As I stepped into the welcoming embrace of the Dormero Hotel in Xanten, I was greeted by the charming presence of Dandy and Molly, who set the tone for a truly enchanting stay. As I crossed the threshold into my room, I was immediately captivated by the exquisite arrangement and pristine cleanliness that permeated every corner, filling the space with a sense of tranquility and serenity. Nestled in the embrace of the luxurious bedding, I indulged in the mesmerizing hues of the color lamp, all while being serenaded by the gentle chimes of the distant clocktower, a reminder of the timeless beauty that surrounded me. From my vantage point, I was treated to a captivating vista of the bustling market square below, a scene that felt like a painting come to life. What truly set this experience apart was the hotel's unique charm, an unexpected delight that added an extra layer of magic to my stay. In every way, my time at the Dormero Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary—a testament to the artistry of hospitality and a memory I will cherish forever.

We liked the location, directly in the town square. There is Monday market day. There several restaurants and cafés and bakeries in and close to the square. Not far from the Roman archeological outdoor museum. Friendly people all around, safe area. Pretty churches, windmills and other places of interest. The room and other parts of the hotel were very clean. Good choices for breakfast.

Our room was at the very top, so we had an extra set of long stairs from the 3rd floor, where the elevator stops. Our room had slanted ceilings, and a little difficult to use the open closet, plus a light could be put in the slanted “closet” area.

We had a great stay at Dormero. Location is super, especially if you want to go to the Christmas market and want to have have the possibility to go to your room whenever needed. The rooms were very nice: spacious, modern, clean with complementary drinks in the minibar. Staff was really friendly and accommodating to our needs. The breakfast buffet was excellent! Overall a very pleasant stay.

The price is a bit on the high end. Could also be due to the time of the year. We were their to see the Christmas market.

All the tick marks for me….location on the market square next to restaurants, quiet, proper friendly reception, , elevator, bike garage around the back, plugs by the beds.

Apparently some people complain the shower is too small. It is small but I came out smelling of roses.

Location, breakfast (really good!!), friendly and professional staff, clean, some free drinks in the room upon arrival, TV with streaming channels ... Everything you 'll ever need for a few days in Xanten.

The noise level of the refridgerator: I switched it off during the night to sleep. Problem 'solved'.

We returned here after a week as we loved it so much! The staff are helpful and attentive, the accommodation very clean and comfortable. It was especially lovely to have an English receptionist fluent in both languages! We really enjoyed the breakfast, which at 20 euros pp sounds expensive, but actually there is so much to choose from, all you can eat, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. So definitely worth it. Even our little dog gave it the paws up (See photo)

We liked everything.

The hotel is on plaza in center of the village. It has great view of the cathedral. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Dandy, the lovely Irish lady made us feel at home. The property has elevator and secure bicycle parking in locked garage with outlets for e- bikes. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The village itself is very walkable and has numerous historical sites and picture opportunities.

The breakfast at €20 is not worth it. we got reduced price which was more in line with what it should be. staff is friendly but at 7 am not the entire buffet was set up.

On site restaurant would have been nice Breakfast expensive, so we didn't go for it. Bar would be brilliant, as there aren't many bars in Xanten

We chose Xanten for our overnight stop on the drive from Calais to Berlin, and we were very glad we did so. This hotel is lovely, very clean tidy and newly refurbished, offering comfortable dog friendly accommodation. It has pride of place in the market square, with a lovely view, overlooking the cathedral. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby for evening meals and the hotel breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly and we will definitely go there again.

All was good. The TV had not yet been connected (work in progress), but this did not bother us.

It was the best hotel breakfast I ever had. A lot of variety from healthy fruits, vegetables, muesli to English style breakfast, bread very nice honey and marmalade, waffles, etc. The hotel is in the middle of the city centre and very quiet. Very good restaurant close by.
