The location was beautiful and although rural, not too far away from amenities. The family room was excellent - two separate rooms, but all contained. The children loved having their own space. Rooms are a very good size. Breakfast was superb - everything fresh and laid out for us when we arrived. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It really was a fantastic stay!
There wasn't anything we didn't like, but maybe a kettle in the room would've been helpful. Perhaps a warning about the stairs, particularly when booking for a family, so people know what to expect. Just nit-picking as it was an excellent stay!

This is a quirky, four hundred year old property, covered in wisteria, with beautiful countryside views. The friendly hosts, Peter and Linda, also offer a delicious three course dinner by prior arrangement. Linda catered to our awkward vegetarian and nut allergy, and arranged her guests (from three different countries) carefully so that the English and French young people could practice their language skills on each other. They serve a continental breakfast. They have a big swimming pool as well, which the kids enjoyed.
A four hundred year old property has interesting staircases and doorways - watch your step and watch your head!

Made to feel welcome, quaint accommodation swimming pool
We didn't like that although wehad our own bathroom it was in corridor where others walked so wasn't quite right for us.

Beautiful property owned by a lovely couple who are most welcoming. The house is perfectly situated and has lots of charm with its old wooden features. You can take a stroll around the garden, sit at the pool or discover some chickens 👌 We were in the bigger family room with three single beds and a larger double bed. Only stayed for night as this was a small stop for us along the route to the south of France but would definitely recommend to stay 2 night to be able to enjoy and relax some more. The tip: ask for their red house wine, its delicious!!

Impossible to fault - the location, the facilities, the room, the food, the ambience, and the host - all absolutely impeccable. A friendly greeting from the host Peter on arrival, and secure garage to park my motorcycle in alongside Peter's fine collection of bikes. Shown to my room which was spotless, and time to relax before a wonderful dinner cooked by the host.
Nothing whatsoever - impossible to improve on this gem of a place.

We really liked the region and the town of Gorron. The room and breakfast were good and presented good value to us. Parking was easy and the instructions were good. We did not see so much when we arrived in the dark and rain but were quickly accommodated without fuss after a long journey. Much appreciated. Thank you. The absolute highlight for us was our host, Peter. A really nice person with a great ability to be socialable but not overbearing; it is a talent to read and adapt to your guests and he has this in spades. Not to mention his wonderful musical talent and knowledge. Lady Madonna on the piano with our breakfast was something I will always remember. Peter was a lovely, unassuming, interesting and very modest man and it was a pleasure to meet him. We did not get to meet Linda in person but I have no doubt she is equally lovely. Gorron /Herce is a very calming place and Peter and his wife have reflected that in their accommodation.
Lack of kettle in room is a minor complaint from me. There is an option to order a coffee but when you wake very early like I do I did not feel comfortable to call for a coffee. The same late at night when i often have a decaf tea. So you have to wait until breakfast unless you bring your own kettle. This is maybe just a personal preference.

Very relaxed anxious to please hosts.Very rural swimming pool a real plus..Owners laid on dinner on day we arrived..Very convivial atmosphere.
Accommodation fairly basic, clean and adequate.Very old building with many trip hazards and low beams which caused a cut head on a couple of occasions.Grounds in need of some TLC.

Breakfast was lovely and served in the gorgeous kitchen. Super photograph gallery to look at when eating too. Location was great and only metres from a good road. Hosts were exceptional and would have cooked me a great dinner if I had simply phoned ahead (I'll know the next time!) Great shower pressure :-)
Wifi signal very poor in my room - used my phone hotspot instead. Perhaps its better in other rooms. Some sound leakage from TV upstairs - but didn't last long.

Lovely owners with a marvelous sense of hospitality. Very nice people and a joy to be here. The location is so great, with a nice cool swimming pool and a separate terrace in front of your room. It is such a joy to stay here. This place is far too cheap and offers the best price/quality ever. Linda and Peter are great hosts and their Bassets are such fun.
The B&B needs some additional care, both the buildings als well as the garden. Ask €10 more per day and all is solved.

Lovely welcome from Linda and greatly enjoyed breakfast and conversation with Peter. Comfortable beds and excellent plumbing in the attractive four centuries old building.
If you are a bit aged and tottery like we are the uneven stones and gravel access to the ground floor unit requires care. A few paving stabs would be helpful.
