The building is full of character and history and very comfortably decorated and furnished. I love the themed rooms and the explanations of the history as part of WW2 surrender in the Netherlands. The food and drink were great quality and the staff friendly and professional.

Breakfast was a bit inconsistent in terms of food being consistently available and easy to find. For instance some days forks were not provided to use for cold meat and cheeses and fresh ginger for tea wasn’t always provided. The tea choice was poor, no black tea. No issue with coffee or overall food quality and variety. Wouldn’t stop me going back if I was in Wageningen again but a bit unexpected in view of the general excellence of the hotel.

This would be the best hotel in Wageningen. It's classy and old style. Bedroom was huge, each are decorated/dedicated to a famous person/style. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection and was good. There was no dedicated fridge in the room, but could be rolled in from the corridor if required. Well located on the town centre (shopping, bars, eating), and a short walk to the bus station for access around. Evening restaurant is very upmarket.

The hotel is located on the main street, so it is very convenient to go shopping and eating on the main street. The bus station is also only 200 meters away from the hotel, so it is very convenient to go to the campus and other cities. The room is large enough, the bed is very soft, and there is a desk for work. If you come to Wageningen for a visit or travel, staying in this hotel is a good choice.

There is a tightly closed door in the room which feels like it links the next room, which made me feel a little uncomfortable when I first entered. The lighting in the room was a bit dim at night and there was no main light for illumination.

Location Overall experience Staff have improved over my previous experiences in this hotel over the past 2 years. Both at Reception and at the bar. The bar staff exceeded expectations. Specially the Manageress! She is first class professional and friendly.

Pricey The restaurant struggles to be original and comes up short. But it probable reflects an overall condition in the Netherlands.

Love the quaintness and history and above all the incredible staff. It’s like coming home! I was there to take care of my daughter after a surgery. They brought me a delicious meal to the room so I wouldn’t have to leave her and complementary delicious wine… exactly what i needed after a long hospital day!

We had a verg comfortable room up in the attic with a delicious bed! But the dutch damp weather made tge room a bit musty, i would suggest airing more and or drying the room/bathroom more

The Hotel is perfectly located in the inner city of beautiful Wageningen. You can park right behind the Hotel. Everything is in walking distance. I personally woke up to sunshine, walked to the beach, on the way back forth watched the warmth and welcomeness of Wageningen unfold. The management even increased the water pressure of the showers since my last stay, which was my only hint of unsatisfaction. Wonderful! Always again!

Excellent location. Very nice breakfast room area, large, nicely decorated. Very large room (Gandhi room) well furnished. Comfortable large double bed. Good variety of food for breakfast and excellent service. Coffee machine and kettle in the room.

The bed cover too warm for the season. Just a couple of miserable hangers in the closet. No mini bar (no refrigerator).

I have been to this hotel before and it was a good experience. quite good. Breakfast great, restaurant tasty. Staff helpful, I even cancelled my bike reservation too late and they still refunded me for the day.

This time in the summer, they could use a fan or air conditioner.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel de Wereld. I was not aware that it had such an interesting history and I enjoyed the info displays that give you more info about the historic place that you are staying at. Each room has a different inspiring theme (eg. Gandhi, Vaclav Havel, Malala Yousafzai) which is a nice touch. The facilities were also excellent. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfy and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, I could not make use of the restaurant options as I was visiting for a conference but hope to do so in the future. The location is very convenient near shops, a gym and bus stops. It is just under 2km from most of the main university buildings, which is perfect when going to conferences. It is also close to some lovely nature areas (Arboretum Belmonte, Wagningse Berg, rivers, etc) that make for nice strolls or runs in the area.

Things got a bit noisy during the evening, but that is the combination of an old building and inconsiderate guests so not really anything that could be improved on by the hotel.
