There was a large garden you could use to relax in. The room was large and looked onto the garden. The bed was comfortable.

As a 60's child I found the non contact automatic sign in a little challenging. Then I locked myself out. The host was very helpful and spoke English. My next fault was taking the wrong key out with me which meant I couldn't get back into my room. The host came around and helped with the problem. He was very happy to help. Great host, but I was challenged by technology.

Secured bike storage and best bike pump I have ever used. Contactless check in was brilliant.

I lost my key card. Replacement process through contactless machine system is flawed. It asks for client number (which is printed on receipt at your arrival.....and left in my room). Bookings.com reservation number and pin are not acknowledged by machine once you check in. Replacement card requires your CLIENT number only. Resolved with help from German speaking guest using their phone. Very fortunate they arrived after half hour unsuccessfully trying to use machine phone text etc A notice in room not to forget your key card should be expanded to note/carry receipt containing client number with you. The local phone contact number was uncontactable on my phone. Otherwise system is brilliant. You just need to have your client number (your receipt) with you rather than in your room.

The location wasserfest for me because it was the closest available hotel near the Bislicher Insel. That‘s what I came to see. Since breakfast was not included in the stay it was important for me to find a supermarket (opening hours 7am - 10pm, which was perfect for my needs) within 2 minutes walking distance away from Xotel.

We loved staying here. While the rooms weren't large they had all the amenities. There is a large yard in back with tables and sunshades. A Penny's grocery store is a block down the street. There is secure bicycle storage and a refrigerator stocked with beverages that you can purchase on the honor system.

Very good location in a lovely town. Everything you need in a basic accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Excellent hair dryer (I have been struggling to dry my hair at other places). Good bike storage facilities. Liked being able to purchase a wine and beer as we were wet and tired on arrival.

I quite like self check in and it was fairly easy except having to use the card machine,as I am so used to contactless, but managed in the end.

Convenient and comfortable

Access to the property through a machine in the wall wouldn’t except my confirmation number. Couldn’t speak German so had to get a stranger to ring for access. Bloody stupid idea Defiantly not suitable for a foreigner or a touring cyclist.

This is a difficult rating because had our check-in gone smoothly, I would have only positive things to say. More on that below... Otherwise, the rooms were cute and clean. We serendipitously booked Room 3, which has its own private patio. Super nice. There's also a great little back yard with tables and chairs. Location is a little out of the center, but fine. Also loved the fridge stocked with beer, soda and water for 2 euros each and a coffee maker in the room, as well as coffee machine.

There was a problem and we could not check in to a self-check-in hotel, which was supremely annoying. We wasted an hour trying and trying, then calling and owner sent a housekeeper, who assumed we weren't doing it right, but we were. Then finally owner came and had to work on the machine. He did offer a refund (and free drinks) but only after I strongly suggested a refund. He also was not what I would call apologetic and basically said, "this never happens," but, well it did. So hopefully it won't happen to you, but it did to us and that was extremely frustrating. At least he was nearby!

The self-service check-in was very easy and seamless. I loved the bike room and little details (fridge with cold drinks, coffee machine, clothes line in the shower). The room was nice and comfortable.

This hotel is clean, tidy and the room is a standard size. Great when travelling by bike. No staff on site and electronic check in worked well. Bike storage great, and a nice walk into town. Great value for money.

Easy kiosk check in. The room was small but well equipped. It had everything we needed. We liked having the backyard area available to us and the bicycle garage was great! Thank you!
