What a lovely place to stay. The staff greeted us and made us feel welcome straight away. The locals in the bar were also friendly. The room was very clean and we had everything we needed. It has a lovely garden area at the back. The food was excellent. We had a 3 course meal in the evening and a breakfast the following morning and everything we had was delicious and we complimented the chef. We would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

Location was good for us. Bar staff were all pleasant and friendly. Parking was free and nearby. Sunday roast was exceptional! Bedroom was quaint. Beer garden was pleasant.

Breakfast was very disappointing. Didn’t like the beer garden tables being right outside our bedroom/bathroom windows. House ale wasn’t available all weekend.

Location was ideal for me as this was a very late booking. The young lady behind the bar was very lovely. The room was perfect and a comfortable bed. The food was lovely and plenty of variety of drinks available.

Just a recommendation....have more milk available to go with the amble selection of the tea/coffee

It was charming and welcoming. The pub was cosy and had a lot of traditional character. The staff were friendly. We booked an hour before we arrived and got the last room only available because of a cancellation. The dinner menu was impressive for a small pub/hotel in a rural area. I had the sea bass which was delicious. Chef is obviously very good.

We had lamb shank the first evening - it was out of this world. Unbelieveable. Gorgeous minty gravy, mash. Amazing. Second night burger and chips. Again, best burger …in memory. No fat in it. Beautiful. It was clean, friendly, and handy for our walk.

Bed was a bit ropey but ok!

The bed was quirky and historic, but extremely comfortable, they have a cracking cooked breakfast, and the place is full of character! The staff are friendly and superbly helpful!

Friendly welcome when we arrived, shown straight up to our rooms. Our table was ready if we wanted it earlier than booked. Enjoyed a lovely meal and very reasonable priced wine.

Nice room, lovely ground floor. Was perfect location for our stay. Lovely woman welcomed us and coped admirably when short staffed with efficiency and good humour- sorry, didn’t get her name. Dinner was fab. Recommend the roast belly pork and the butty Bach

Nothing really. If I was being picky, the car park was a bit puddly and slightly muddy.

We stopped here at the last moment after traveling for 24+ hours from the US. They were able to accommodate us on short notice and let us check in early - we slept 16 hours in a very comfy bed and woke up almost jet lag free the next morning to a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend the pizza for dinner! It was a perfect start to our honeymoon, and we can't wait to come back when we move to Wales in a couple years.

Nothing - we had a lovely time and wouldn't have changed anything!

We had the greatest time at the Griffin Llyswen. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the amazing scenery to the town of Brecon itself. We looked forward to going back to our haven at the Griffin at the end of the day. The restaurant was excellent, the pub was clean and the staff were excellent. We will be going back there again in the future, of that there is no doubt.

The only thing that we didn't like was that our stay wasn't long enough!
