The breakfast was very good. The rooms were a little shabby in appearance but clean and comfortable. The bar and reception area was very smart. The grounds surrounding the hotel were very impressive and a perfect place to take your dog. The hotel is very good value and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating and when they did not have the room available that we had booked they changed things and made us feel welcome and offered us an alternative that suited us. We loved the breakfast, it was absolutely delicious and plentiful the surroundings were very scenic do we enjoyed looking at out the window at the beautiful mountains. Tea facility in bedroom was appreciated as we were on top floor.

the beds were a little too squishy for our liking it was a bit of a challenge getting my disabled partner up the stairs although staff did offer assistance so I appreciate that and the lift to the first floor did help.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The building is lovely and the surrounding gardens and views were fabulous. The evening meal was delicious and there was lots of good choice at breakfast, which again was very good. Our room had air conditioning which was great because it was very warm during our stay. The place was also very quite. There is plenty of parking. It is only a short walk through the church and over the bridge in to Crickhowel. We would be very happy to return.

The place is a little run down in areas and our room had a few minor issues. The toilet seat slid around a bit, the remote control for the tv did not work even after being supplied with new batteries. The design on the windows meant when fully opened, it knocked off the curtains. The place could do with being hoovered and dusted better. All of this to us was quite minor, so it would not deter us from returning.

Helpful reception and no problem in changing to a larger room. The breakfast and dinner were beautifully presented and with an excellent menu. The food was superb and the service very good.

Our main criticism was the cleaning of the room. On the day after our arrival the bed was unmade with towels simply placed on the sheets, the mugs may have been cleaned but there was water in one of them in which the biscuits inevitably were damp. For the whole of our stay the bathroom was not cleaned and it was obvious that the floor had not been wiped over. Neither had the carpet in the bedroom area been hoovered. As the rest of our stay was so comfortable these were very bad faults which need to be corrected.

We had the cheapest rooms on the ground floor. They had all the usual facilities and a comfortable bed. The rooms were nice and warm with a good supply of hot water and a modern towel rail which was constantly hot. At breakfast there was a good selection of food on the buffet table (including croissants) and a range of Cooked to Order food ranging from Full Welsh Breakfast to Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg. The evening meal menu had several choices included Braised Welsh Lamb. There was a good range of draught beers and lagers and a good selection of spirits. The prices were very reasonable.

The kitchen was a little chaotic with a shortage of bacon on our first breakfast. We heard a lady order porridge and she was told they did not have any. I had to ask for Orange marmalade because there were no little jars of it in the basket but plenty of choices of jam. The bedrooms on the ground floor could have done with a lick of paint in the bathroom.

Beautiful old rectory. The building is imposing and when you walk into the foyer you are drawn to the huge fireplace with its red leather sofas. Very impressive. Rooms were very clean and most importantly very warm and cosy. Large bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, crisp white linen bedding and a lovely view over the garden (Room 4). The restaurant is a bright spacious conservatory and our evening meal was superb. Recommend the tenderloin of pork and the duck. Breakfast was lovely. Good selection of cereals and the cooked breakfast was superb. The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. It's a truly great plece to stay especially if you like hiking or dog walking. I understand dogs are very welcome. The location is ideal for visiting Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Highly recommended.

Nothing to dislike.

The staff here are amazing and feels more like a family working together. We had a great NYE party the food was incredible, that staff were such a friendly and funny bunch of people it was amazing chatting to them all until the early hours of the morning. The location is perfect with beautiful views, the breakfast was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough. Nothing was too kuch trouble for them and they were very accommodating to our needs. Shout out to Gez, Charlotte, Matthew & Maddie and the other staff/friends of staff that made our new year one that we will never forget! Thank you to the hotel for letting us take the tons of leftovers you had as we have been giving this out today to families in need and the homeless. This was a last minute booking and an incredible find! Perfect for dogs, lots of outdoor space to walk. Cant rate this highly enough and will be back again this year and most definitely for new year again! Thank you all so so much for an amazing experience and pleasant stay

Nothing much but would say the ridge in the double bed was quite uncomfy and there was a bit of mould in the bathroom (expected in a beautiful old building I guess) but did not put is off at all just want to mentioned for you to look at.

I arrived quite late after travelling for about 5.5 hours I was shattered and the girl on reception was more than accommodating. The room and general hotel far exceeded my expectations and was unfortunate I was only staying for one night. The night porter was incredibly kind and prepared breakfast (gluten free) additionally early in the morning (I had a running event) and generally he and the girl who welcomed me were and asset to the hotel.

Nope, all was great!

Lovely big old traditional country hotel. We loved the location with gorgeous grounds for a morning stroll after breakfast, yet just outside the cute village of Crickhowell and easy to find with GPS. We loved the cozy yet roomy bar/lounge where we could get tea and drinks and play card games for a long rainy afternoon then move seamlessly to dinner. The rooms were spotless and comfortable if a bit small. Check in and out was seamless. There was a big, delicious traditional English breakfast.

The rooms are small but adequate and comfortable with clean updated bathrooms. my lamb for dinner in the restaurant was a bit tough. My friend and husband enjoyed their dinners.
