Room was brilliant: up stairs ( to keep us fit) and wonderful views, very comfortable and spacious, bed amazingly comfortable. Both breakfast and dinners were very good with enough choices to keep us happy. Staff, all of them, very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The gardens are very well cared for, beautiful and tranquil, with walk down to the river and further, if wanted.
I think there wasn’t anything which we didn’t like. Maybe the background music in the breakfast and the dinning room could have been a little more varied as after 3 days it felt a bit repetitive.

We had a lovely, large room with a view of the hills and a generous bathroom with fluffy towels and robes. The food was exceptional at dinner and breakfast, as was the friendly service from all the staff. I enjoyed an excellent coffee in front of the fire in the beautiful panelled lounge. We explored the grounds with a woodland walk down to the river; it was such a genuine surprise to find beyond the garden and pool. Such a peaceful place, a welcome retreat.
If you are on the top floor, there are a lot of stairs, and it's not so easy to manage with cases.

If I knew every staff member's name from this stay, each one would deserve a special mention. Everything about my experience was absolutely perfect. The room was spotless, had everything I needed, with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The food, including breakfast, was excellent, faultless. I would 100% recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to staying here again in the future. Having stayed at many hotels, I was impressed by how, even at full capacity, the staff made me feel like their only guest. They are an incredible asset to this hotel. A huge thank you to the entire team!

I do not think that dogs are acceptable in a Restaurant and mentioned this on arrival as we were greeted with a dog at reception. There was a dog in the breakfast room but a lovely lady moved us to the conservatory and could not do enough for us. She was excellent and did not make us feel that we were a nuisance even though she had to carry everything in to us. Well done to this lovely member of staff. Great food at Dinner.
We felt a little uncomfortable with lack of window coverings in the bathroom but, overall, the room was lovely

Lovely big room with fabulous views of the mountains; a big bathroom with a separate ornate bath. The bed was big and comfy and we had a fridge with a bottle of milk which was a very nice and welcome touch. Bathrobes and slippers added a touch of luxury. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
The shower water pressure was hopeless and the shower cubicle was tight for such a spacious bathroom. There was no shower gel provided and one of two little bottles of conditioner was half used which I would not expect from even a much cheaper hotel. Whilst the fridge was welcome it was mounted in an enclosed section of the lovely old wardrobe - perfect for not being seen but there was no means of ventilating the heat which means that the compressor was constantly working hard and therefore noisy.

Stunning former country house. Tastefully renovated. Immaculately clean. Amazing staff, nothing too much trouble. The room was gorgeous and the bathroom simply breathtaking with a view of the Beacons. The spa was a great touch with lovely staff and reasonable treatment prices. 10% off as a guest as well. Fantastic evening menu, beautifully cooked and presented food. Great views from the restaurant too. We arrived early and our room was ready. Check out was at 11am but we stored our luggage and used the spa for the day. Lovely grounds to walk around, all very well maintained.
Nothing at all to dislike.

Everything from the beautiful drive through the Brecon Beacons. The snow on the mountains was idyllic. The location is a peaceful haven away from everyday life. The staff were so attentative . The food menu was plentiful. The Pen Y Llan Stable Room 10 was superb away from the main house. Unable to comment on Spa and Beauty services as I was in no need of there services , next time. Breakfast was fabulous.
This is in no way a negative the dead flies on the window shelf nearest the picture.

Gorgeous Georgian manor house in a stunning rural location with spacious rooms and large bathrooms, comfy beds and excellent food and drink. Plenty of onsite parking. Robes of high quality. Mini fridge in room a bonus. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
As is usual with these older buildings there is no lift for betting luggage up stairs. And I am not fond of dogs in restaurants. A pity the outside garden pool wasn't available for use, obviously it wasn't heated.

We ate in the restaurant during our visit and it was excellent. Great choice on the menu and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our room was in a converted stable and we were very pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was inc the large shower room. the whole venue was exceptionally clean. The Library and bar area included open roaring log fires and wood panelled walls. the perfect way to wind down after dinner.
My Husband I went to try out the spa facilities. the staff were incredibly polite and friendly but unfortunately the jacuzzi was very cold. the staff tried to amend this but to no avail. It was then the turn of the sauna..... this did not disappoint.
