very comfortable. Very quiet place, so peaceful. The room was well heated, it was freezing outside but I was comfortable in the room with normal clothes. The owner Sandrine is very nice and helpful

The room size is good for 1 person, but for 2 it might be a bit small. If you'll spend all day outside and use the room only for sleeping, then 2 people will also be fine.

A grand house in a beautiful garden park set back from the main road into Illiers-Combray so very easy to find. (Note there are two front gates : the access communications are on the right Gate but the entry for the property is at the left Gate.) There are several guests rooms. I was the only guest at this early time in the season but I had an entire suite to myself: very spacious bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, and access to a comfortable salon which I didn't use. Host Sandrine was friendly and helpful but discreet. Breakfast was adequate with croissants, bread, jam fruit salad yogurt and beverages.

Great location for a stop over on the way to the coast. Breakfast was very nice. Staff also.

It wasn’t quite what we expected from the pics. If you are prepared for a bit of a surreal experience in a house that seems a tiny bit haunted and you relax into it, it was a great stay. Everything seems a bit abandoned and a tad older than in the pics.

Helpful host, nice breakfast, handy for the town. Lovely large garden area - if the weather is good! :-)

Felt the price was a little on the high side for the room I was in. Not a major issue, though!

Good location, off the street and just 2-3 minutes away from the motorway. Short walk into town. Friendly staff, great breakfast with an early start for travelers. Nice, spacious rooms.

Noisy guests in the hall can be heard in the rooms at night.

Comfortable bed and great breakfast. Owner very friendly and accommodating.

Room only had small velux window with no view and was very hot. Black mould in the shower.

I used it for a bicycle trip, the staff were all very friendly and let me store my bike in a safe place indoors.

Quite classy house with historic interior, friendly owners and staff. Bicycles can go into garage. Good French breakfast with croissants and baguette and sweet jams.

We were very well taken care of, very spacious and nice rooms, excellent bathroom with showers, and even a kitchenette.
